    Wonderful - thank you - and may I also refer you to the visions of Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich who describes the origins of Dismas in greater detail than St.Anslem - 'that Dismas was a three year old child of the gang leader who suffered from early leprosy, and Mary bathed baby Jesus in a rockpool which she ordered Dismas mother to retain and bathe Dismas daily until his health was restored. Mary is described as 'flashing' a look into the heart of Dismas' father in order to soften his evil intentions,' there is a great deal more for those who are interested.

    Dismus was the son of the marauding terror chief when the Holy Family was fleeing to Egypt -- he was baby with skin disease when he was healed by the bath water used for baby Jesus. Rev. Father, St. Dismus was the son.

    We must imitate the Supreme nature of Christ's Love for Man .In His most ignomious and agonizing and humilliating death (The supreme injustice) , He expressed His Love for His executioners and the repentant one crucified by His side by forgiving the first and comforting the second .Such Perfect and Infinite Love is what brought Him to die on the Cross to save us from Absolute Death .
    May we all be repentant from our Sin and recognize Christ as Lord , surrendering ourselves to His Mercy .

    The idea that Dismas encountered the Holy Family when they fled to Egypt is a myth perpetuated by St Anselm without any basis. The scriptural reference to St Dismus at the cross is rich and this pitiful legend made up by St Anselm isn't needed and actually detracts from the Truth.

    • @gamers7800
      @gamers7800 Před 7 lety +4

      I have to agree with you even thur I am Catholic. Such stories as this one can be inspiring but clearly not found in the Bible. Truth be told they run rampant thur the lives of our saints. This one tale I'm at a lost to comprehend. There could be no greater honor than to offer the most holy family assistance in their time of need but it begs belief to think that this individual was the same man who turned to God for mercy some thirty three years later. I'm Catholic and even I'm not buying this tall tale.

    • @dlw3425
      @dlw3425 Před 7 lety +1

      I'm Catholic, as well, which is why the perpetuation of this myth annoys me. We have enough myths being circulated about our Catholic faith by protestants. We undermine our credibility when we spread fairy tale accounts that can easily be picked apart. A man who assisted the Holy Family during Christ's infancy would most likely be given graces and would not have fallen into a life of such grave sin that he would have been sentenced to death by crucifixion next to Christ.

      +Gamers how are you so confident this is a myth? I'm not Catholic, but IF this story has belonged to the Catholic Church for 2000yrs then how can you dismiss it. Is this story brand new has only been around for a couple of years or something?
