Ep166 Going Underground

Leaving the Bridgewater Canal, I have the tunnels at the northern end of the Trent & Mersey Canal to negotiate. I overnight at the site of a huge canal breach and get ready to team back up with Chugabug.

Yes it was a busy day. But at 3 mph it is hard to get worked up.

Did this journey 25 years ago the other way, dog jumped off boat at the entrance to Barnton tunnel got dog back met a day boat with what seemed a stag party on board near end of tunnel 😂😂😂 back then I think the tunnels didn't have a timed system correct me if I'm wrong good vlog Steve, take care. 😊

It is unusual to have three tunnels in quick succession.
Back in the day it was a case of chance your luck entering the tunnel.
