      @tony By saying 'so true', you admitted being a teller of falsehoods. I have no reason to believe any false thing you said after those two words. On the other hand, if by saying 'so true', you were instead in those very two words telling a falsehood about being a teller of falsehood, then I would still have no reason to believe someone who tells a falsehood in order to say he tells the truth.

    • @AveChristusRex

      Don't the apostolic fathers all say Matthew wrote his Gospel first, and that afterwards Peter wrote down a Petrine account of the Gospel on the demand of the Roman people? No one cares what 'scholars' say (they date the Gospels after AD70 because it contains prophecy about the Temple being destroyed... very good unbiased scholarship). Also, secular and modernist 'scholarship' is riddled with logical fallacy. Did you know they claim Mark's Gospel is earliest because it is the shortest and most terse? That's what you're dealing with.

    • @CatholicK5357
      @CatholicK5357 Před 4 lety

      Considering that modern scholarship has caused us to abandon the older Latin Vulgate for the Masoretic text which was written centuries later, I doubt much of what they say. These are people who don't use their scholarship to build upon the foundation of Tradition, but instead attempt to destroy the past in order to make a name for themselves.

      @@CatholicK5357 The Septuagint was written centuries later... is that a bad joke?

    • @CatholicK5357
      @CatholicK5357 Před 4 lety +1

      @@AveChristusRex Thank you for catching my mistake. I meant to say the Masoretic Text was written centuries later. The Septuagint is more accurate than the Masoretic Text because it was translated from earlier Hebrew sources. Modern scholars rely on the later translated Masoretic Text and that is obviously going to cause issues with their scholarship. It seems likely that those who translated the Masoretic Text specifically translated poorly passages to do with Christ to make it seem like Jesus did not meet the mark. I made the correction in my previous comment so that I don't scandalize anyone with my error. Thanks again.

      Saint Irenaeus, writing at the end of the SECOND CENTURY in Book III of his Against Heresies, writes that Matthew wrote first in Judea not many years after our Lord's Ascension. And all of the records we have from the Church Fathers who wrote during the Roman Empire, including Eusebius in his Church history and Saint Jerome, agree with this statement. Modern so called 'scholarship' regarding the Gospels is not to be trusted especially since it uniformly substitutes unfounded ideologically based opinion for actual historical evidence. There is zero evidence from the ancient world, or from anywhere besides the imagination of these so called 'scholars', that Mark wrote first.

    Rome was the capital of the Roman Empire, that's why Saints Peter and Paul had to go there: Not because Rome was the seat of all power in The Church.

  • @Rydonittelo
    @Rydonittelo Před rokem

    Why are you telling people that Mathew was the first gospel? Mark was the first by quite some way. We know this. Mark was written round about 60-70 when the Romans sacked Jerusalem.
