Oh this is good news! Thank you so much for documenting this awful treatment of these poor horses and contacting authorities. My heart is shattered looking at them and thinking of how desperate they are, just pushing away to get to your hay, so hungry.
you did a good thing, thank you for taking action! from the harassment it sounds like this family has some issues, and they can't seem to accept they aren't able to care for these animals.
You did a good thing - it's amazing how being a good neighbor can't even get you somewhere with people. I'm happy to hear the horses are getting taken care of now. I could never treat my horse that way ❤
The fact that the horses are so hungry that they're trying to BREAK DOWN HIS FENCE to get to his hay?? That is so, so sick. I hope those horses end up in a much more caring home.
NGL, when I saw this comment before watching the video, I kinda expected some Tiktoker who doesn't know horses freaking out because a horse did something goofy to get at extra hay. Horses can be really greedy and if they something that looks particularly tasty, they can do goofy things and look like they're starving when they're really just drama queens. I was so horrified seeing the pictures. It's normal to see a bit of a horse's ribs sometimes, but not like THAT. Poor, poor creatures.
Tbh I have had fat, well fed horses break fences to get to the yummy food so it’s not really that telling. But the fact they are starving is making them too desperate to stop breaking the fence
The hay could’ve been left inside so after they finish what they’ve finished they go to the hay that they can see because of barbed wire fence is see-through You didn’t see any evidence of him mistreating animals or anything that was bad and you instantly thought bad of somebody that you don’t know just even has a mindset that should worry And also making fun of something and making light of something that is nonsensical to you as a human because obviously we are not horses it’s not the same making fun of it would be ha ha your foot is damaged or your hoof is damaged because you are greedy.
@@SavageMinnow I never said that either. I am aware that horses are known to be dramatic, but this coupled with the other evidence is what makes it horrible to imagine.
poor animals. horses are very expensive and time consuming to own, so if you’re not willing to put in the work and money you better give them to someone who will :(
I have a huge love for animals and have lots of fish, reptiles, etc. as well as a few dogs and a cat but I know damn well I couldn’t care for a horse that’s why I don’t have one 😭
Absolutely! They are super expensive and time consuming. Their stalls need cleaned daily and they need a lot of feed and supplements which gets expensive fast. When you decide to take on an animal you are promising that you will properly care for them for the rest of their lives. I would never advocate for someone to rehome their animals but in this case the humane thing to do would be for her to give them to someone who is willing to take on their care and expense since she's obviously not in a position to do so. The fact that they gave her 90 days to get her animals healthy is disgusting, their condition is very clearly deteriorating and it's obvious that no one has been out to check on their progress. I know people that have skipped entire days of eating because they chose to spend the small amount of money they had on feeding their pets!
I knew a person who put her horses down because she couldn’t afford them. She apparently “loved them so much I don’t want anyone else to have them.” It was then and there I stopped associating with horse people.
I don't know her but I live here, and I'm going to find out who the hell she is. Not to harass her but to make sure I'm not supporting her. Ngl, my town has never been in internet drama before, I'm kinda keyed up
Those horses are definitely starving. Can't digest the food, what hay they do it probably messes with their guts making them lose more weight. Horses don't come for a feed bucket makes me believe these horses have been tricked before and don't believe they'll get food if they follow their owners
Mistrust is most often from being lured with food for punishment. A food desperate animal wouldn't refuse immediate food unless they were afraid of the source. If they're breaking into other property for food but won't take it from the owners, those horses have been punished. The owner did mention that they don't like whips, so I wouldn't be surprised if they did get whipped
I figured since he has pictures going back awhile he was going to get people involved but unfortunately with that a lot of times you have to do that more than once and showing a history of behavior and the neglect is what is often needed.
@@reinasherman8009 Yup- I'm in Aotearoa NZ & have worked in animal welfare positions here. I'm not sure of exactly what it is like in the USA, but here, the process is long & a charity has to be willing to take them to court & pay for that & the burden of proof is extremely high. It's extremely difficult to remove animals unfortunately
The auto gate has a bar and piston. If you force it it bends/breaks the mechanics. She knew that. She pulled the pin from the pistion/bar, when you do that the gate swings freely. What a biscuit 🤬
I was looking for this comment! My neighbour accidentally broke mine after his cattle pushed through and he came to get them while I wasn't home. At least he left me a note and apologised, I gave him the gate code after that incase it ever happened again.
The easiest example (while not quite accurate) is someone has the ability to turn the door knob but after opening said door, closes the door and opens the door by popping the hinges and attempting to use the door knob and deadbolt as hinges. Needless to say, the door frame is busted.
Why do they even give people like this 90 days to get their animals healthy? Those poor babies should've been rescued immediately! DON'T OWN ANIMALS IF YOU'RE NOT GOING TO PROPERLY CARE FOR THEM FOR THEIR LIFESPAN!
