Question about the free standing or clawfoot tubs. Are they hard to clean around and under especially when they’re up against a wall or more? Do people have to put in a shelf or niche for the things you want to reach for once inside? Sometimes my girl and I just like to soak our feet (after a good wash of course) on mom and daughter “spa dates”. Where would we sit? The drop ins seem nicer and more practical but the free standing ones are more expensive. I’m not seeing it. What am I missing?

The drop-in tub sounds like it would be more practical for what you would use it for, especially because a lot of drop-ins offer jacuzzi jets for a more spa-like experience! Clawfoot and freestanding tubs are gorgeous, but we wouldn't recommend sitting on the side of them.

Hi there! Cleaning clawfoot tubs is not hard to clean at all- no harder than cleaning a regular tub. We aren't sure what you mean about having a shelf added for being in the tub, but we think that shelves add a lot to the room and are great for extra storage! You can also have a bin full of the things you need in order to take a bath (ex shampoo, soap, conditioner, bubbles, ex). However, there no extra room to sit, (like how most tubs have a thicker frame) clawfoot are thin and don't give a lot of room to sit. This means that seats needed to be added (ex/a bench) located on the outside of the tub for "spa days". These are all great questions and if you are interested in talking more about this product with an expert please don't hesitate to call or visit a showroom nearest you! @@build I think we are going to go with an undermounted rectangle tub with an 8 inch tile surround to make it easy to sit on, and soak feet and/or place bath products to reach while in the the tub. And yes, we will work storage into our design. Thanks for the very clear response.
