  • Continuing the journey along the picturesque Upper Peak Forest Canal. A lovely day for cruising to a place I have always hoped to visit, Bugsworth Basin. A reminder of my childhood brought back by the smell of New Mills.

Thanks Steve. The area in and around Bugsworth Basin is beautiful. I can only imagine how different it was 200 odd years ago!

Nice one Steve. Bugsworth Basin looks a great place to visit. I kind of like the time lapse footage in the vlog.

Yes Buggy Basin is a great place to visit, even by road. So atmospheric. Shame the pub wasnt open at the time because of Covid-19. It was once owned by Pat Phoenix of Coronation Street fame

I like to be able to switch into higher speed in post production rather than record in it.

Slow Boat Through Britain. Pat Phoenix - that dates us 🙈. I didn’t know that she had a real pub.

Another very nice video I must say. I believe were I were to visit England again I would obtain a hire-boat and give this a try. Thanks

Hi Steve... pleased to see you are well.... thanks for sharing this lovely cruise... I have to agree with you the aconstruction works of yore are amazing especially when you take their age into account... how many of todays structures will still be around in 200 years... looking forward to the return trip... keep safe... unmtil the next one...

Thank Mike, I am still blown away by how the canals were built with manpower alone. Picks, shovels & wheelbarrows

Thank you. This was lovely. Beautiful views. Polite suggestion - bit lower volume when engine sound, higher volume for voice over? To hear you speaking means engine sounds loud between voiceovers to me. I really look forward to seeing you other videos in the future :)

Sprinting like a greyhound I see! What place (that I would have heard of) are you near?

Hi Bruce, its all a bit rural. Marple & Whaley Bridge are the 2 largest towns
      Just NW of Buxton

Very nice Steve, I liked to time lapse bit too.
Have always been on the boat, all your life?

Hi Dale, I moved on to the boat when I retired 18 months ago. But known the canals for ever. Its inthe blood. Tracing my family tree I found my father's family were boat people

Your good video footage is lessened by the NRG music that is so very inappropriate for and incongruent with SLOW, relaxed cruising. Nature and engine sounds are much preferred by this viewer.
    LIKE given nevertheless....

Many thanks for the comment James. I do try to vary it. Trying to please everyone I suppose
