It’s actually funny how in the first clip it’s only James who’s roasting the Beetle, while the other two are asking why, and several seasons later they all hate it.
It took a while, but they saw the light.

What's hilarious to me is that Richard and James both own and love the 911 Porsche--a car made by the same man who designed the beetle, on the same chassis.

Jeff great channel I have done a couple of rack conversions to early Holdens. I used shortened commodore racks.
This could be a solution if you find a rack with the desired ratio and have it shortened or widened to suit so you can keep your stock steering arms and mount the rack in the correct position.
This will save you calculating your Ackerman's angle

God James may was funny, i know the script was written by clarkson, but he always nailed it. But then watching his stuff after top gear it was always exactly his sense of humour
Not sure about the script being written by JC , Richard Porter was the script editor and he is extremely funny .

Love your videos Ryan, but I have to disagree with you on this one based on personal experience. If I’d worn armour in my Kevlar jeans knee pocket it would have prevented the tarmac from burning through the material and a part of my knee. It would have also saved me from 6 months in hospital fighting sepsis from the infected wound. I would never consider leaving the house without my D3O now 🤔
