WOW 😳 Thank you ladies ❤️❤️
Thank you so much for sharing!! We appreciate the feedback and support!
Great dream bathrooms, hopefully you don’t fall asleep 😴 instead
I have been through all the finishes. I have found that chrome is timeless and a good way to go unless you have money to throw.
So true, chrome fixtures are less expensive and never a wrong choice in any style bathroom. We love that there are more options today than ever. Mixing other finishes with chrome is a great look as well.
I so agree! I just wouldn't put chrome with brushed nickel. I am getting ready to do an aging in place on suite. Would love to see some ideas.@@emileeandlora
I am now spending so much time maintaining all these finishes. Chrome is much easier to maintain no doubts about that. Rose gold I find is the most difficult to maintain .
Love the info provided in the video along with great reference pics. Thank you for this as it provides many great ideas I wasn’t aware of for when I start plans on my bathroom remodel. I saved this to my playlist so I can reference again!
Thank you!! We love hearing that you found this video helpful! Sharing our knowledge and experience in interior design to help others is exactly why we created our channel. It is so nice to hear that we are being helpful!:)
Love the concept of timeless design that incorporates new ideas!! Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you for your kind words and for watching!
Yes. This is very helpful! ❤
INCORRECT! I live in South Texas (where it is still in the 70's right now) and I cannot WAIT to get a heated floor on my bathroom reno. I miss having them and let's face it, no one wants to get out of a shower to a cold floor. even in summer.
That's great!:) It is nice to have a warm tile floor.
So glad I came across this video. You gals have given me so many amazing ideas for a new finished basement bathroom! Thank you
We love hearing this!:) Welcome to our channel and thank you for sharing! Wishing the best with your upcoming bathroom project.
I’m working on deciding the look for my basement bath and laundry.
The thing with tile is the horror of maintaining the grout. The tile can only look beautiful until the grout changes the look. The design will not work with the miles of grout becoming the “focus point” in the long run. I wish for more practical alternatives.
Thank you for your comment. Grout has come a long way - if mixed and installed correctly, epoxy grout won’t crack, stain, or shrink, making it an ideal solution for wet environments. If you want to avoid all grout lines entirely, thin format porcelain slabs is a great option - solid surface walls with no grout lines. Porcelain slabs are more expensive, they have to be fabricated and installed like countertops, but no maintenance and super easy to clean. A more affordable option to avoid grout lines is a prefabricated shower.
I agree , grout is every woman’s cleaning nightmare in the bathroom
Grout isnt an issue with the new stain resistant grout.
Grout sealant should solve the grout issue as well? There is spray and seal and it is easy and can be done more frequent as maintenance? Also between the tub and beginning of tile should be silicone. That area seems to get dirtier easier. I also keep scrubbing bubbles in the tub and spray when lm done with my shower.
Just thoughts. My grout isn't a nightmare and l LOVE tile. Maybe this will be useful so you can too
I loved this video so packed with tips. I'm a nurse by profession but have been flipping houses for about 10 years and your experience is helpful to me . Ty!
We have white grout in the bathroom and it’s fine (3yrs old). It’s stain resistant and sealed…no issues.
I got so many ideas from this video! Thank you for all the very practical suggestions and explanations along with the trends! I’ve subscribed.
We are thrilled to hear this - thank you for sharing! Thank you for subscribing as well! Greatly appreciate your support and we will do our best to continue to provide informative and entertaining content in the future.
Thank you for amazing information! I am looking to renovate both master and powder room in a condo and you have given me several options and update ideas.
We are happy to hear the video was helpful! Have fun designing your bathrooms!:) We would love to see pictures when you're done.
Perfect timing! I'm remodeling 3 bathrooms. You just saved me from making
a couple of mistakes in my material choices. Thank you ladies😅
Fabulous that's great to hear! Happy our video arrived in time! We wish you the best with your bathroom remodels 😊
Love all the natural wood warmth!
We do too!!❤️ Thrilled to see more bathroom embracing wood.
Thank you, Emilee & Lora! This is my first time here. My builder's electrician told me I didn't have enough room to put wall sconces on either side of my 36" vanity and that the one standard wall light centered above the vanity was their suggestion. With the examples put forth in this video, I am going to ask if he can add electrical junction boxes in the ceiling for owner-provided pendant lights on either side of the vanity mirror instead. Oh, and yes, I just liked and subscribed.
Greatly appreciate your support!! Thank you for sharing your experience! Your light solution is exactly why we make videos. We want everyone to know there are design solutions and options. We are send our best your way! Happy Holidays!
Thank you very much, at least someone with elegance and practical ideas. Also you covered privacy, safety. Excellent.
Thank you!! We work hard on our videos, so your kind words are greatly appreciated. Happy Holidays!

