1.45 hour video, guess il not sleep tonight đ
No sleep for the wicked.... LOL
@@pddofficial Get all the sleep I need when Im dead, thanks for the dance Doc.... who said it?
Hmm. I need to bring lonnon in on this one!
Just let the camera roll we love this kind of stuff
You guys should do more of these videos with the step by step. They are awesome!!!!!
That Zay! We were nervous with how long this video was. If it goes well we will do more!
@@pddofficial Please do more I watched the whole thing! I got a 12v here at home and I love learning about it every day!
@@pddofficial The length of the video is fine as it takes that long to properly cover the material. What I would suggest is posting longer video's such as this with the acceleration feature that allows the viewer to speed up the video in increments of 1.25x, 1.5x, 1.75x, & 2.0x. The audio is still understandable at these speeds but the viewer can get through the entire presentation faster. Excellent video by the way! đ
@@wrfarms9741 You can already speed it up on CZcams, its where the settings are for resolution and etc. I watched the whole thing at 2x except the startup and I was entertained every second.

More!
You two are fantastic teachers. Ive learned so much from this channel I feel like I owe tuition or something. Thanks guys.
Facts same here
Wow, thanks! We are just trying to share our passion for diesel performance!
Buy some parts from them. I will buy at least 1 or 2 if I do the p pump swap. Well I can't promise, but I'd like to support them some.
Probably one of the best videos I've seen for quite some time! Well done, y'all! Thanks for sharing!
Wow, thanks!
A full engine rebuild video ... would be awesome đđ
P
This video style was right on the money! đđť
Thanks for this y'all, this is a plethora of info, most act as if it's too secret, or won't take the time to detail the "Why's".
Great stuff đ
Words cannot explain how excited I am for this series! I've been wondering when you guys would drop another wrenching video amd this one knocked it out of the park! Ordered 025's today to go with my 5x12's and future super 9. I'm stoked to see this play out!
More to come! And we plan to test a Super 9, if they dyno half as well as they feel on the street, it's going to produce solid numbers on the dyno!
hey man how did it turn out? me and the old man are starting our 12v hauler build. were gonna be hauling 3 cars from time to time but want loads of power for the hauler bed to cruise at 85-90 with the speed of traffic with 1 car haha
This was the most educational video I have watched in a long time. I like how you explained everything. Makes it more friendly for people new to diesels!
If one day I can afford it, I'll take my 1999 3500 24 valves Dodge Ram to you guys and ask you to do to my truck what you feel is needed to get better and, very importantly, pay you handsomely! Let me tell you we need people like you in our areas. I live in Miami-Dade, I think it's not impossible to find great mechanics down here that can bring my truck to your levels because to Miami have come millions of people but I can't still find you guys here! So, I seriously hope one day I crack the code and knock your door with my beloved truck for upgrades! Thank you for being there for us, the dreamers and the lovers of old best truck in my opinion and old vehicles of a golden era in American history and human invention! Thank you!
Greatest diesel shop on this planet!
Thanks for the support! You have one of the greatest CZcams usernames we've seen in ages! Good choice!
@@pddofficial i am addicted to them just like you guys. I support you guys because you support the DIY guys like me. I just installed your new billet tappet cover on my 98 12 valve and it is working flawlessly
Great video! I like the in depth install tutorials. I have spent lots of money on your parts and not many parts come with Instructions, so this is nice to see.
This video is great!! We need more videos like this. I have a 2017 Cummins and the PDD videos just make me want to buy a 12 valve asap.
Great great video. I know this took you guys time. I have owned my 94 for just about 20 years. Still stock, just at 325,000 miles. Did head gasket in the driveway after number 6 started seeping some coolant.
Wife dispises my old dodge, but I love her with all my heart, (the truck)...and my wife.
I know what they are and one day would love to drive her to Utah and have some upgrades done. Just purchased the tranny line kit and will be installing that soon. Funny how your tutorial video stated the only thing that caused him to be stranded was a pinhole leak.....same here.
Love what you guys do. Keep it up.
Chris
Thanks for the kind words and it's true, pinhole tranny line leaks have left many trucks stranded!
Excellent video, I don't own a Cummins yet but now I know what to do when I eventually get one. Really enjoy your channel and the way you run your company.
I watched the whole thing uninterrupted and was glued to it. Fantastic, Mark is a master and a teacher. SINSAI MASTER MASTER MARK. đđ. You are very fortunate to have such a fantastic friend. Who is willing to take the time and effort to do this. I look forward to the rest of the build.
never clicked so fast just for the fact i have a 405k cummins and wanna build it
Warning.... this video is LONG!!!! But still tons of great upgrades and content!
I've got 558k. Cracked exhaust manifold and a stuck waste gate. Seems like it's time for something like this.
@@MadebyKourmoulis that's honestly not bad at all those are pretty simple fixes....as long as you don't have any leaks or blow by why send it away?
@@SWEATY-Braaapper666 I meant as I fixed the other issues I should take that as an opportunity to do these upgrades. I just bought the truck this week. Got it from the second owner. The title says 22k is when he bought it. So it's basically a 1 owner truck. My plan is to take it to 1mil
@@MadebyKourmoulis wow that's awesome lol...I'm into cars I just bought a focus ST with 100k on it I don't have a car payment anymore I put about 2k worth of mods and parts and oil changes on this I hope it gets me another 100k and few years no problems it's a fun little car
I reference this video all the time. No where I have seen or read the companion cylinder trick to setting valve lash. This is very useful with an aftermarket camshaft. Such a great video. Thank you Will.
Glad it helped

