Summary: Paddy's determined to hide his injuries but when Pearl sees him through the door, he lies that he was mugged by a group of lads. Meanwhile, Chas is fraught with worry about her son Aaron and unable to control her fears, she goes to see Paddy. When Aaron eventually arrives home, Chas is quick to lay into him about his disappearing act but when Paddy defends Aaron, Chas is further puzzled. When Chas leaves, Paddy attempts to talk to Aaron about his confusion and self-loathing but Aaron refuses to listen.

Gordon is Aaron’s Dad. He’s also a monster.
But that storyline is veeeery far into the future from this point.

@@sweetasbloodredjam it shows Aaron's maturity too to save Gordon from cain and report him instead. The old Aaron would have loved cain to kill him.

"I would rather live a lonely life...than a gay one!" That basically sums up living in the deep closet and what so many religious fanatics think is God's plan for gays and lesbians. It is so very sad.

I think the writers have done an amazing job with his storyline, its so well thought out.
I always thought he had BPD(borderline personality disorder). The bouts of rage and how he's said that he can't control it was the first thing that made me think he has BPD. He's paranoid, impulsive, and very afraid of abandonment. He has a low self worth, and he does this thing called "splitting" which is basically black and white thinking but more extreme.
(sort of spoilers below)
And then later on in the show, he exhibits other symptoms common in people with BPD. And the sad part is, I don't think he's ever diagnosed with it, which is actually realistic.

Even though Aaron's mom, Chaz, can be a Be-otch, she is a very good actress.

it funny he end up dating someone like Paddy described Robert got married and kept meeting Aaron on the side because he didn't want to admit that he is gay or Bi and it blow up in his face its a sad really

You are all so right!! Better to deal with it now Aaron, if you postpone it for too long you may be destined to have a lonely life. Many of us know what we´re talking about. This Aaron storyline has me really emotional. And I keep saying acting in this is gorgeous!!!

It took Aaron 3 months to even step inside a gay bar, it may take a while more for a previously hetero character to finally open up, as it were. We need to be patient.

Aaron needs therapy, not for his sexuality but for his violent and self destructive streak. He is in so much emotional and psychic pain it is unbearable to watch. Ah but the British think emotions are abnormal and therapy means you're crazy. More ignorant mythology.
Yes, this is fiction but I've lived through some of this battle and known others who went through worse. So it opens old wounds.
He does end up going to therapy for his violent behaviour and self harm. Being realistic which is good for them

Oh, in denial or not, Aaron just pissed me off the way he talked about gay people like that. I don't care if he believed it, or didn't, or if people put that in his head or whatever.
That's basically bigot talk from a homosexual, and if I'm not wiling to take it from straight bigots, I'm not about to take it from gay ones either.

im guessing you think diffrent now with the storyline about his dad sexual abusing him
because he thought he was gay because of that and also when i first found out i had anxiety (which i know its diffrent) i always made jokes about anxiety because i was in denial and it was my way of coping
