- We won't be able to see the Eurovision 2020 stage design come to life this May. So we're admiring the last ten Eurovision stages. What was your favourite? Note: We filmed this in January prior to social distancing rules coming into effect in the UK.

i have just a proposal for wiwibloggs: since it's such a long time till next year's eurovision, it would be lit if you were able to do a monthly livestream just chatting with fans and perhaps also review every country the past decade, i reckon that it might be time for that now? thanks for your great work regardless!
2014 was the best one with the little river, and the stage seemed so huge. 2015' s stage seemed so small in comparison to the 2014 one.
DEBAN 👏did 👏not 👏 lie, 2014 was that YEAR stage-wise!
Love how everyone has 2014 as their favorite and in Denmark it was such a cause for stress because the project went so over budget
2014 the most unforgettable and wonderful due to its shape and design, 2016 the most impressive with the LED's and technological strokes
Top 5 Eurovision Stages
1. 🇩🇰 Copenhagen 2014
2. 🇩🇪 Düsseldorf 2011
3. 🇸🇪 Stockholm 2016
4. 🇦🇿 Baku 2012

Best one was definitely 2014.
2014 opened up for a hole new level of stageing. There was so many posibilities.

9.Sweden,Mälmo 2013🇸🇪
10.Norway,Oslo 2010🇳🇴
I think we can all agree 2014 stage was absolutely magical. So big, so breathtaking, and was probably massively expensive too.2016 pales in comparison..
TYSM! from denmark❤️❤️❤️❤️
2014 was such an impressive and unique stage, nothing is really comparable to it. On the other hand, 2010 was quite weak - not because of the lack of LEDs necessarily but the fact that that is the one thing people comment about that stage shows how unmemorable it was beyond that; with Lisbon the ship design will often come up before the talk of no LEDs. 2012 I wasn't the biggest fan of, the orange hue was quite jarring, and 2013 was far too small. I think 2014 takes the cake by a long way, and 2011's simplicity was also endearing.
2014 for sure, and 2017 is one of the most forgettable for me
Honestly 2018, I feel like it brought out more creativity from the delegations
My top 10:
1. 2014
2. 2016
3. 2019
4. 2018
5. 2011
6. 2017
7. 2012
8. 2013
9. 2015
10. 2010
2014 is probably one of the best stage ever!
my favorites are 2014 and 2016 by far, they gave every act justice and make them feel unique. when a stage can make the worst songs feel ok and bearable it is a good stage in my opinion
Why is nobody talking about Sweden 2013?
Diamond droplets coming in and out of stage, Diamond led cubes dropping in across the whole arena. It gave delegations a lot of creative flexibility to be able to stand out against one of the biggest LED backdrops too - not to mention the bridge!
1. Copenhagen 2014 🇩🇰
2. Tel Aviv 2019 🇮🇱
3. Stockholm 2016 🇸🇪
4. Düsseldorf 2011 🇩🇪
5. Lisbon 2018 🇵🇹
Best: 2014, 2011, 2017
Worst: 2010, 2015
2014= best stage
2016= best LED
Am I the only one who doesn’t really like the 2016 stage? Random lights in the middle of the stage, limiting where the artists could stand, and several different screens behind them which looked bad from certain angles?
2016 is better
2011 feel your heart beat was unbelievable
Germany 2011, will forever be my favorite stage of the last decade!!! The spinning green room was epic too.
Eldrine - One more day (Georgia) took the best use of everything possible on that stage

2014 hands down Then 2011 and 2018
taste
2018 is definitely my fav stage! As a lighting technician myself is was so beautiful to see only lighting. NO SINGLE PIXEL OF VIDEO.
i know this will sound weird but i liked the 2015 stage because the eye shape and generous size of the stage made the artists and the audience feel closer to each other...
agree
Exactly
That staging (2015) was amazing! It had in my opinion the best shape that a staging has had at Eurovision so far. Israel's (2019) was amazing too as well as Sweden's (2016). I don't like the shape of Ukraine's (2017) at all. I mean that 'shark' shape was unoriginal.