Blame the laws however sometimes those laws have weird stipulation however the consequences are humorous to those who’s waiting for karma plus sometimes it’s probably just the amount of time to try to improve for people who actually want to keep their animals
@zoorenard1101 Absolutely- I promise you that everyone whoever works in animal welfare ends up very very depressed- check out the self unaliving stats for vets- they don't seem to bother taking stats for animal welfare officers & veterinary nurses(& vet techs), but we don't even get paid a living wage AND feel useless & frustrated & pissed 24/7
I used to have a neighbour that bought a horse because their children wanted one It was kept outside in a garden that's not big at all and wasn't fed much as it was usually eating trees and grass People took pictures to send to police They were forced to surrender their horse to a sanctuary Guess what they did They posted on Facebook how they had to give away their childrens beloved pet horse and now they're crying
I really enjoy the opposite too. My eyeball gets so much exercise. At least once per year there is an article in the newspaper about someone who is complaining about their new home; they moved into their dream house and somehow there is a pasture with horses right outside their kitchen window and they are SO incredibly allergic to horses and cannot possibly live like that. When you look further into the situation the pasture was there long before this person moved in, so it was there when they bought the house, most likely with the horses stomping around. Last time I checked horses were kinda big so... you didn't notice them? Riiiiight. Admittedly I am not too fond of horses (I can tell the difference between the front and back of a horse but that's about it).
@@P1-ne9cs Yeah, but if it's in a small yard, there's not going to be enough room for the horse to graze or exercise. Horses can live on just grass, (though they tend to live longer when supplanted,) but it's not enough if they can't roam far enough to get good grass.
I love the people that use their kids to manipulate sympathy on facebook after they get a pet taken away. Someone stole my coworker's elderly dog from in front of her house, and when the dog escaped their yard and ran back to her real home two weeks later, they started posting all over facebook how she was a horrible woman who stole their dog from their kids and that she was abusing her (even though they shaved the dog so far down she had bald patches, were feeding her so much that in only two weeks she got fat, and her kids were clearly doing something to her because when they came to demand her back, she was terrified of them).
I know exactly why this lady would call him out for being an "animal abuser". It's simply because she's 🙌✨️PROJECTING✨️🙌 Seems to be common behavior for crappy and insecure people.
@@sabertoothno34 I was under the impression that horses were smart... I think I was wrong. They just have kind eyes and occasionally listen to instructions. Apparently barreling through fences and just in general being idiots is perfectly normal behavior even when horses Aren't starving.
@@Honeymooncakeprey animals are always insane in some really special ways. Rabbits are the same, just on a smaller scale. Like horses, they have relatively fragile bodies that are built for speed, and NO discretion about what they will do with those bodies if startled or just in a silly goofy mood. It's not unheard of for rabbits to break a leg or even their spine when they jump too hard. They can physically jump harder and higher than their bodies can take, basically. Oh, and for some godforsaken reason, they also really like to climb. Counters, bookshelves, etc. It's super fun. And they have incredibly delicate digestive systems, again like horses, but absolutely no filter for what they will attempt to eat. My younger bun ate a quarter of a scented candle recently. My older bun ate half of a moldable eraser. There is no way that either of those things tasted delicious, but they were both mad as hell when I took them away. Fortunately, they had no stomach problems as a result, but both incidents could've been expensive vet visits at the very least. I HAVE had to drag my older bun to the vet when his whole little digestive system shut down (a thing they can do for some reason, but which is usually fatal if untreated) because he stole and ate too much of my potted basil plant in one sitting and it gave him gas. Ooh, also he got high as balls one time because he managed to get to my coffee plants, which I had carefully placed way out of reach (I thought), and devoured them. I loved those damn plants, and he was not sorry for a second. He was turbo charged for about an hour, and then I'm pretty sure he could hear colors and see sounds for a while.
I used to follow thebeardedbard for his dnd tiktoks years ago. Always seemed like a solid nice dude. Seems like he still is! Anyone who has dealt with horses can tell the neighbor's horses are being neglected.
TheBeardedBard already has an update! He found out that the owner stepped in to try to help more horses than she could afford to and got in over her head quickly. However, help is incoming via the state, the sheriff's office, and a rescue group (Wild Heart's Rescue Ranch)! The horses and the owner are now going to get the resources they need, which is fantastic news and he has happily since buried the hatchet : )
That’s still crazy negligent. I get having good intentions but it means nothing if you’re just collecting horses like trading cards (or anything for that matter) with no idea how to care for them or how it affects other people, that’s just dumb.
@@CaulkMongler Trust me, I know. I was literally just reiterating what TheBeardedBard said himself in the video 🤷♀ I wish the horses had been removed from her care due to the negligence.
TheBeardedBard posted an update yesterday that they are working with a horse rescue called Wild Hearts Rescue, the horses are getting the care they need, and that the hatchet between him and his neighbor is officially buried! I did have an interaction in the comments of one of the videos a few days ago with someone who knows the family involved or possibly one of the family members themselves and boy, were they claiming a lot more than just delivering 2 tons of hay. Basically, it boiled down to the dude claiming the one horse is 26 and SHOULD look like that (no mention of the other's conditions), claimed that all the land was legal grazing land (including "his yard, my yard ALL OF IT" so private property?), mentioned that they're legally going after TheBeardedBard for breaking the covenant (grazing) law, and that TheBeardedBard was blocking the horses access to shelter and food. They however did not like me questioning them back to try and understand their side and refused to discuss the property damage issue, if the "shelter" was TheBeardedBard's personal horse shelter on his private property, or anything really. The account has since been banned and most of the comments he made are gone, but the important thing is the horses are safe now. 💙
I remember you and him going back and forth. I appreciate how cordial you were in doing that, but he was misconstruing a lot of facts. The land up here is grazing land up until a private owner fences their property in. The horses can go around my property, it just takes longer. And the 26 year old horse is actually 8, the original owner saw the video and reached out to me.
