I know people don't want Sweden to win again anytime soon but it's a fact that when it comes to the organisation Swedes are matchless. You can tell that this country loves the contest and knows its audience well.
This is the year... Loreen will take it back to Globen, Stockholm again.... and we will see Petra and Måns next year... (2024)

The fact that Petra managed to host all of Eurovision on her own in 2013 and still be one of the best was impressive enough. Then Måns came along and they became the best presenter duo Eurovision has ever seen (at least in modern time) is just legendary. Whether you’re tired of Sweden winning or not, you have to admit that they know how to host Eurovision.

The genius behind it all is Edward af Sillén, the script writer AND song writer for that Peace, Love song. He's done a lot of great Melodifestivalen scripts as well.

The reason they won: Comedy is perfectly timed, the puns fall correctly. and to be fair the teaming of both petra and mans was just perfect.

Petra knows that she has to entertain the audience and not just give results and introduce interval acts. With Petra, you get a show with the Contest. Plus, her comedy is global, not Euro-centric. I got her jokes and I live in America.

You know, besides a lot of other things she do as well do Stand-Up Comedy here in Sweden (and she is good at it!), so I Think she has the 'Entertain' thing pretty Close to heart.
Right, but she needed a good wingman for some jokes we saw her last time and she was alright but sometimes it was getting boring. But the connection, the chemistry between petra AND mans was incredibly good.
It should be a mandatory rule that måns and Petra host every year but have to put on an accent from the hosting country

It is almost like that, since SVT have been helping smaller nations do it for the last two decades.
The main dude Christer Björkman has now also been hired by Ukraine to help them with their show.
Not even he could help the Ukraine with the horrible show that was 2016. So many boring songs this year, stiff and cheezy hosts and a real snoozer for a winner. (highly personal opinion, not stating it as facts).

Sweden can't afford to, they showed it properly in our mini eurovision (we vote for the one to send to eurovision), we had so bad music this year it's ridiculous, and it shines through how they can't afford to win eurovision this year.
2016 hosting is not just your typical reading on cue making lame jokes and boring to watch hosting, this is pure entertainment! Bravo Måns and Petra!

Nah, Petra is basically a staple now and she hasn't competed herself. It is possible that Måns would be replaced though, but I'm not sure if Loreen would take his place because unlike Måns, she doesn't have any hosting experience.

When I was in London in 2009 during Euroivison week (I returned home to Sweden just in time for the final), I could vote for Sweden just fine using my Swedish phone number.

Does anyone recall one of her first jokes earlier in the show when kicking the whole thing off? The theme of the show was coming together, hence her joke "So everyone grab your rags and let's all come together!" i literally did a spit-take! Hilarious.
The joke is not in the video, because it is a bit juicy.

One of the votes for Måns and Petra came from me, as they were ABSOLUTELY the clear cut winner! They set the standard for how Eurovision should be hosted and presented moving forward, it was done in such a slick, professional and funny (but not cheesy!) way. Roll forward to 2024, I’m thrilled that Petra will be hosting the contest once again in May. I’m from the UK 🇬🇧 but I’ll be an honorary Swede 🇸🇪 too for the evening! (Will be right behind Olly Alexander to do us proud though) 😊

And they did but not only did they win They Rivaled Ireland and Johnny logan With Loreen.
They carried the show with such ease compared with most other presenters who generally look like someone has a shotgun pointed at them just off camera.
Honestly this year's Eurovision was the only good thing about 2016. I think we should scrap tradition and have Måns and Petra be the official Eurovision hosts.

I miss one of the best moments which was the announcement of the "Grey People". Petra and Mans not only were enormously funny and more than up to the task but they also managed to find the right tone when it came to the moments where fun was not appropriate.

I used to be pissed off with the feeling that some juries usually favor Sweden too much. In the past 5 years i love that they do it, so that Petra and Mans have better chances to host again!

Petra and Måns did a fantastic job in 2016. 2016 was by far the best ESC so far. (fantastic hosts, lot of great entries, JT as interval-act). It will be very difficult for future hosts, to top this.