Yes! My fave as well
Eurovision 2009 had a beautiful stage
1. 2011
2. 2012
3. 2019
1. Germany 2011
2. Israel 2019
3. Denmark 2014
...
10. Azerbaijan 2012
2018 stage was amazing!
My Favourite:
-2014: I think it have the best design but i agree, sometime the acts get swallowed by it
-2016: I really like how most of it are LEDs and it really make the delegations play with the visuals (well sometime it's messy)
-2019: The LED wall is flat and rotable, there's runway, it have LED floor, triangular legs and ceiling which make it the most flexible stage of them all. The delegations can pretty much do anything with it
Stages i don't really like:
-2010: it's have zero LEDs and it's made it really hard for the delegations to take advantage of it. I mean, the stagings from 2010 look pretty much the same except for MaNga
-2015: It's looked really small and the LED wall didn't seem to be connected to the stage.
-2012: Well, the design is really cool but the shapes seems awkward and the pixels wasn't very saturated. Also, i don't know if it's the lighting/camera but sometime it's dark looking and empty
-2013: I just don't get it? The design is confusing like in Baku which is also awkwarldly shaped. Also there is no LED floor to help the delegation really take advantage of it
I loved that the stage had water around it in 2014. How it was used with dancers jumping in and Poland actually using the water in their performance.
But I would also mention the 2013 stage in Malmø with the bridge and entrance-march with the flags. I loved that. =)
My favourite stage was in 2018, followed by 2012, 2014, and 2016. :)
In my point Jamala's staging in 2016 was THE BEST eurovision staging everrrrr! Those graphics... I felt like I was there with her together LIVING the story. It automatically makes a HUGE emotion inside of you - red light (blood), tree (family), graphics on the floor at the begining of the song is INTRIGUING and showing that something big and emotional is coming. the surroundings around her is like a metaphor for such a big and strong story as her. 10/10 Jamala, great job. Also Duncan's staging was quite similar to Jamalas in the way of chamberness
Azerbaijan 2012 has so hospitable atmosphere and looks like the flame takes the people around it. I think it is the best.🇦🇿
If 2013 was on a bigger scale like in the friends arena or globen with higher powered beems like 2014 and just some small revamps to the LED etc... it would have been my favourite, but I'm giving it to 2014, the Pyro, lighting led was top notch
1: 2014
2: 2016
3: 2012
Taste!
Best one: 2014
Worst one: 2010
Nice video as always
Τhe best esc stage was in 2006, an ancient theater shaped stage!
2016 for sure! The most stylish stage ever! The whole Globe arena was a part of the stage - just look at these light effects, and camera views. WOW 😍
Yes 2014 ❤❤
I have to agree with William, 2016 stage was simply spectacular and hosted so many impressive performances. But I think stages keeping getting darker and darker and the screens are all over text place... I would love some more "back to basics" staging, focusing on the actual performance and not getting constantly distracted by the lights...
2014 they make eurovision stage to a whole new level
I just loved the stage in Copenhagen (2014), maybe cause I was there myself. But I was also charmed by Austrian (2015) and Sweden (2016) a lot.
Deben doesn't say Pinterest in this one!
I loved 2016 as a whole! I thought everything was polished and ran really well - the show, the hosts, the scoreboard, the stage, the interval act, the songs! Everything, 2016 was my favourite edition!
The 2010 stage wasn’t as bad as everyone is talking about.