What's funny is that... that's how horses are. Horses are always hurting themselves. It's just something horses do even if they're treated very well by their owners.
Horses wake up every day with one of two thoughts on their mind and both are related to bodily harm. They either aim to cause it to themselves or another living being
When a horse dies you always have to rule out self inflicted accidental injury. My mother's friend's horse literally killed himself by holding its head under the water in it's own water bucket. He had fluid in it's lungs and even the vet couldn't save him, he died 7 days later.
@rainbowfranklin I worked with horses once and we had one who figured out how to open the fence to get to the feed. Got told that if he got to eat as much food as he wanted he would likely eat himself to death.
I used to watch a horse Lady on Facebook, but I stopped watching her. Her horses are constantly pregnant: one heat cycle to the next. She breeds and sells racehorses. She doesn’t give them a break because to quote her, “in the wild, they would constantly be pregnant from one heat cycle to the next”. Dairy cows get a break because it’s better for them, but not her horses.
I think I know who you’re talking about, or someone similar at least, on youtube rather than facebook. People have tried to correct her that she shouldn’t be breeding them back to back, but she just won’t listen.
@@ghoultooth i’m sure she’s on CZcams too, I just follow some dairy cow people on Facebook and it showed up as a recommended thing. I fell down her rabbit hole for a little bit, and briefly was following her channel before I stopped after she let that tidbit out. Can’t support that; that’s horrible for the horses. just because it happens in nature doesn’t mean it’s in the well-being of of the animal.
She's also full of shit. In wild herds, a mare keeps her foal from 1.5 to 2 years old, which affects her hormones. While the mare will experience foal heat, in most cases of a large herd, a wild stallion just doesn't have time to mount every lady in time to induce pregnancy. Further, outside influences of rogue males can cause the females to abort a pregnancy. So no, it _doesn't_ happen like that in the wild, except in very small herds with no other stallions anywhere near them.
@@hailey.hah01 I looked it up. Her name is Katie Van Slyke. Her horses are constantly constantly going through never ending cycles of pregnancy and nursing and no breaks. First saw her because it got recommended by facebook after a Iowadairyfarmer video, love him. But She is truly terrible.
That depends on the reaction. "Not trusting" is just a sign of a lack of attachment. That is NOT a sign of abuse. At all. What so ever. If they show _overt fear_ around the owners and won't even approach them without reticence... _then_ maybe start considering abuse. I've seen dogs and horses and goats and all sorts of other farm animals with personalities that just... aren't very social. That's _totally fine._ Just like with humans, you should only consider it a problem if it becomes _anti_ -social behavior, not just a-social behavior.
No not necessarily at all, like the above comment states it is dependent on the horses and their situation, it certainly does not mean physically abused.
@@zombiebullshark3834 The biggest mistake humans make is assuming all animals, _especially other mammals,_ are just some ... other weird "animal" that experiences the world vastly differently. That's ... just wrong. Animals, _especially mammals,_ are EQUIVALENT to extremely dumb humans. If you treat animals like extremely dumb humans, suddenly animal rights and (good) farming practices and all sorts of things suddenly make A LOT of sense. Humans LOVE to pretend we're so special, but we're just merely a highly communicative species. That's it.
@@ashkebora7262This is true, though I would find it weird that a starving horse wouldn't come to a treat bucket. It makes me wonder if attachment is the issue and not hitting or other sources of fear.
8:09 I would be really upset to learn that the ranch wasn’t feeding my horse, especially if it’s a family member. And most places charge for board and feed. So it sounds like potentially she was scämming her own family as well as stärving the poor horses. Just awful 😢
Might wind up as big bingo sheet. I'm sure that there will eventually be "convent drama tiktok" "astrophysicist drama tiltok" and "octopus drama tiktok". There are forms of drama that I hadn't even considered before.
This is not drama, this is animal abuse. Of course, the neighbors shouldn’t receive death threats, but did they expect to be treated nicely when they were abusing their horses? I fully support of having the horses being taken away from them
I’m a chicken farmer, and chickens are exponentially easier to care for than horses. And I still do like 1000x more work for them than this lady does for her horses. The neglect is so sad. I don’t understand how people can treat their animals like that. Mine are family.
Family? I'm sure you don't starve them but you also don't own chickens for company, you use and profit of of their bodies. Being selectively bred to become fat as quickly as possible/to lay an egg every single day, eliminating all male offspring because they're useless for laying, and killing chickens at a fraction of their natural lifespan for monetary gain isn't very animal friendly either. And not something I'd put my family through.
