He kind of cheated by putting it on drivetribe, however the joy I feel everytime he I hear him say Thousand! knowing I was one of them makes up for it & some.

I remember this episode. He explains why after.
He got a friend of his to go to a Volvo main dealer, who’d taken the car as part exchange and was looking at a cost of £150 (at the time) to have the car scrapped. So she goes ‘I’ll give you a quid for it’, and presto he’s £151 up.

10:28 if you look closely, they edited it so that it would cover his failed writing with when Jeremy wrote his score by using the clip where he was writing in his own score. 10:35 you can see that the clip that the score he wrote isnt there anymore and the one in James's slot is all blurry and then he writes his own score. I have no idea why I noticed it but I noticed it.

Simply brilliant. Clarkson, Hammond and May were the best thing that came out of the BBC since Monty Python. It was almost Monty Python with cars.
I thought Hammond hated football, but he was spot on on that FA cup final between arsenal and United 😂

The British Leyland episode has to be one of my favourite episodes! It was RIDICULOUSLY funny with its challenges, and a great purpose to find a good BL car!

Safe, indestructible, and engines understressed for reliability so you can press out a lot of power, and your parents will only pick up on the first two qualities.

Good coverage of the basic modern(ish) engine. There’s so much more though, older designs with carburettors and overhead valves, newer designs with direct injection and hybrid assist. Diesels, 2 strokes, air cooled engines, superchargers, turbochargers, variable valve timing. And the really weird stuff like Wankel engines and 2 stroke diesels. I love stuff like this, i design engines as a hobby now