2012, 2013 stage was really dark, 2012 stage was really bland, I like the 2013 butterfly LED
2015 stage felt small, the arena felt small, everything felt trapped, and they even added them big ass light ball lines to the side, made it looks even smaller
2011 stage was okay, great big arena because I can see the audience clearly had a great and comfortable time with seats
2014 stage was great, really creative, probably the best but not perfect, lots of people complained that they couldn’t see the stage really well
2016 was good, the arena is enormous but somehow they made the stage felt really small. Great use of LEDs and lights
2017 stage wasn’t bad, great stage design and great lighting, the arena felt really big and comfortable but it lacked the interactions between the artists and the fan zone
2018 stage was a great use of lights, lots of lights, not gonna lie I think it was a bit of a lazy idea, but it shined the interactions between artists and fan
2019 stage was the same design with 2018 (second stage, bridges,...) but with a LED, LED floor and different shape. Love the top triangle lights
1.🇮🇱
2.🇦🇿
3.🇩🇪
4.🇺🇦
5.🇸🇪
TOP 3
1.2014
2.2011
3.2017
Worst 2013,2010
I liked the stage in Lissabon. It's toned down but still very effective. Malmö 2013 was also good, like a cozy cave.
2011 definitely! I love a massive stage with a long runway and enormous crowd 🙌
2014 without a doubt
If you consider the whole contest and not just the stage Lisbon has to be one of the best host cities of the last few years in my opinion.
Amazing setting, friendly locals , peaceful, great food and sunshine.
For me it's
Stockholm🇸🇪
Lisbon🇵🇹
Tel Aviv🇮🇱
Vienna 🇦🇹
Kiev🇺🇦
Copenhagen 🇩🇰
Dusseldorf🇩🇪
Malmö🇸🇪
Baku🇦🇿
Oslo🇸🇯
2009 & 2011 stages were Amazing 😍😍😍
Best one for me guys: 2014, agree with Deban
Worst one: 2015 (it was simply a big NO) & 2013. I mean, it was good on its own way but meanwhile Oslo and Lisbon were pretty effective at their goal to show Europe and the fans there is no need to use LEDs to create an impressive and prolific show, the projectors used in Malmö were did not create that WOW effect on the audience. Sweden proved they needed to get back to the LEDs, and they came up with Stockholm, where the result was perfectly put into action. The Swedes were really wise back then, so I kinda agree with William on that, 2016 stage was fantastic too. It is also one of the best of the decade for me.
Great content guys, keep it up!
i liked the bridge in 2013
You are so fun guys
I'm with Deban! 2014 is by far the best stage ESC ever had!
My least favourite is Malmö 2013. Is just small and weird.
2018 is the best for me even though they didnt have L.E.D
Ez, def the 2011 one is easily the best stage design aesthetic wise. Esp bc they did it in this decently sized football stadium.
@wiwiblogs can you discuss the Barbara Dex award from 2010-2019?
Could you do a video about maybe the biggest downfalls in esc, like the fan favourites everyone thought would do well but tanked 🤭
2014 was the best ESC ever. It was absolutely spectacular. And the worst was unfortunately 2015 in Vienna. It was poor
Austria is one of my favorite with the Symphonie Orchester
1) 2016 - my fave ❤ not too big nor small and looks so classy
2) 2019 - It looked amazing and acts looked so professional 😍
3) 2014 - very good and creative. Like it 👍
4) 2018 - Even without a led screen it showed how the stage could be so good. It was a different experience for us.
5) 2011 - I like how it looks but its a little bit oldfashioned nowadays.
6) 2010 - I like how the lights look so professional without a led wall. It looked so retro and so modern at the same time.
6) 2015 - everything about it was good expect one thing.the only bad thing was looked like a closeddoor like nothing was free and acts looked like trapped in the stage. Hope you understand what I mean.
7) 2017 - Would be perfect in a year like 2008-2012 but for 2017 it was a little weird.
8) 2013 - Actually I like the stage but especially the floor needed a little bit led screen or some light on it. A little bit dark by the floor.
9) 2012 - somehow leds and everything look a little bit cheap and unprofressional. Its like a tv studio stage but a little bit better one. Anyway I like the floor of it.
Best: 2018 🇵🇹
Worst: 2013 🇸🇪 or 2014 🇩🇰
I still love all of them! Greetings, guys!