@@beverlyraven2748 i know a lot of folks who have chickens, they all love those birds as much as any family with a dog or cat. it's weird to assume OP's chickens are making them a "profit", for all you know they do in fact have a rooster or two. be mad at chicken farming on an industrial scale, not normal people with pets who just happen to lay eggs. you DO understand that hens lay eggs as a normal part of being alive, right? you couldn't really stop them if you tried, well unless you don't feed them enough or neglect them i guess. but a healthy hen lays eggs whether you want them to or not. and ffs, they're not killing their pets at any point in the chickens' lives?? because that's their PET, part of the family. have you ever actually met someone who keeps chickens as pets, or do you just presume anyone with a chicken just sees dollar signs and food? just totally bizarre of you to make such harsh accusations at a total stranger who is literally talking about how much they love and care for their chickens, the complete opposite of whatever you're trying to claim. this is "crazy vegan" levels of stupid, the kind of rhetoric that gives vegans a bad reputation in the first place. go yell at actual animal abusers, like backyard breeders who see dogs as objects to make money out of, and leave loving pet owners alone.
@@Darkfyyre I'm "assuming" OP farms chickens because they're calling themselves a chicken farmer. Farmer is a job. Jobs are supposed to make you money. You are the one reading things that aren't there, bringing up pets and going on a tangent out of absolutely nowhere. I know chickens naturally lay eggs, but the amount of eggs they lay is due to selective breeding. The ancestor of the modern chicken used to lay a couple of eggs a year. Having to lay an egg every single day after humans made you that way puts an enormous strain on your body and causes multiple issues such as calcium deficiency (which will lead to brittle and broken bones), fatty liver syndrome, etc. If it's abuse to intentionally breed dogs and cats to be brachycephalic, have folded ears (i.e. joint disease) or have short legs, then it's also abuse to intentionally breed chickens to overexert their bodies for your consumption pleasure. Lastly i have met people who have kept chickens as pets, since I am one myself. I feel strongly about chickens because I used to have three and I did love them as pets, we lost them almost a year ago to a marten that broke into their coop. I was devastated for weeks and haven't really gone to their coop since. So that's why I'm angry people could intentionally see chickens as barely more than product, and use and kill them as a job. And you're fully allowed to think I'm a crazy vegan, a lot of people don't like people who go against the grain. Personally I think non vegans are crazy for calling to hang backyard breeders and hoarders but turning a blind eye to pigs getting their tails and teeth clipped without anaesthetic, cows being impregnated year after year only to have their babies taken so their breast milk can be sold to humans, calves being locked in cages where they can't move so their meat stays tender, chickens never seeing the sun or feeling grass under their feet, breaking their legs under their own weight and cannibalizing each other due to stress, livestock being very obviously terrified when they have to go through the slaughterhouse to be gassed or get a painful and often ineffective stunning before the having their throat slit,... Do I need to go on?
@@beverlyraven2748Uhhhh huge amount of assumptions from you, but go off? I quite literally do keep them for companionship and companionship only. I never, ever cull them, and in fact, spend a fortune on them at the vet regularly. When they stop laying from old age, they get to live out their lives happily with me just as they always have. I certainly wouldn’t want to be a part of YOUR family, weirdo.
@@beverlyraven2748I call myself a chicken farmer because they produce an abundance of eggs, and I don’t even like eggs, so I sell them to locals. Wtf is wrong with you?
Gods this is like my neighbors dogs. They would break out to run to my dog’s kennel because, they knew I always had food available. Sometimes I would let them stay the night with my dog to play and give them food, water and treats. Just to be properly taken care and fed good for once. Sad part, one of them died from neglect. I go by and feed the dog that still alive every time I go walk mine. Public shaming won’t do anything to help the dog nor animal control. Plus they just got a female dog to breed. I can’t stand it.
@@somethingsomething404 They’re American bullies. The short stocky ones with the larger head. I ended adopting an American Pitbull mix (did dna testing). They wanted to have their male dog mate with mine because she has the blue eye mutation. I had her fixed so fast in case they even tried to steal her they wouldn’t be able to breed her.
That sucks man. You can tell someone’s personality by how they treat their animals and really great of you to let the dogs in. Good luck with dealing with them in the future
that must be so frustrating and heartbreaking, i’m sorry the authorities haven’t done anything, i fucking hate how easy it is for people to get away with abusing and neglecting their animals
I had horses growing up and the conditions these horses are in is sickening. Feeding oats 2x per day is pretty standard but the HAVE to have hay/grass to graze on throughout the day to supplement their diet. It’s sad how common mistreatment of horses is - someone down the street from my house had a small farm with one horse and a few years ago they were cited for mistreating and starving their single remaining horse
What the neighbor is going is gross and terrible, but never send them death threats! There is NO REASON to give death threats to anyone and it doesn't help anything, probably only makes it worse.
Gates like that work similarly to doors. She basically pulled the hinges off his door. I’m not sure how hard of a fix it would be but that’s still pretty messed up. It’s already clear they don’t care about their own horses but they don’t need to be putting their neighbors animals at risk too
This guy seems really chill. He didn’t go overboard with his accusations, he brought receipts, he never insulted them directly, and he even stated that he would be happy if they were given help as long it meant the horses were taken care of. His mind is fully just for the horses and that is wonderful to see. It’s so nice seeing one of these TikTok “dramas” (stories? Drama feels like the wrong word) that the person isn’t trying to get views or anything and was really just trying to eyes on an issue for the animals. Good for him.