@@emileeandlora Yes, definitely will
@@emileeandlora I have been changing the house to earthy tones (greys, browns, white, some black) do you have ideas of colors, etc. that will be timeless? I am clueless. Thank you
Love a "timeless" approach!
We do too!:)
I was able to purchase a part that retrofitted with my existing shower valve, so I could use a faucet from a different company. It worked really well. I wasn’t able to do that with my Roman tub faucet, so I just used a metallic spray paint to change the color of the spout and handles. It turned out really well, but might not be the most durable solution. Thanks for your informative video. I am in the process of planning the remodels of 3 bathroom and one powder room. Your video gave me lots of ideas.
That's great!! We love how resourceful you are! You're definitely thinking like a designer! Thanks for sharing and we are pleased to hear you found the video helpful. Sending you our best with your next 3 bathrooms and have fun!

Great overview and so helpful. Thanks ladies!

Interesting ideas. I’m renovating an apartment in southern Italy. 🇮🇹 It’s a major project because we changed the floor plan to a more open concept. We enlarged the bathroom so I have more options. I like many of your suggestions. Definitely wall sconces for lighting because we refurbished the antique wood beam ceiling. Sconces alongside of the antique mirror are a must. Thanks for sharing your expertise.
Oh wow, that sounds like a challenging but wonderful project! Sending our best your way! We would love to see that bathroom!:)
@@emileeandlora not certain how much longer to completion, certainly several months. This is Italy and nothing happens here quickly. Piano, piano. I will share photos eventually. Excellent video! Thank you 😀👏
Thank you! We are thrilled to hear you liked the video; it was a fun one to put together.
I love so many of these trends! The problem is I have a champaign taste on a beer budget. We are starting a new build and I wish I had you lady’s to help me😊 Thank you for the ideas. Could you do a video on 2024 kitchens on a budget? 😂 I believe you don’t have to have $ to have good taste, I just need to educate myself on what is a less expensive way to go and still have it look good.
Thank you for your kind words!! We agree, you don't have to break the bank to design a beautiful kitchen. Choosing timeless styles and colors will help keep the cost down because trendy can cost more. This will also help the longevity of your investment, because stylistically it will not age as quickly. Currently, we are working on a few kitchen videos that address budget in more detail, so if you follow and turn on your bell you will be notified of these videos. We wish you the best and many years of happiness in your new home! Very exciting!:)
We are currently building a home. We are considering infrared heat panels for the 3 bathrooms instead of ceiling mounted heater/light/fan combo. What are your thoughts on infrared heating?
Thank you very much for all your incredible ideas. I love all the beautiful photos too.

