Summary: Chas is determined to get to the bottom of Aaron's attack on Paddy and quietly calls the police. Paddy manages to convince the police that Aaron wasn't responsible for his injuries but when Aaron returns, they're both confused over who reported him. Chas turns up to talk to Paddy and Aaron's furious to learn that she was the one who called the police about him. Paddy asks Chas to keep her distance from Aaron and refuses to tell her what is going on. Paddy, however, reassures Chas that Aaron isn't in any criminal trouble. Chas is mortified that she can't help her son.

Chaz has a lot or nerve, she abandons her son and doesn't even keep in touch to find out how Aaron is doing, being more concerned with her romances and playing step-mom to Kyle's kids, but then gets upset that she is out of the loop. She only gets involved when Aaron does something wrong and then her meddling only makes things worse instead of better. The state should compel her to have her tubes tied so she can't every again reproduce.
Aaron's saga and comming out are the most intensely realistic and well written i have ever seen shown in a story. too bad more Americans dont see this ,it could even help break down the steriotypes and ignorance so many in the world think of the gay community.

Chaz "I'm your mom and I care about you." Chaz has a funny way of showing it, dumping her son a an ex-BF. Then when Aaron explodes, she calls the Cops. Her answer to parenthood is to have others do her job for her instead of doing it herself.

And that's when Chaz became the biggest hypocrite of all, breaking the dingle code she so vehemently pretended to follow and betrayaled her son again!
Gawd I hate Chas back then she was such a horrible mother. In a way she still is but she's matured more as one.

To be fair to Chaz, they did keep everything secret from her. She didn't know that Aaron was gay at this point, and she didn't know that he hated himself for it. She thought she was doing the right thing because to her - Aaron just went mental at Paddy and gave him a really brutal beating. I'm excusing her actions or whatever but she had no clue what happened.
I wont say Chas is a horrible mom but I will say she won't be winning the award for best mother... If any person should win a award for being the best parent it should be Paddy! I wish I had a dad who was as cocerned about me as Paddy is with Aaron.

Oh Chas is getting on my nerves. Like Aaron said awhile back, she didn't even want him but now she wants Aaron now that there might be some trouble. She wants to be involved. Like Aaron said that no one even wants him... except Paddy. Grr Chas.

It's a bit of a joke ... one minute Chas is doing everything she can to keep Aaron out of jail/ out of trouble and the next she goes and calls the police on him?! Guess the show's producers can do anything they want, even if it isn't consistent and doesn't make sense!
Not the best idea from Chas, but being fair; she's in the dark, and Paddy's been brutally assaulted. If I knew it was Aaron I'd have long called the cops given his record of blackmail, car breaks sabotage, old lady assault, and more. And it's fricking Paddy for God's sake. No one messes with Paddy!
Frankly, I think the people of the show, as well as the viewers in the comments, give Aaron too much slack, just because he's a hot young gay character.
The mother is REALLY pissing me off!

Chas is the worst kind of mum she dumps her son when he was a child leaves him with his dad to be sexually abused by his dad so she can concentrate on her own live then thinks she can pick and choose when she decides she wants to try and be a mum and then blames Aaron and cant understand why he shuts her out then starts going OTT with the smothering ... unbelievable!!!
Aaron needed to be reported … his anger and violence is out of control … and his being gay and scared of being found out is absolutely no excuse.

Women just cannot stand not being the center of attention. Chas has no need to know anything, it is none of her business. She has failed as a mother and now brings her neurotic and poisonous nature into what should be Aaron's safe place. She is an abusive woman masquerading as someone who cares.
Everyone knows that jail and prison turns even innocent people into criminals so her motive to have him arrested is completely malevolent.

Can no one in this town mind their own business and stop gossiping? Just when I thought I couldn't like Chaz less, ugh that woman gets under my skin.
Chaz's meddlesome ways and her emasculating actions plus her over powering need to control Aaron and keep him the little boy she remembers him to be, together are part of the reasons he is a poofter !!! lol