As someone who owns a horse that was starved for months, he didn’t trust me for months that he was gonna have consistent food for the rest of his life. I can’t imagine those horses ever trusting those owners again. Awful.
As someone who grew up in the country (AKA. the boonies or outskirts), you ger along with your neighbors for a variety of reasons more than you would in town. We grew an organic garden every year. Neighbors on the left had horses, neighbors on the right had sheep, and a friend down the road had cows that we co-owned. The dirt in our area was heavy in clay so we made a system. We would take the horse manure one year and cow the next year. It helped balance out the soil. Both had an extreme surplus that they were happy give away for free. Our veggies went crazy and produced more than we could eat so both had an open door policy if they wanted some. The over ripe fruit went to the neighbor with the sheep. The sheep loved the vegetables and my neighbor was able to save money on feed. Country life is all about working together. Sad that these neighbors couldn't figure out a relationship. 😢
People who send death threats to strangers on the internet are the biggest cowards of them all. How pathetic do you have to be to threaten someone because you’re mad?
I have watch the bearded bard for years now and this has actually been a huge problem for at least all of 2023. He just hasn't said much only giving information when the fence was broken or when he has tried (with no success) to get help. Law enforcement finally just got involved it seems and now as of present the horses have been sponsored by a rescue to help get them healthy.
This is horrible! Laws need to change when it comes to animal abuse and neglect. People shouldn’t have 90 days to get the situation handled when they are starving their animals or inflicting any other harm on them. And it shouldn’t just be a slap on the wrist when authorities finally do step in. A fine doesn’t deter anyone from animal abuse and neglect. There should also be a system put in place that prevents people like that from having any animals ever again. I really hope the horses get taken somewhere where they will get plenty of food, water, love and care. They deserve it.
So it turns out that his neighbour doesnt "own" all of the horses. The neigbouring family took it upon themselves to help some possibly abandoned horses, but do not have enough money and weren't asking for help. They have brought in a horse rescue organisation.
The gate opener he said she broke, is an electric motor attached to the gate. Usually works with a chain, activated from a key fob. If you manually force it open, it can tear whatever mechanism links the motor (ie. Gearbox, or sprocket directly on motor shaft) to the chain.
i have been absolutely LOVINGGG these super niche drama breakdowns. it gets so repetitive seeing other channels posting about the same stuff meanwhile markie is out here posting about cakes, horses, a fake amish girl, etccc 😭😂😂
He shared a new video either yesterday or this morning. The neighbor got in over her head trying to help someone else by taking over the care of these horses. This Tiktoker is now helping his neighbor work with a horse rescue organization. The neighbor was embarrassed, humiliated, and frustrated at failing these horses and wasn't communicating. She is now talking with this guy and getting the help she needs to get these horses proper care. This guy is actually a great guy.
This is like the people across the road from my uncle’s cattle farm getting angry at my uncle that they were reported by someone (not my uncle) reporting the dead and starving horses on a property that was too small to house the number of horses that were on the property. Horse people are kinda crazy and it’s why we stick with cattle honestly. Unfortunately some of the horses didn’t survive but the humane society saved some. The owner is still on the run in my area. This happens more often than some people know. It makes me sad because we take so much care of our animals.
This makes me SO MAD. I/my family have had horses my whole life until mine died 5-6 years ago now. And even after that I’ve been working on another horse-farm to help with feeding, grooming and horse ridning-tours and NOTHING about this is OK. This is not just them not KNOWING how to take care of their horses THEY DON’T CARE!! He also could have, should have outed them a long time ago and also kept calling authorities over and over again until those horses were safe
I will never figure out how you manage to not only find the most niche corners of tiktok, but also drama within them. Bravo, sir. Edit: damn dude this one ain't even drama this is some serious shit.. no wonder the title said "situation" instead of "drama". That's so messed up. I fucking hate people who choose to own animals and not take care of them properly.
I've been around horses all my life. That neighbour's horses are very thin and not being properly cared for. He needs to report their condition to an organisation which will take them for treatment.
The equivalent of dog owners are those that keep their dogs outside all the time. Dogs ARE NOT lawn decorations. Horses ARE NOT a status symbol. Freaking _take care_ of your animals, people!! They DO have feelings. They DO have personalities. If you disagree, you're just literally an unsympathetic monster.
Or people who keep their dogs inside all the time and never take them out. My mother has a boxer who stays in a one bedroom apartment and goes to the bathroom on potty pads. It's so upsetting. And we tell her to get rid of the dog so it can have a good life but she won't.
I’ve been seeing this unfold from the start and it’s so disheartening and sad, everything is just so messed up and wrong. The one that was infuriating though is the Gretchen horse drama that was infuriating
I mean, plenty of places (especially auctions that get all the Craigslist horses that don't get sold/given away) you can get one for a couple hundred bucks. hell, horses in a kill-pen (cheap, lame, sick, old, etc, that are getting sent to a slaughterhouse in bulk if they don't get sold) can sometimes be like 300-500 bucks. now *caring* for a horse after you get it, that's the big chunk of change that these people thinking they're getting "such a good deal on my new pony!" get tripped up by, and it either ends with either this situation (neglect), or just flat-out dumping the poor animal right back where they got it. :\
It takes a certain type of person to hurt a defenceless animal. If they can't afford to feed their horses and get their fence fixed then they should surrender them immediately!
