I live in Canada and while we do have an astounding variety of beers and ales available (some very good ones you would recognize) I do envy the multitude of truly local real ales available at those numerous pubs sited so conveniently close to, if not actually beside, the canals. Covid was the death blow to my favorite brew-pub here in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. Ironically, we have our own Trent Canal which runs through the city (although I believe that it is more properly known as the Trent Severn Canal). As an "armchair" historian I envy the fact that you literally cruise slowly through a landscape shaped by millennia of history.
Unfortunately COVID has taken its toll on the UK brewing industry as well 😢.
The history surrounding our canals is amazing. Most constructed without the aid of machines.
Very envious Steve when we moved the Dawncraft we had in 98 from Guide Bridge to Boothstown we came down Heartbreak Hill in a day as if it was a chore and didn't enjoy the scenery around it as much as we should have, Nice vlog and have a good Easter wherever you are.😊
Heartbreak Hill goes through some lovely countryside. I am lucky enough to be able to take my time wherever I am and enjoy it.