I dont even own a diesel but I couldn't turn away. I need a 12V in my life. I think I'm gonna upgrade one on a stand and then look for a donor truck.
Wow, this was great!! Just like watching a movie. Being a 12v owner myself, I thoroughly enjoyed this. Thank you for taking the time to make this in such detail. Very informative.
Glad you enjoyed it! The 12v Cummins owners seem to like this type of information.
Wow so glad I found this channel! Keep making these videos guys, best videos on CZcams!
Love your work guys, never seen a claw hammer used under the hood on a diesel engine, a new claw at thatđ
seriously this video is perfect!! well done! love all the mechanic working scene.
Thanks!
I need to get the right injector tool. Always forget and end up cleaning off a lug nut, threading it onto the injector and using my vise grip slide hammer
By far, y'all have the best diesel videos out there.
This was fascinating. I was riveted. âď¸
I have an old 12V in my burb and this video is going to be invaluable about next week when it gets proper power. Thank you.
Glad it helped, and Cummins swapped Burb sounds like a killer project!
Will it was good to meet you at the Jamboree ! Your truck is coming along nicely , I am stoked to get my S9 and some tuning done on my 98.5 and get some 600-700 hp numbers soon !
Great video, step by step and gives me the absolute confidence to do some of these mods by myself! It was a long video but it was paced well enough to keep it interesting.
This video helped so much. thanks Will and Todd you guys are awesome!

Hey folks? I am from Brazil and here these KKK27 or K27 turbos are very distant, but we are migrating to a better turbocharger in all aspects which is superior to the k27 which is from the Auto Avionics A366, A372 brand, if I'm not mistaken it is used here on John tractors Deere, it has the same quality as the Garrett, sorry for any mistake, I'm using google translator, sensational video, I liked it.
Those turbos are very similar the Box Borg Warner S366. They make great power but at terribly lazy and slow spooling on a 5.9L12v Cummins. They came from a 7 liter John Deere diesel engine which makes them decent performance turbo but TERRIBLE towing/street use turbo for a 12v Cummins.
That sounds so professional "fuel package" I love the presentation
That was an amazing transformation! Thanks for the video!!
Glad you liked it!!
I'll take one of them 12 valve top covers, as a garage ornament. I live close by đđđ
It took me 6 steps to watch the entire video....đ
But it was well worth it !!! awesome guys đđť
MOAR. Mine is a 24v, but I donât care. This is fantastic! Iâve only made it through half an hour so far, but I will be studiously watching any and all future videos of this sort. Excellent idea, I love it and I thank you guys for sharing the knowledge with newb wannabe wrenchers like me.
So glad to hear this! Was nervous doing such a long vid.
I have a 1992 12v Cummins all stock runs sweet
Thanks for this video guys, this is very similar to a build I have going on almost the exact parts I picked up from you guys. Havenât got the engine in the truck yet though. Excited to see it.
We just put it on the dyno... Quick question, did you also upgrade your trans?
@@pddofficial I'm guessing thats a hint to how the stock trans held up on the dyno? Probably could have guessed... LOL
@@pddofficial nope but itâs a Cummins swap into Ford with the zf6 behind it, not sure how it will hold up but Iâll figure it out lol

I love the extendo pitsburge rachet, one of my favorite tools in my box.