Thank you! We are building and these ideas help. Re the tall mirrors - would you tilt those down slightly so you can see more of yourself or keep them flat on the wall? I’m so short that I’d love the tilt.
Thank you for sharing! We are pleased to hear you found the video helpful. Pivot mirrors are great; you might have an issue finding very tall ones though. Things to know when using a pivot mirror - weight, make sure you have support in the wall for both side brackets; projection - the mirrors stand off the wall, so consider this for the faucet height and depth.
About to start a basement bath reno next month and this is right on time. Love the colors, choice of materials and rethinking our choices now. However, this is our first reno. Have a contractor that's very busy (which is good, I think) but have been put off several months because he's taken on other jobs. My husband and I are starting to feel overwhelmed and not as confident of our choices or contractor. We need to replace the prefab neo angle shower that was leaking but now want to update the bathroom. Any suggestions?
Oh good, happy to hear the timing was good for your upcoming reno!:) True, a contractor that is busy can be a good sign - like an unspoken referral. But, if he is taking on jobs after committing to you and before yours, that might be a sign to look for another contractor. You might be able to find a contractor in your area through NAHB. You can do this while waiting on him, so if you can't find someone, he is still committed.
As far as being unsure about your selections, the easiest thing to do is find a bathroom you like the style and color of and match it. But remember, it should be cohesive to your homes style unless you are planning to change that someday as well. Sending our best your way and hope that everything works out for you!
Thank you and will keep your suggestions in mind.
I'm just building so this is right on time fr me! Can you please do a video as to where we can buy bathroom cabinets, facets and mirrors ?
Absolutely!! That's a great idea! We will let you know when that video goes up. Sending our best on your upcoming build!

That niche next to the freestanding tub -- is it close enough to reach from a seated position? From your photos I can see I would have to stand up to reach it.
Hi. On our projects, we design the niche or ledge to be approx 2-3" above tub height; mentioned at 11:12. This does make it easier to reach without standing.
Love this video….I do have a question, if you have one of those hall bath tubs where the plastic goes up the wall but not all the way to the ceiling, where would you place the tile? Above the tub wall and in front of the tub as shown in the video?
That's great to hear, thanks! Good question! If we are understanding correctly, it sounds like you have a prefabricated one piece tub - walls and tub are fiberglass or similar. We will do our best to provide an example that might work for you. If you tile the rooms exposed walls, this fills in the drywall space above the tub and purposely continues onto adjoining walls for a clean tile design throughout. If you have the room for a pony tub wall, it will run into your newly tiled walls, so tile pattern layout will be important to marry tile surfaces properly. Hope you find this helpful!:)
To modern look a office.geometric is more cool...desing with same style...and natural wood and rock is good...I like your tape....

Can you give me a link for the brown wall paper with the bumps...is it waterproof? Thank you for all the great advise!

Oh that's wonderful, we are so excited you did! Thank you! 😊
I'm doing my guest room and you were so helpful in giving ideas. Is it good to keep your plumbing fixtures the same finish throughout the same floor?
Thank you for sharing! We love to hear that our videos are helping people. It is not necessary to duplicate fixture finishes or use the same fixture throughout a floor or home. It is more important to keep the design style - modern, traditional, rustic, etc - cohesive to the homes architecture and/or interior design throughout the home, so each bathroom can have its own moment.
Love the video and all the creative ideas! I am getting ready for my primary bath remodel. I have beautiful travertine floor tiles and the floor is heated. I would love to keep these floors. We are expending and re-tiling the shower. However I am having a hard time to figure out what shower tiles would go well with my travertine floors. What would you recommend? Thanks!
Thank you for your kind words! We are happy to hear you enjoyed the video. There are so many types and colors of travertine and many have white, gray or brown veining. When we are in your situation, we choose a color in the tile and go lighter or darker depending on the desired design aesthetic. Don't forget to keep you countertop and backsplash in mind, so all surfaces pair up nicely.
@@emileeandlora thank you for getting back to me! Ideally I would like to get away from travertine for the shower wills. Would any non-travertine look wall tiles work?
Do you have a recommendation for a video on painting the wall tile in the bathroom?
We don't have a video to recommend, but here is a guide from Home Depot:

