- This is how your reset the SRS light on a Honda. My car in particular is a 1995 but this reset method works for many different years and models of Hondas.
Hondas are known for tripping an SRS light when really nothing is wrong with the system. A quick reset and you should be good to go. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Looked at several CZcams videos on this subject. This video did the trick on my 2004 Pilot! The comments about being very quick to connect and disconnect when SRS switches from ON to OFF were very helpful. Enlisted the wife to watch the light and yell ON, OFF while I was under the dash opening and closing the connect worked great! Many thanks for your help!
Many thanks for posting this. I was a bit hesitant to meddle with SRS circuitry but your procedure worked like a charm. Only caveat I would add is that the timing is critical. In your video, you did mention that the opening and shorting should be done within 4 seconds. in my case it was more like 2 seconds. the first three tries did not work because I was not doing it fast enough. The dealer said they have to take out the front seats and check all the wiring harnesses that ran under the seat and carpet!!! They had quoted me a price of about $700. with your procedure, i did it for free and in five minutes. can't thank you enough.
This info was a lifesaver. Spent 2 days trying everything. My Hayes Repair Manual doesn't say a word about this. After watching this it took a minute to reset. Thanks again.

Hey man great simple vid I love it. Changed my heater core in my ‘94 hatch and as u know I had to take the entire dash out and reinstall it. I knew it was something stupid . That’s why I love these old cars they have so much character and very easy to work on. Thanks again
This worked great. Tried 1st with speaker wire. I couldn’t get it connected fast enough. Luckily I had a civic that’s no longer running. I found the seatbelt connector & cut it. Tired it exactly how it’s was done in the video & it worked like a charm. Now I have no lights on the dash. I’m a happy lady. Thank u so very much!
Hell yes. Thank you. I have a 95 Civic - this worked like a charm. Just as you described. Thank you thank you thank you.
Brother, thanks. I watched 2 or 3 other videos with the same technique but kinda confusing. Found yours and now my dashboard is clean. Thanjs for explaining it as simple as you did.
I tried this trick on my brothers 02 Accord and worked excellent. Thanks for this super easy and quick video 👍🏻👍🏻
Best video for this help needed: “when SRS is ON- plug is IN, when SRS is OFF- plug is OUT”
no the plug it s not connected to any thing it plugs just to a holder just to hold it in place its made to reset the srs system,
Dude, you ended my sleepless nights thinking about that srs light lol .
Your information was very helpful, thank you very much for saving me from the cruel repairman fee. Greetings.
Hey just want to say thank you for the video. I worked perfct. And you saved me 1000 dollars.
Thank you for being detailed on your instructions. It did work with my 2003 Honda Element EX
Omg this video helps me so much getting my SRS dashboard light off I had it on for a while and now it's off for good the paper clips worked super thank you once again
When all is done you reconnected your srs switch correct
Replaced my 2000 civic steering wheel. Srs light came on. This tricked worked perfectly.
Your first person saying to leave plug out... Great Job
worked perfectly on my 1999 civic aerodeck, thanks!
Thanks for the video had to go over it a few times but thank God it worked reconnecting on and off has to be fast otherwise it doesn’t take
This really works. I just did it. Thanks bro!
Thanks bro! Changed my dash on my 98 Prelude and triggered the SRS. Was thinking about removing the light from the cluster but this is way easier and it worked like a charm!
Hey man do you remember where the reset plug is on your 98? I have a 97 and I’m going crazy with this srs light
@@arielmartinez7517 I guess you found it, but for any other ppl wondering, its the small yellow cube located st the right side. It has no rear connections and its just for deleting codes.
I have a Civic mb3 1997
Thanks mate, I did it same way and it works!
Thank you for sharing 👍👍👍
You da best home slice!
Thank you, did work on my 99 honda accord 🤝 👍🏻👍🏻
Perfect very good for understanding. Thank you.

Very good friend, the trick really worked very well 😃
Thank you! You have to do the process REALLY quick for it to work.
thanks buddy it worked for me!
Thanks bud my light came on when I put an accord wheel with a bag into my prelude to replace its worn ass and wouldn't go away.:)
Thank you for your help kind sir!
I didn't think it would work for me since it was an intermittent problem. (drive for a while and it would go out) But, I figured wtf give it a try. Danged if it didn't shut the pesky light off! Thanks for the video!
Thank You ....WORKED.
This seemed to have worked for my 2003 Element. Not sure if this video said to disconnect the neg terminal on battery, but that did not allow me to complete the circuit. Thanks for the help.
This just worked on my 96 Integra LS. It didn't do any of the blinking though, but I did everything else as said here and it's gone :)
Thanks 🙏 Gracias 🙏 Danke 🙏 Merci 🙏 Grazie 🙏 Arigato 🙏