The guy should have involved the SPCA if it's that bad or he saw abuse. Instead of tik tok go to police. This drama is causing more issues than solutions. These horses need out. That should be priority.
I can’t understand how anyone jumps to 💀threats. To anyone. It’s gross and goes too fvcking far. Yet it seems to happens constantly. Good for this guy for saying he would stand up for someone he clearly dislikes to prevent ☠️. Respect.
Bro if there's one thing I know about the horse world, it is FILLEDDDD with drama and EVERYONE knows better than everyone else. The horse world would be a wealth of material for a drama deep dive. Glad these animals got help though
You could honestly fund an entire channel on horse drama, there is so much of it on TikTok, Insta, Facebook, YT, etc. And it’s always the ones who don’t care for their animals properly that are the first to complain, speaking from experience.
Those poor animals. They shouldn't have horses if they can't care for them. Horses are a lot like large dogs with how close they get with people if you have never been around them. They even play a lot like them when they're playful.
Given the dreadful state of the horses, the abuse (which it absolutely is) has been going on for some time; the animals need rehousing urgently. What a horrendous situation for the animals 😢
something you didnt cover in this is that one of those neighbors tried to run his wife and children off the road, and chased them all the way to the gate. he then threatened to kill the wife and kids, and the kids had to run and get beardedbard to intervene. and that was BEFORE the guy then arrived to try and get the horses off his land!! and beardedbard STILL tried to help them with that! that guy is facing legal action i think.
I love that every video exposes me to genres of social media I'm not typically exposed to. We have a neighbor who gets their horses taken away for abuse like all the time. They pay a fee and get them back but never feed them. The system is broken 🤷♂️
There was someone in my neighboorhood growing up who jad 2 white horses and a big beautiful barn...that the horses were NEVER allowed inside. Ever. Rain, shine, freezing cold PA winters. Half the town called animal services on them and we suspect they paid them off or something because nothing was ever done even when they stopped feeding them often enough. Even when one died and they tried to replace it so nobody would notice (we did). Horses take a lot of time effort and money and when people abuse them its just so so baffling and awful.
I own horses, and pasture them 24/7 many stock horses are able to handle harsh winters. But we ALWAYS make sure they have a large round bale of hay and grain. While 24/7 pasturing is healthier you must provide basic needs. Our horses live in a valley so very little wind. They have thick coats and we constantly monitor their hay supply and replace it when needed. Letting your horses 'run' all winter without proper food isn't good. And by the way she tells it are these horses stalled most of the Year? if so their winter coats are thin and they should stay stalled. And those body conditions are terrible. Stock breed horses shouldn't show their ribs they are ment to be stocky hence the name! And half the heard didn't follow for grain/treats?! That's insane horses are brilliant judges of character and as loyal as any dog. That woman did something to those poor horses that they wouldn't come for grain or treats
as an equestrian who works in the rescue industry- it is amazing that non equestrians are talking abt this, the horse world is often disappointing and you have no idea about the large amount of people who do this and don't get caught
after i watch these videos sometimes i find the accs stalk for like 5 minutes see ppls opinions and how they’re reacting, and then i move on with my day. what do people think death threats do to help the situation? i really can’t understand.
My mil in Florida went on someone's property because of starving horses. No water, hoves that were about 8inches long. She got the cops called on her. The tols her she had to leave or she was being trespassed. She told them that when she gave the ssome water she would leave. Then she took pictures and put them on fb and told people the situation. She left the property but stayed on the road. People started to call the police and people started showing up to the property. Police couldn't ignore the situation and more. Then she told the police she wasn't leaving now until the horses are rescued. They were. Unfortunately duebto the condition of the horses were very bad. 4 were rescued,2 were very underweight, but survived. 2 were really bad had ulcers, painful hoves bones showing through skin. 1 did die the others survived and were nursed back to health anddod find homes. The person who had them is being prosecuted. Thats all i know right now
I can't with all the dramatoks! I'm dead. Lmao Love the videos you give us. *edit* I haven't viewed all of the video yet. Now I have, disgusting. People that can't take care of animals, shouldn't. The ones that shouldn't but do anyways, should go to jail.
I dont at all feel bad for this woman for getting death threats. Id never advocate for that kind of behavior, but if you starve animals so bad that theyre breaking fences to try and find food, you deserve whatever the general public gives you.
2008 recession had a lot of horse owners dumping their horses and turning them to the meat industry and another kerfuffle when ground meats were found to have horse meat mixed in.
Those poor horses. They deserve to be treated so much better. I worked in veterinary medicine for over 15 years, and the number of abused and neglected animals I encountered was heartbreaking and frightening.
Old horses need a lot more care than younger one's. Feeding hay with mould will give them colic and eventually can kill them. They look like they need a good worm as well as their teeth being done. A reputable horse welfare group needs to be informed. Horses are expensive and need knowledgeable care and husbandry. Awful situation.
4 horses will go thru a bale of hay a day in good weather. Twice that in bad weather, and that's with supplemental grain. So unless she's dumping shitloads of hay.....big yikes.