Iâve been running a hx35 with a 67mm exhaust turbine with a he351 60mm compressor ... been a great upgrade over the stock unit
We will be testing that very combo on this truck shortly!
Itâs a killer combo for a stock bolt in charger , I ran it hard and egt were great on my 24 valve with 150 injectors and a hot rod pump .... going to a 67/67 he351 over a s488 on my new build đ¤

426 HP!!!
Good job đđź Iâm been talking to my dad and we are going to p-pump the 2nd gen 24v Cummins and i got the kdp from amazon and I started to modify the p-pump the only thing that I did is I modified the fuel plate every thing else on the pump I left alone I havenât modify the afc foot yet. And for right now Iâm leaving the stock delivery valves in and the p-pump that Iâm putting in my dads truck is a 175 pump.
And good info on the modifications on the p-pump and good info Iâll have to remember that.
I thought the time stamp was wrong when I clicked the video... I'm so happy right now
That was way cool i thought it would be so much more involved ,even with all the extra upgrades u threw into it given ur access of shop n tools.what kinda money would it take for the same upgrade n power advance by a shop verses done by oneself n a few drunken buddies?snooky pa.
I used the same PDD kit on my 12 valve swap in my 98 K3500 along with a K27. Big difference over stock power. Actually popped my HG recently but I think it was my fault as I didn't do a hot retorque on the studs. Very curious to see what papasaurus gets on the dyno. Can't wait to see. BTW, dad is still loving the mods on his 2005!
Awesome! Thanks for the support!
I just bought my first diesel. Its a 2006 ram 2500 These videos are great and teaching this old gasser guy a thing or two about diesels. I have had it 2 weeks and purchased a 4"magnaglow turbo back exhaust, also a new s&b cold air intake and a edge evolution cts3 programmer. Before I go crazy with the old girl I'm going to upgrade the torque converter and do some tweaks to the valve body.
Haha, I have about the same exact mods on my 06.
5" turbo back silver line exhaust, edge comp, some plastic CAI tube, can't remember the brand and I wrapped it in dei gold heat shield mat stuff, put a BHAF filter on there and that's all.
Threw the mods on in the first 2 weeks, and blew the trans up 2 months into owning it. So be careful... And that was years ago with only 55k miles.
Had the trans swapped out for a full billet Goerend trans, and have been hot rodding it since. 9 years strong on her now. No issues, other than all the consumable axle parts. Currently has 144k miles on it.
Will run 0-60 in 5.8 seconds in 2wd, still scared to try a 4wd launch. 13.7 1/4 mile 2wd.
Has a level kit and 33's
@@2S1L3NT I know I will be putting a Trans in it so I drive it fairly easy but I'm a old man.I do like to get- locked in 4th and roll a little coal.Just getting into it half throttle amazes me the torque these engines have for stock.
this is all the videos i've ever watched on 12 valves in 1 video
It was long for sure!
Iâm just here to say I skipped the whole video to watch the burnout at the end lololol
When doing the valve lash does that 7 method work for all Cummins motors or only 12v? Awesome video I agree to have these kinds of videos who cares how long they are. Itâs teaching us rookies how to do things. Adrian
Please do a 7.3 powerstroke!! Especially a NBS!
If someone did slide that plate they did an excellent job installing a new tamper proof bolt.
Todd is so tall he doesnât need a topside creeper
Great video! Now I know what I'm going to do in the spring. But when you're removing and tightening the nut for the pump to advance the timing is the plastic lock pin strong enough to hold it. I would think it would snap off.
Hey GuysâŚâŚdid you remember to pull out the dowel pin from the back of the camshaft gear did it get sheared off??? I didnât see/hear you make a point of not forgetting that step!
I always leave my fuel lines together, it's a little more of a pain to get the wrench in there but you save time and aggravation of putting the lines back together.
Listen fellas no need for an excuse for the Ugga dugga torque method we are all mechanics here we understand!
I donât know why you guys donât have 1m subscribers. Keep it up
Are there even 1M diesel fanatics in the whole CZcams audience? A lot of what we do is boring to some...
Long video but I like it !!!
Awesome video! Would be cool to see one for a third gen 750-800hp build!
Iâd love a build sheet for Toddâs truck. Thatâs exactly the setup Iâd like to have for my â07 5.9.
After buying my first cummins a few weeks ago this is exactly the video I needed!!! I havent seen a video this in depth in a while between all the car videos I watch on youtube, excellent work guys! I watched every minute of it, very eye opening and gives me confidence to do this work myself!
This is good being I just got myself 300k bone stock Cali â94 12v
So excited to watch this. Getting my fix of being a wrench monkeys but without doing it myself.
Love this stuff. Love learning from you guys
I love that wrench I have the same one I use when I do underground work for edison

I want to do the 550hp kit for mine, I already have a borgwarnner S362SXE and 4kGSK so I think it will compliment the turbo perfectly.
Will the heavier valve springs cause premature valve seat wear?
Do you use the np241dld or the np241dhd transfer case? Iâm wondering how much power the dld can handle
This is a great video!!! I have an 04.5 24 valve and this makes me wish it had a 12 valve in it for sure! Keep these coming I love the how to videos.
Thanks, will do!
