My wife fell in love with her uncles 2001 24V when he bought it new. She always told him "I want that truck." Well she finally got it! Now she wants to go fast. We have been searching for a deal on a p-pump or a complete 12V for parts to start the swap. This motor would be a great starting point!
It'd be pretty funny if you guys tried adding some nitro RC scents to the fuel when doing the dyno runs. Could make the whole shop smell like bananas or apple pie 😂

“Horn=give the juice” that was the only thing in Josh’s brain at the moment haha, good laugh. And I could use that 12 valve, I broke my cam on my 94 this past month, working on getting some money and time and parts to get it built back, and who couldn’t use another 12v?!
This was awesome great job men!👍 Josh fed that dry shot when the horn blew 😂. 👀 I had an old 1st gen Cummins with some minor mods. I installed a snow performance methanol injection kit on it. I could have swore it would make a little more power with straight ice water injected over the meth. It was good for 4-5 10ths in the quarter mile. Thanks appreciate it

Now I need to find a spare motor for my 12v so I can build it then do this stuff with my motor that is in my truck now and see how much abuse it will take.

Would love to win that engine! I'm a VA boy, who now lives in Brisbane Australia. I drive a 2006 Nissan Patrol ute/truck 4x4 with the stock 4.2 tdi 6cyl. I'm planning a 12 valve swap, but that high mile engine would be around the $9,000-$10,000 mark to buy as a "rebuidlable core"!!!
I know I can buy them super cheap back home in the states, but with travel, purchase price, and shipping...

I don't need an engine sadly, I need an entire truck, lost mine when the oil fields crashed back in 2013 and could no longer afford it and sadly had to get rid of it. Loved the vid and was very amazed that cummings could take so much punishment! Subbed and looking forward to more videos from you guys... Would love to know where you get your trucks to do these vids, everything around me is very expensive pushing upwards of 20K for a 250K-300K mi RAM2500.

I don't need the 12v engine but my friend does. He does construction and moves equipment often, He's got a worn out chevy gas 2500 truck that needs some love. I've got a spare 47re that I can freshen up for him and do the swap.
It naturally has a sweet smell due to the bean oil (castor) in the RC fuel. Generally it's a 6% & 6% with castor and synthetic oil but that was 10yrs ago when I used to race and make my own fuel...
My 1996 has 480000miles with compound turbos on it still on the original headgasket engine has never been touch. I have a set of head studs I put in it a few months ago. I have seen 70lbs of boost out of it so far. It just keeps on going. It's really amazing how much these engines will take.
Sometimes they just seem to last forever... and then sometimes they struggle to keep the head gasket in-tact.

I need it because my stock 1996 365k mile injectors haze bad and my cracked timing cover leaks all over, so an engine swap sound like a great fix! 😁

It's alcohol with like 20% nitro fuel and 20% two stroke oil, that's what saved it is the oil mix, I put that stuff in my lawn mower and grass a foot tall and I walk as fast as I can and it chews it up and spits it out
Man, I love you guys..."Not in a gay way" just to be clear... LOL. I wish I lived over there. I feel like I would fit right in..But I sure would like to win that 12 Valve. I would use it as a reason to drive up there to meet everyone. I pissed away all my money on building a 24 Valve P-pump compound turbo truck. It looks the same minus the camper. Single cab white on gray. But I took it to far. Getting over 80 ibs of boost before lifting. I know that bottom end is going to have a window in the block soon. I need a block to build a stronger bottom end. Keep up the great vedio's. I'm the dieseldummie of Texas.

I would like to swap this motor out for the one that's currently in my 94 12 valve. I purchased my truck from a family friend shortly before he passed away and the truck has been sitting due to mechanical issues in the motor. I'd love to see you truck up and running again even if it's for a short time.
my 2000 s10 needs a 12v for some odd reason. I can't really tell you why.
Idea to test. How much power is lost in the exhaust. I have a straight pipe with a 30 inch magnaflow. Every now and then it blows off at the coupling where the cat used to be. I swear I feel a surge of power when I blow the coupling off at where the cat used to be. I know there is a gain just going from cat to no cat. But I am curious how much is gain is going with a 4 foot pipe vs all the way tot he back.
What about the rest of the turbo testing?
I could really use that 12 valve! My ex and I used to truck pull together and since we split he’s been taking shit saying i can’t pull without him. He’s a super big fan of yours and it would the biggest F you to him if i got it and whooped his ass in a pull!!

My son has an explosive disorder, and we just tried to restrict ourb12 valve going to be his first vehicle and I am not sure what it is but something about about truck keeps him fairly calm but the head blew up due to previous owner pushing it to the max mostly its about the 12 valve engine my thoughts are to have him help me rebuild the one we have but not have the truck floating around for years to come since his mom had to quit her job to stay home with him his school through him out it's been he'll to say the least.
It also could be dropping the surface tension of the fuel

I'm curious to see what Isopropyl/water would do versus methanol/water. Isopropyl has a higher heat of vaporization more and an enthalpy of combustion that's nearly 3 times that of methanol. It's all about the Entropy baby.

So what about just pouring it into the fuel tank?
The BTU content is way lower, so it would lose power in the fuel-limited tow setting since it would have over 50% less energy available to make power that straight diesel. In the over-fueled max power setting.... we don't know... but there's only one way to find out!
It needs a couple nitrous lines in front of the turbine wheel

38lbs ? you have plenty of room . I drove a chinese he351cw around for about a year at 66lbs on my vp truck . Then installed compounds and could read past 100 psi . I did take it apart all the bushings and bearings were all heat soaked , frozen to the shaft. Imagine the drive pressure ?
Mix the Nitromethane to the Diesel! Might need some stabilizer and some two stroke oil though but would be awesome to see!
I thinks Banks has done all of his records with nitromethane. And lots of nitrous.