I understand the rage and anger people feel when animals are mistreated, I feel very strongly about the rights of animals but threats made by some random dude on tiktok is never going to help and often makes the situation worse. I'm glad that these horses have TheBeardedBard to look out for them, he is an amazing person! I hope that these horses can soon live the live they deserve and eat the yummiest and healthy hay
I feel you when you say you don’t understand the thought process behind why someone would do this. I do agree with you in that I can’t personally fathom why either, but I can tell you from experience that those who are quickest to point the finger at others often have far more skeletons in their closet. It’s pretty much the same across the board when it comes to bad behavior, those who are quick to call out others are often worse themselves. Like a cheater who constantly accuses their partner of cheating, etc…
My siblings keep sending me TikToks. I have never been interested in joining that app, so I really appreciate you taking one for the team(non tiktok users) and doing the research to put these videos together.
I rarely comment, but please cover the GrungeKitty situation involving her 14 year old child’s school asking for information about her pregnancy. It’s an incredibly wild situation and many think it could be a way for the school to involve CPS in families with suspected “problems” based on the school’s arbitrary guidelines.
If the bay is older it needs supplements and specific feed in its diet, such as hay pellets or softer elderly horse feeds, which can be very costly, just hay itself, depending on where you are from is very costly. As much as this person may love horses, they may not be able to afford to keep them healthy, and at that point it is better to give them to a rescue to make sure they are properly taken care of, or rehomed to someone who can afford to take care of them. Writing about horse rescues, with this title, I thought maybe you had stumbled across the drama in the horse rescue world.
Had someone with a vendetta accuse me of mistreating my animals (my cat had cancer and I euthanized him the day after the diagnosis, this person accused me of “letting him suffer for months without caring for him” and claimed to be our vet tech, which he was not and the vet records showed he was in great health other than asthma and was vetted multiple times a year because he was 18 and I wanted to keep him healthy and strong, he got throat cancer at the end of November and even then the vet said he had 1/10 pain and was hopeful it was an operable benign polyp) and within a day I had highlighted vet records, photos, videos, everything under the sun to prove them wrong. The fact she hasn’t posted anything proves she’s guilty. I hope he can just ask to have her horses so they can be rehomed to someone who treats her better.
Hi everyone, that’s me in the video. Things are looking much better for the horses, we are working with the local authorities and a rescue.
I could never treat my horse that way ❤
Hi, thanks for bringing attention to this!
Thank you for helping the animals
Horses will push thru a fence for a patch of grass that looks tastier than the one they are standing in. The fence pushing itself is not a red flag.
The hay could’ve been left inside so after they finish what they’ve finished they go to the hay that they can see because of barbed wire fence is see-through
You didn’t see any evidence of him mistreating animals or anything that was bad and you instantly thought bad of somebody that you don’t know just even has a mindset that should worry
And also making fun of something and making light of something that is nonsensical to you as a human because obviously we are not horses it’s not the same making fun of it would be ha ha your foot is damaged or your hoof is damaged because you are greedy.
I have grown up around horses. Not only is feeding and boarding them expensive the vet bills are high as well.
She apparently “loved them so much I don’t want anyone else to have them.”
It was then and there I stopped associating with horse people.
There are rescues EVERYWHERE... Literally no reason to keep them other than to abuse them...
I have no interest in TikTok, but for some reason I look forward to these soap opera run down videos every day.
Same!
I deleted TikTok over a year ago and I was rarely shown the dramas anyway but I love listening to it 😂

She’s starving her horses. What a monster.

If food messes with a horses gut, they colic. If they aren't being taken care of properly, they d!e

And then she said that he wasn't allowed to have the gate opener.. like.. who exactly do you think you are?
I was looking for this comment! My neighbour accidentally broke mine after his cattle pushed through and he came to get them while I wasn't home. At least he left me a note and apologised, I gave him the gate code after that incase it ever happened again.
@leahwilson56 the basic concept of a genuine apology escapes so many people these days, it's honestly sad.
It's because if judges don't give you the opportunity to show how awful you are, their rulings can be overturned on appeals.
Blame the laws however sometimes those laws have weird stipulation however the consequences are humorous to those who’s waiting for karma plus sometimes it’s probably just the amount of time to try to improve for people who actually want to keep their animals
The older I get the more I realized that there are some awful and truly evil people out there.
3 months is a very long time to starve to 💀. Poor horses
I used to have a neighbour that bought a horse because their children wanted one
It was kept outside in a garden that's not big at all and wasn't fed much as it was usually eating trees and grass
People took pictures to send to police
They were forced to surrender their horse to a sanctuary
Guess what they did
They posted on Facebook how they had to give away their childrens beloved pet horse and now they're crying
These people never take responsability, it's always someone else's fault. They just can't comprehend that their actions have consequences.
Um horses eat grass and trees normally tho

As a horse owner, laughter is a coping mechanism for how expensive they can be 😂 especially when they do dumb things that get themselves hurt.
i hear that horses tend to hurt themselves on fences... a lot... in ways you'd think it wasn't possible
If you don't laugh you will cry. Love my horse but sometimes I wonder if she has a brain 😂
I used to follow thebeardedbard for his dnd tiktoks years ago. Always seemed like a solid nice dude. Seems like he still is! Anyone who has dealt with horses can tell the neighbor's horses are being neglected.
he actually seems so sweet and funny, but it's clear this situation is pushing him :( bad people deserve to be called out obviously

He seems like a genuinely good person, we need more like him.