Where do you find the exact audience of the Eurovision? You talked about 196 millions viewers for Copenhagen 2014

Broken Glass Everyone has their own opinion! And if you don't like my opinion then you don't have to accept it
1. 2014
2. 2011
3. 2019
4. 2010
5. 2015
6. 2017
7. 2012
8. 2016
9. 2018
10. 2013
I love 2016 and 2019 was great given the limited space. I never liked 2015 because of the lack of symmetry. I find it distracting every time i watch performances of that year.
2013 onwards are may favourites. But if I had to choose 2014 was my favourite
I'm danish and I loved the stage when Copenhagen hosted in 2014. But I think my favorite stage was 2015 in Vienna
2014, 2015, 2018 the best❤
2014 by faaaarrrr the best / 2015 absolutely the worst
2015 Eurovision stage is my favorite 🇮🇱❤️🇦🇹
2016's stage (not arena) and 2013 are a bit too small. at least the stage should be at least 50 square metre of area.
Sweden 2016 all the 🥳
A spectacular edition.
My favorite is the 2015 (Vienna) stage.
Funny what different preferences we all have. I really disliked Denmark. To me it’s one of the worst stages ever.
I think my favourites are Vienna 2015 and Portugal 2018.
I have noticed that Swedens stages were darker and not so bright compared to other years
My Favorite Stage Is Moscow 2009 And Helsinki 2007
Sergey is the best! both times!!)
My favorite is Kyiv 2017, my second favorite is Lisbon 2018
Love Copenhagen’s as well!!
Let's dooo thiiiis! :D My absolute favourite is Ukraine 2017. That big shark was really stunning and that "Swiss Knife", OMG! My second place is taken by Sweden 2013!
Kyiv 2017 is also my favorite, my second favorite is Lisbon 2018
2016 and 2011 stages were so huge, especially 2011 one
2016 was not that huge :s
2015 had an amazing astatic.
2014>2016>2011>2019>2012>2017>2015>2018>2013>2010
I agree - Copenhagen was best
Why you keep saying the stage from 2014 was a diamond 🤔, for me was more like a square or a cube if you wanna see it more tridimensional . But I’m not getting a diamond lol , at least you see it from back behind the green room then mayyyybe but not 😂. For me 2011 is a legend even if led screen suck a little bit and 2019 I was there and was pretty cool too :)))
answer is 2007
Ohh zoë was very cute on stage ❤
i was excited for the 2020 one :/
2015.was my fave
2010: No LED screens seemed a bit odd but actually I didn't mind it. Not really spectacular but equally it was a nice stage and the LEDs they did have were well used.
2011: One word - Boring!
2012: Probably an unpopular opinion but actually one of my favourites, fairly simple with no real gimmicks but I just thought it looked fabulous.
2013: Nice, functional, forgettable. Thankfully though the host more than made up for that!
2014: Pretty perfect, large but with a sense of enclosure and intimacy. Lots of room for creativity but also plenty of built in features ready to use too.
2015: A nice stage but just somehow didn't scream Eurovision to me. Felt a little too small, but then I think the whole set up of the venue with the green room felt odd somehow.
2016: Probably another unpopular opinion but to be it was just far too big and over the top for the six person stage limit. Loads of room and a ton of features but to me it felt they were designed mostly around the intro/interval acts and not the actual performers who it seemed to me had little room for creativity.
2017: Forgettable.
2018: I really want to like it but something just wasn't quite there. The lack of LED screens meant more focus on the acts themselves which I loved, but the backdrop just felt too fixed and inflexible.
2019: Like 2014, a ton of features but also a blank canvas if that's what the acts wanted. Another favourite.
2018, less is more
1. Germany 2011
2. Copenhagen 2014
3. Schweden 2016
No one mentions 2015 Austria
Wait what!? I thought Greta Salome 2016 was incredible, what was bad about it?