Shower spa systems.should they be on the wall where you can open glass door to turn on or not?
Not sure we completely understand the question, but will do our best to answer. Whether a standard shower, shower system (multiple shower heads), or steam shower, having the on/off control (temp valve), is most convenient right inside the door whether the shower sprays are on same wall or another wall. A diverter (control sprays), is best located on the shower wall or close by. A smart shower system ran by touch pad can be placed between both door and shower wall for ease of control. Hope this was helpful!:)
I just came across your Chanel. So my husband is remodeling our bathroom. I’m kinda indecisive on keeping the tub or not. Do you have any videos of re-vamping the shower and bath together. By the way I saw some looks I’m debating on.. ❤️❤️
Sorry, we don't have a video that reviews tub shower combo ideas, but that is a great idea for a future video. Thank you for watching and hopefully our video provided you some inspiration for your upcoming remodel.
We are currently building our home. We are considering infrared radiant heat panels for our 3 bathrooms. This would be in lieu of the typical light/fan/heater fixtures in the ceiling. We would still have a light/fan fixture. What is your opinion of the infrared heat panels?
Exciting! We wish you all the best with your home build. In our area, radiant heat underlayment is often used in custom new construction; however we are not familiar with the radiant panels. Sorry we could be more helpful!
Smaller tiles - more grouts, more cleaning. Same applies to non flat tiles.
Thankfully today, there are grouts that are stain resistant and easier to keep clean. There are times were small tiles are architecturally important to a project. For instance, if we are working on a 1920's bungalow and the design plan is to stay true to the era and architecture of the home. We also like to use mosaic tiles to accent backsplashes or shower niches.
@@emileeandlora Am I wrong to assume that it can be more than one architecturally imports solution including a more practical one?
@@ninaotan7811 No you are not wrong :) Today more than ever design is flexible. Having many design solutions and styles allows for individuals to have options to address their needs and wants to achieve their desired design aesthetic and budget.
I like the look of the tub, if it is the right tub. too much tile feels heavy
There are some amazing free standing tubs that definitely are pieces of art.
Love it great video !
Thank you for sharing! We are happy to hear you enjoyed the video!
Popped over to your channel and joined. Great content!!
Good video
Thank you!:)
I love the freestanding tubs, but how do people clean behind them with that tiny gap? Steam and dust seems like a nightmare to clean behind them.
We love them too!:) Your concerns are definitely valid, so we try to leave enough room for a Swifter, mop or broom handle will fit between the tub and wall.
I have a question about towel hooks. A wet towel on drywall can't be good for the dry wall.
Thank you for this great comment! The two most common ways to hang a towel in a bathroom is on towel bars or hooks and both place the towel up against the wall. If a bathroom is properly painted with "bathroom paint" that has anti-microbial additives that help resist - not completely prevent - mildew or mold, then you are fine with either hanging method. For years our industry used high gloss paints for bathrooms, because anti-microbial paints were not available. Today, you commonly see this is public bathrooms. We will definitely do an in depth video on paint in the future, thanks for the idea.
Does the kitchen and bathroom have to match? Such as color faucet?
Great question! No, you do not need the bathroom and kitchen faucets to be the same finish or exact faucet brand/suite. What is important is that stylistically all materials/finishes/colors are cohesive throughout the home; e.g. having a ultra modern kitchen but a traditional farmhouse bathroom in the same home would not be cohesive. However, you can take elements from both styles and properly marry them together - a rustic wood floor with modern cabinets. Hope this is helpful!
Yes, that is very helpful. Thank you again.
Are wall to wall vanity mirrors out?WE are refreshing our primary bath and our mirror has nice molding around it, but wondering if it makes th room look dated,
Hi! Without seeing pictures of your mirror, hard to tell you whether it is dated or not. Also, does the existing framed mirror stylistically match the design style you are wanting? Framed mirrors are in and so are frameless mirrors for modern bathrooms. As for wall to wall, we are actually doing a cosmetic (refresh) remodel now, keeping the wall to wall mirror, but adding a painted trim that will match the painted vanity cabinet. So many design sales and options these days!:)
Hopefully this information helps and we send you the best with your refresh remodel!
What do you mean "the tile around the bathtub is new"??? Here in Belgium it's been done for years and years already 🤔
Great point, thanks for sharing :) There are many other countries as well that commonly have tile tubs and tile walls for the entire bathroom. We are now seeing this more in the US.
Why is there ALWAYS someone in a team that is more dominant and who thinks it alright to overtalk the other, while the less talkative is treated like a side kick? Emilee is often talked over by Lora and she accepts the roll as the "yes man" or "wing man" while Lora talks like the authority and the one who knows more.
Tiled frontage of baths (tubs) has been a thing in Australia forever. Every house I have lived in has a built in bath with the same wall tiles down the side of the bath. There is less baths/tubs being built in now as most are opting for a free standing bath/tub. Shiny chrome still looks clean and crisp in a white bathroom and is still a classic. So no need to get tired of it to put in brass or black. People are overdoing it with making all their fixtures black and it’s just too much.
We are big fans of Australian architecture and design; very inspirational!
Wallpaper in primary bathrooms? What type?
Vinyls are a great option for a primary bathroom. There are so many textures, patterns and colors to choose and many you can't even tell they are vinyl. The options are endless :)
Rule number one, the over use of fancy transitions is a real no no for videos, especially when they take up most of the photo time, choose one simple type and stick to it, it’s much more professional and less distracting. Hope that helps in future. Otherwise great contents really well explained, definitely one of my top bathroom help videos. 👍
Great feedback, thank you!!
If the porcelain has texture. It need niche?
Sorry, we don't understand the question. Can you provide more context? Thanks
Need to change my bathroom. People are saying tubs are out of date. Is this true? I always liked a tub
We don't believe tubs are out of date; many of our clients request a tub and most want freestanding. We do seldom do a jetted tub. Some clients do opt to omit a tub, if they have a tub in another bathroom, to have a large two person shower. For resale value it is good to have a tub in a house. Hope this was helpful!:)
Dont care what trends are im still calling ot a Master bathroom. Slavery was 200 years ago
What's your opinion about light floors in a light bathroom?
We often use light tile on bathroom floors and prefer porcelain over natural stone. Rectified tiles allow for smaller grout lines. We often use a shade or two darker grout since bathroom floor grout can discolor over time in the high traffic areas. Epoxy grout is moisture resistant and commonly recommended for bathrooms.
Why is the term Master Bath being phased out?
Thank you for asking this question. In hindsight, we would have referenced this differently and provided an explanation for the other names used today when referring to a master bedroom or master bathroom. The term master bedroom or master bathroom seems to be phasing out or changing among some companies and some professionals. For a while now, we have been noticing realtors, architects and designers using the names primary, principal or main when referring to and what is commonly known as the master bedroom or master bathroom. We don't know when or how this change started to evolve. According to South Florida Agent Magazine, Houston Association of Realtors and Chicago-based real estate firm @Properties announced they will stop using the term master and adopt a more neutral term like main or primary. Studies have shown that master is still the most commonly used label, however primary, principal and main are being used as well. Sharing this with our viewers was so when they hear or read master being referenced as primary, principal or main they will know they all are referencing the same space.