I think I've met him irl! I live in the same town, I really wanna know who this is that's neglecting her horses...
yeah idk him but from this video he seems like a really good man
TheBeardedBard already has an update!
She left for Oregon for how many months? Thats not someone who " got over themselves ". They left them to fend for themselves. Its abandonment
Thank you for the update! Really wonderful to hear it had a happy ending
That's great news, thank you for the update.
Also 4 horses go through a balel of hay in about 3-4 days. So the hay needs to be refreshed atleast twice a week on a bale of hay
1.8 to 2.6 round bales equals 2 tons also

What's funny is that... that's how horses are. Horses are always hurting themselves. It's just something horses do even if they're treated very well by their owners.
Horses are just 1000 lbs toddlers
And they walk on literally the equivalent of a single finger lol
I’m only here to get more clues so I can unfollow or avoid because that’s horrid 😮 😩
Horses don't miss trust people because they don't feed them. That's from hitting them
That depends on the reaction.
@GlitterGlamGal OK it def seems like you know more. I've only worked with dairy cows
@@zombiebullshark3834 The biggest mistake humans make is assuming all animals, _especially other mammals,_ are just some ... other weird "animal" that experiences the world vastly differently.

Ugh. Backyard breeders are the worse. Let me guess they’re pit bulls?
@@somethingsomething404 They’re American bullies. The short stocky ones with the larger head. I ended adopting an American Pitbull mix (did dna testing). They wanted to have their male dog mate with mine because she has the blue eye mutation. I had her fixed so fast in case they even tried to steal her they wouldn’t be able to breed her.
That sucks man. You can tell someone’s personality by how they treat their animals and really great of you to let the dogs in. Good luck with dealing with them in the future
Hate when people treat animals like an object thats just their property wish we made it more strict for people to own them honestly.
that must be so frustrating and heartbreaking, i’m sorry the authorities haven’t done anything, i fucking hate how easy it is for people to get away with abusing and neglecting their animals
How the heck are they allowed to keep the horses? The neglect charges should automatically mean they lose their animals
People who hurt animals deserve nothing good in life.
That is literally my dream I want so badly to live in a community of farms just like you're describing
People who mistreat animals really upsets me 😢
Same. I couldn't even watch bc it will upset me too much so I am glad the comments have updates.
As someone who lived on a horse ranch and it was my job to take care of 20 horses. I couldn't imagine leaving any of my clients horses like this 😭
I don’t think these people pay a live in caretaker, they don’t even have the money to fix a fence
Horses are for rich people…
The gate opener he said she broke, is an electric motor attached to the gate.
That man is PASSIONATE about horses. Respect
The police already know and the neighbor already has a history of neglect in court, so I am curious why nobody has followed up or taken them away
@@Ashbrash1998 he's mentioned that where he is, they have really lax laws regarding animals, especially farm animals.
We need to start a MARKIE channel bingo that's filled with the most random topics and see how long it takes before there's a bingo 😂
the horse world has always had the most drama 🥱
"Horse Drama" is not a concept I thought I'd find on CZcams when I woke up this morning.
I’ve been seeing this unfold from the start and it’s so disheartening and sad, everything is just so messed up and wrong. The one that was infuriating though is the Gretchen horse drama that was infuriating
Most horses cost as much as a car…how were they able to afford to buy horses but not fix their fence?!
Anyone who can treat any animal like this is a sick gross criminal and deserves nothing but prison.
I cried so hard when this video popped up on my fyp. Those poor horses…
"'a bit' of trouble" would actually a good joke about horses, because a bit is a type of horse tack 😂
"wonder if he's dropped something new" 2 hrs ago almost every time 😂
Wonder if Raleigh Link would do a video on this? However not best to mock someone who has evidence of your dirty laundry.
I tease my big guy all the time by saying “awww, big head, no brain, all love”.
Why hasn’t law enforcement done anything? This is a failure on so many levels. Gross behavior.
Tbh i have no interest in having TikTok myself when I can learn about the most interesting niche drama with Callum 😂❤️
I wonder if they don't have the money or they're just neglectful
I’m always against sending “death threats” to people who are called out online. Animal abusers, however……
When animals are involved it makes me extra nervous
Those horses of that woman's deserve so much better than what they've gotten from her. I feel so bad for them.
I follow him, I guess I need to watch more than his DND content
2008 recession had a lot of horse owners dumping their horses and turning them to the meat industry and another kerfuffle when ground meats were found to have horse meat mixed in.
Im shocked these poor horses don't have bloat from trying to eat the crap "hay" they were being fed
I used to love this guy's channel when I had tiktok! He's very wholesome.
Good that there still are some good people that care for the animals. As for that woman, hope she gets taken to court for animal cruelty
I'm friends with some horse folks. I was certain I'd see one of them here 😂
Been refreashing for 20 mins yaaaaaaaaa new video
I forget tiktok even exists on my phone but im always here for the tea you spill for us, Markie
Never even installed it on my phone in the first place.
NARCISSISTS ARE ALWAYS RIGHT & NEVER MAKE MISTAKES in their own minds
