Do you still see your SRS light when you close your eyes to go to sleep?
I can help! I'm going to show you how to read the error codes in your SRS module, tackle the most common cause for an error and then reset the light.
There are many ways to "skin the cat" and these are the methods that I use. Any criticisms or alternate methods posted in the comments are welcome, just keep it civil.

I just followed your instructions and cleaned and lubricated the sensor and now, SRS light is gone! Thank you so much! Honda would not cover my sensor issue under the lifetime seat belt warranty, unfortunately, even though the sensor is part of the seat belt buckle assembly lol. You are correct as Honda does not "typically " cover the sensor issue - some people have gotten theirs covered and unfortunately I was not one of those. But, this literally took me 10 minutes and I cleared the code using my scanner, so thanks so much! Much faster than waiting at the dealership for hours!

The SRS light has been on about a week on my 2001 Honda Accord. Try to fix it over the weekend. Found your easy to understand and detailed video. I followed exactly the steps you provided and the light is gone now (the code is 9-3). Opening up the plastic case of the buckle took me a little longer than expected. Other than that, everything went smoothly. Thank you for your effort to help us!

Great video. Keep trying. I had my SRS light on my 2001 Honda Accord. I tried cleaning my seatbelts buckles but after opening buckle case the springs and parts went everywhere. Same for pass side.
I ended up buying two new Honda buckles at dealership for $250. Ouch.
Installed those and then tried the SRS method you shown to jump and the sequence to reset.
After trying paper clip and different copper diameter as a jumper, I couldn’t get my SRS light to change or turn off following your exact steps in video to reset. I kept trying and about to give up and finally the SRS light went away one time. Then removed one side of jumper for SRS light to come back on and then could not get it to go off again and then see it blink twice. So kept trying your sequence and holding wire in and finally got it to go through entire sequence and blink twice and disappear for good.
Long story short just keep trying and have the diameter of wire to fit in good. Hold one side of jumper tight with finger tip and other side you’ll have to remove for sequence.
Finally after years of annoying SRS light on dash it’s gone.
    Thx for this video

    Hi
I enjoy watching your informative videos.
On that note....I have an issue with newly purchased 2001 Honda Accord EX. It seems the passenger seat side airbag had deployed during the first (and only) owner. They claim it was not in an accident, and there is no sign of one. This could occur from other issues like bumpy roads, etc. My question is - If I use a resistor on the airbag harness, and the light turns off, is it because the resistor "tricks" the module to think the side airbag is still in- and will the other srs airbags will function normally in an accident?. Or, does the light just turn off and I'm screwed ?
    Thanks

Aye bro, I have the same problem with my 2000 accord. However, I see your car has over 300,000 miles on it. I just wanted to know what you put into the car (part wise) to get that many miles. I have the same car and I have been putting a ton of money into my accord and the last thing I'm dealing with is the belt buckle system. I'm wanting to know if it's worth it to continue to put money into the car or should I just unload it.

It depends on the scan tool. It may need to use Mercedes OBD2 software to actually clear the codes, even though it's reading the generic data. I don't think SRS data would be generic, but I could be wrong. Did the scan tool auto recognize the car and VIN?

If you have a volt meter, can you see if the battery is showing 14 volts when it's running? If not, your alternator could be bad. All those lights make me think also that you have a bad ground somewhere or the PCM failed.

FYI there are a bunch of tools out of China that support SRS codes/reset and Immobilizer programming. Probably a bit excessive for this generation as there are only a few bidirectional controls that it supports, but the immobilizer programming is handy.
