I always thought they should leverage the technology that we see kinda thrown on the way side that is external graphics cards and have the switch 2 but also have a pro dock that when docked has an upgrade video card allowing you to play on a dialed up setting. This would allow a minimum setting to run in mobile mode and a medium to high setting while docked.

I’m now a switch only gamer and I agree with a lot of what was said however the switch still is able to stand on its own in its current state and has a very impressive library
Nintendo had the opposite approach to Sony and Microsoft for the latest generation: Nintendo makes their hardware underpowered and their game library vast with quality games, while the other two prioritized making powerful consoles but didn't secure as many great games for them. If I have to choose between powerful console, or vast, good game library, I'm going to choose good game library, though it's nice to have both when possible. It's a tragedy to have powerful consoles that can't be fully utilized, and Nintendo seems good at avoiding that, instead squeezing as much performance as possible out of humble hardware.
I'm sure they want to but not just yet. If it's not in June then most likely in early 2025 is my guess if they are planning to release it early 2025 then Jan would be the prefect time to reveal it
Only 3rd party game I think wont come to switch 2 is gta 6 because Rockstar going to push the ps5 and series x to its limits and switch 2 is rumor to be as powerful as a ps4 pro which would struggle to run it.
So I'm a PC and Nintendo kinda guy. If on the next Nintendo console they can at least hit 1080p 60fps at a bare minimum for third party titles I'd happily consider buying third party titles on it no prob. At 30fps, eh I'd just go with the PC equivalent. My eyes are too spoiled now I notice the difference too much. I really hope Elden Ring runs well enough as I'd love to play it tucked in bed.
Lets be honest, the next Nintendo console will be great fun to play whether it's a massive hit or not. But you have to realize that from day one of the NES Nintendo do not make hardware for developers. Nintendo have always and always will make consoles to take advantage of their games. I am almost sure the new console will be able to walk tall with the Playstation 4 Pro but I'm also sure it will be a handheld at its core. Playstation 4 Graphics and performance on the go sounds good to me.

I know this will sound doom and gliom, but the switch 2 being at the power of an rtx 2050 mobile, it's not gonna be any different from when the switch 1 launched. It is exactly in the same niche, the same issues and constraints will be present. Because the switch getting an upgrade in hardware does not happen in a vacuum. Remember 7 years ago what were the requirements for AAA games? We have long passed those times, minimum requirements now are easily the recommended for that era.
I think every one missed the actual fact why switch started off slow with games it is not the "its under powered" like every single one says its litterly the fact its a arm processor released in a era where every game was on x86. Turning shaders or resolution down to make it run on potato hardware is easy. Porting games from x86 to arm was a reall challenge back then. Not so anymore but thats mainly because switch paved the way for that. Hearing people get this whrong over and over again really gets annoying
I seriously doubt late gen games are going to run on this thing. Rebirth runs subpar on PS5 as is. I foresee issues with monster Hunter wilds and GTAVI. Those prolly won’t work for switch 2.
Switch 2 will be closer to current consoles than Switch was to last gen consoles. Switch had the benefit of being newer architecture than PS4/XB1, which played a huge role in making some of those "impossible ports" even viable. Similarly, Switch 2 will be tapping into some architectural improvements (from Nvidia's Ampere, and even Lovelace) that are up to TWO generations newer than what current consoles introduced. DLSS being the most significant, but there WILL be more! RAM is expected* to be much greater parity this time around too. Taking RAM requirements of 6GB(usable), and reducing that cost down to 3GB(usable) is extremely hard. Xbox Series S' 10GB have been at the center of criticism for this very reason, and that's nowhere as extreme as having HALF the RAM of the 'bigger consoles,' like Switch did. So anything above 8GB could turn out to be a major plus for Switch 2. All in all, Switch 2 should see way more ports(and better performing) than Switch did. Also, using games with performance issues(especially when there are more impressive and performant games to draw from) isn't a good indicator of what will/won't be possible. Unless you believe that GTA 6 will be running at a locked 15 fps, then it's clear that; 1) Many current games could iron out these performance issues if they could afford the time and/or resources. 2) There's a TON of untapped potential in current consoles. It's far too soon to think they've peeked. In fact, we are starting to see stuff that we had ought to at launch, as games built on new 'next-gen' engines are ONLY NOW getting off the starting line. Nobody seems to grasp how FAR BEHIND (the typical progress schedule) the industry is with these current consoles. People's impression of what these consoles are capable of is due for a MASSIVE correction. Watch!
I don't care anything about 3rd party 'as ya say it' games unless some of the NES/SNES/Gameboy systems/N64 games is part of them I don't care about most new stuff I want more NES/SNES/Gameboy systems/N64 games on NSO and I want all of these classic games on the next Nintendo system 'free' too lots of us stil likes classic games and lots of us likes Darby of Blue Television Games Tuesdays family friendly streams of usually lots of classic games from lots of classic video gams systems suggested by lots of people in the chat. Im hopeing the switch 2 will have the power equivelent to at least the ps3-ps4. That way they will be able 2 get new releases out to the new switch. And tbh i would be happy for some older ports, like the newer resident evils, the new dead space remake ect.... Iv got my fingers crossed.

I wouldn't be so sure. Even if you argue its a ps4 with DLSS and updated feature set it will for sure run all the games released on PS4.