Your welcome! Thank you for taking the time to share your viewpoints!
Wisconsin’s largest luxury builder will not build shower niches due to them collecting water and more importantly soap scum. We listened to him!
Thanks for sharing your experience. It is always interesting to hear what builders will and will not do around the country.
A niche should always be designed with the sill sloping slightly toward the bath or shower. This reduces buildup of water or soap residue. A solid sill without grout lines is helpful as well.
Useful video but show more pictures of what you are describing and less of you talking
Appreciate the feedback.

The “Master bathroom” term is not “going out.” The owner(s) of the home is the “Master” regardless of the pronoun of their choice. They worked hard to pay the bills and deserve the fruits of their labor. Remember, the owner of the home could be one or more individuals. If you feel differently, you’re welcome to cancel your MasterCard account and sign up for a visa.
Oh, so it's a woke thing? OMG, please
how old are these woman and they still havent worked out how to say niche?
Lol! Love this comment!! We talk about this often, depending on the geographic location we hear it pronounced both ways. And, according to Merriam-Webster and Google there are three proper pronunciations for niche - nich (Most common in US), neesh (French inspired-British English), or nish (no explanation provided).
And how old are you that you haven't acquired manners.😮?

Thank you so much!! We love making these types of videos in hopes to give viewers lots fo ideas for their homes. No, we haven't made a barn door video.