Worked good on my 2001 honda accord
Save me €50.00. Cheers
will try this tomorrow afternoon and come back to let you know lol.
Would this cause any effect on the steering wheel controls cruise control volume ect . ?
Is it possible that a fuse or plug is left unplugged that multiple codes for SRS come up? Hooked up a scan tool and 10 DTCS came up most of which are circuits. I just finished up an engine replacement and the SRS light is on.
Thank you. Going to try this with my 04 Element.
Did it work on your element? I have an 04 also
@@mansge422 Have not tried it as yet Carrie. Loaned the Element to my sister for a few days that has turned into almost two weeks... She's a mess.
Very good job thakns
Could you please advise on where to find this yellow connector in Honda Pilot 2007? If you can share a picture that would be highly appreciated, thanks
Hi, I have a similar issue. My 2011 Honda CRV didn't give me any SRS airbag light on, but when I used BlueDriver OBDII bluetooth scanner, it actually found a 41-11 code. Is this a false alarm, a connection that is just loose, or something else? Is it still safe to drive it (e.g. would airbag actually deploy with this 41-11 code which means "No Signal From Driver Front Impact Sensor?" Thanks!
You rule dude.
Hi great vid. I have a 2010 CRz airbags have bean changed, but the light is still there. Will this work also for my car. And is it a lose plug or do you unplug and then ...
Thank you.
Thank you!
Thanks to you
So if I don’t want to clip my seat plug, I can buy speaker wire cable and simply connect one side to the SRS plug and the other twisted together?
Thank you
The light can come back later. This means that you likely have a non-full contact with the driver seat belt's taken place inside of the seat belt's buckle. See other videos. This happens to my Honda Accord. And the trick works but only temporarily.
Yo are right.... exactly.. it works but for some time
. Light comes back few days later..😩😩😩
Did you guys ever find a permanent fix?
Well I think if it comes back on that means there's something still wrong with the system. If everything's fine it'll stay off.
@@NSZ-sb6kt Basically, in my case I diagnosed the problem to be the seat belt bucklet contact code 9-3. Google on how to diagnose for code 9-3, basically 9 blinks, pause, then 3 fast blinks. So, I know for sure it's NOT the airbag problem but the belt bucket gets old. This is pretty much usually the problem with Hondas. Replace the belt buckle.
Just installed a quick release, but still want the car to be safe for others. Will the passenger airbag still work if I do this trick, or there is another way to do so? And I can’t find the horn wire… I really want my horn to work lol
thank you. it worked perfect
Thanks man....
How about if any damage happen tot he car electric and the wires ?
👍 Confirmed working on Honda Element. The yellow jack is above of the fuse box.
Do I need that seat belt connector back on after I remove it ?
Nice job great video and info!! Do you know or does anyone else know if this will work for a 2012 Honda Accord? Thank you!
No idea why my srs came on. 1999 Honda Civic EX. Drive to grocery store. Parked. Turned car off. Went inside. When I came back to start it up, the srs light came on and stayed on. No accidents, no nothing. Gonna give this a try
Thanks
Awesome video thanks just one question forgot where I pulled out the yellow plug is it plugged into something or is just a slot that you just put it back in. Thanks
Empty slot without pins
Where are u located I need help with my srs light
Thanks bud
Do you reconnect the SRS plug once you're done?
Is it bad to clip the jumper off?
Super !
Would this help to reset code 41-11 on a 2007 honda civic lx?
This video definitely worked 4 me. My light is now off n I'm finally glad 2 not c it no more
when should I insert the yellow plug into fuse box after deleting the airbag light?
By the way, my car is a 2000 Honda Accord. It does run good , it should , all new parts under hood.
Thank you
Excellent but where to get jumper plug ?
Qué método usarías para resetear una ECU de Honda Crv 2000?
Will this work on my 2002 Acura cl

I could not get a good connection on the plug used Alligator connectors on a paper clip, 6 times a charm honda crv 2002 be patient
Hi, I like the nice video as I am having same problem and looking for the solution. I have Honda Accord 2003 LxSedan. My seatbelt was locked and now repaired. But airbag light is on continuously. Would you please help me to locate the SRS port and how to take it out? I saw two yellow ports underneath the steering wheel just above the fuse box but none of them come out...is there any trick to take out?
You have to push in a small tab on side this unlocks, push in tab, pull apart.
Do you actually start the car when doing this?
I have Prelude 5 from 1997, will it work?
Great video! Will this work on my 2002 Honda Ruckus?
You have an air bag on that?
Great info but mine didn't work it blinked but stayed on, ok just found in the comments mine had been in a wreck so you responded need new airbags and module
Does that release the seat belt
Is it working on CRV 2008 also?
Do you leave that yellow plug unplugged or do I plug it back in after ?
plugged in or not doesn't matter, it's just a dummy hole that just holds the plug up out of the way
Perfect! Worked on 2000 odyssey! Thank you!
Does it work with an 8th gen hatchback Civic?
Will this work on a 2011 tsx wagon???
Did you left it unplugged?
Would this work on a Honda civic 2011?
I have a 06 ridgeline and I’m going to replace the deployed airbags but I’m wondering when I do if I’ll need to reset the srs. Does anyone know?
Cesar hi ,I have a issue with the p 1632 code and it does not go past 3.000 rpm when driving the car on the road,I can hear spark jumping inside the cap can you please point me in the right direction. I never had a honda and this one runs good it’s a 2001 accord dx 2.3L automatic but it was running ok had to replace a few parts and then this happened thanks for the video.
Had the same problem with my 2002 S2000. Easiest place to start is check for a loose gas cap. If it is, tighten to correct number of clicks. Then drive until computer resets itself. Usually about 20 miles for me.
Is no way to active it accidentally the air bag doing that?
Works on Civic Ep2 D16V1… problem solved. Happened when driving without seat to garage.
Hi, I found the yellow plug, and used a paper clip on it. However, the SRS light never turned off. Where do I go from here?
Same thing for me
Just fixed mine make sure the yellow wire doesn't connect to and pins on the female end as I had the wrong plug on my Odyssey the right one was a bit hidden in the dash
