Summary: Aaron's unimpressed when Chas moves back into Smithy with him and Paddy. The frosty reception doesn't deter her but when she tries to make an effort with Aaron, he lashes out. In his anger, the tearaway teen begins to hyperventilate and all Chas can do is watch as Paddy calms him down. Chas ruefully wishes that she had such a relationship with her son. Will Aaron ever let Chas into his life?

Chas was so nasty and annoying back then. Always judging and fighting with Aaron. She abandoned him, twice ffs how does she expect him to just accept her? pfft.
I love the relationship they have now though. Chas grew up a lot and learned to be a mother. And although she still gets on my nerves sometimes, I admire her for coming to understand her son and working to have a strong relationship with him.

He was severely depressed enough to try to kill himself and expressed multiple times since he woke up that he still wishes he were dead. Understandably, I don't think gratefulness and friendliness are even on his radar.
