Thanks for the vids. My 13yr. old watches them for hours as he already has his own little business operating equipment. I get to retire,,"finally" from my many years of my truck driving delivery route at 55,,yeah union job, lol,,,so I am going to invest into my son and getting him some newer equipment,,plus it gives me something to do,,lol. My son does very well with his old IH equipment that I got him with allot of attachments. We also have access to larger equipment that we use also. I grew up a farmer boy and my son loves to operate equipment..he looks the part too,,,lol,,,a big boy at 240lbs of linebacker size. He is a great worker and gets tons of calls. Other kids sit around, he is out there digging with the backhoe to install new water lines, doing new landscaping, driveways, septic work etc. I am looking at the Kubota line up, and we need a smaller model to fit in places.

I have watched several of your video's and they are very informative. It's interesting that the build quality of the Kubota tractors can sometimes be a little dodgy(it's the same in the US) because they are known for building one of if not the best small diesels. In the marine industry engine marinisers such as Beta and Nannidiesel have based their small engines on Kubota. They are quickly becoming as or more popular than the original benchmarks Yanmar and Volvo. It's almost like the engine and tractor are built by 2 different companies.Although I have yet to use one I,ve read good things about Kioti and many bad things about Mahindra. My experience as a service technition and end user is with John Deere,Kubota and Mitsubishi(shame you can't get those anymore).Anyway, thank you and keep the vids coming.

Nice video...I didn't find it boring at all. So far the expansion is looking good. The first thing I said to myself when I saw the 5740 start up and drive out of its tent was "It's Alive"...It must feel strange to get in the 5740 in just a t-shirt but you have used it quite a bit this summer so I guess it's not so strange...But before you know it you'll be pushing that white stuff around again...I'll be looking forward to another part of this.

Before moving here I operated heavy equipment for a living in an iron Orr mine. The tractor used in this video would have been considered a joke because of its size back then but it's more comfortable than anything I've used in the past. Everything except one road grader I operated in the past was HST. The largest loader I operated was a Cat 992. I do enjoy our Kubota's. Without them we couldn't get any work done on the property.

Great video Paul and Kathy! Nice seeing the 5740 out working again. A video with trucks and tractors, what's not to like? Being a former truck driver I thought about getting in on the conversation below but thought better of it. I'm retired now so I'm just going to enjoy the rest of my life. I still love seeing the big trucks operating and give them kudos for the job they do for all of us. They are like our service men and women, they don't get the credit they deserve. Can't wait to see the finished product. What is the red rock you put down called, besides red rock? ;) Does it have a special name? It looks like it packs down pretty good. Have a great week Paul and Kathy and thanks for putting up the videos. God Bless... Levi~~

mi2tn Hi Levi. There's something about trucks and equipment for sure. The first piece of equipment I started out on was a Cat D-8 with a ripper. I was 16 years old and full of piss and vinegar lol. Thought I could move the world with that thing. Your right. Truckers are the unsung heroes of the work force especially here in Newfoundland. We don't have a rail system anymore so EVERYTHING have to be trucked in. No trucks, no nothing. As for our service men and women. God Bless them all. Give a listen to this. Pretty well sums it up my friend. God Bless you and yours sir. Terry Kelly - A Pittance of Time (Official Version)

Wow, that video gave me goose bumps. Great, just great. Thanks for putting it down so I could see it. You're right, it pretty much sums it up. 16 tons, so that would be 25 dollars a ton. Not cheap but it sure does look good and I was watching your back wheels as it spun some and it just kind of lays there instead of getting thrown all over like gravel does. I like that stuff. Thanks for getting back with me and "Thanks again" for the video. Stay safe...Levi~~

Interesting that both the BX and the 5740 are designed to 'spin out' when they reach their plowing capacity. BTW that would be a good place for Kathy to learn how to operate the BX, Mr camera operator.

No matter what you operate there comes a time if it's powerful enough that it will break traction and these tractors will always break traction before they run out of power. Yup. That's where Kathy will be doing the BX trials.

How much heavier is your 5740 with rear wheel weights? Do you have calcium or other tire ballast too??? I have calcium, but the ass of my 4240 is light without an implement. Plus I have the deep lug ag tires.
I can't forget The Wonderful Mrs. Kathy!!!!
Have a great week my friends. :)

The rear wheel weights add 800 lbs then there's the weight of the rear blower. I use a large capacity snow bucket in the winter as well with the tractor and the rear ballast is good. I never went with fluid filled tires. Kathy says thanks!

I brought that up to you before too... we talked about RimGuard. Still amazed with the weight you do have (both on the wheels and hanging behind them) how light the rear end gets on the 5740 FEL loaded. Damn good thing you have 4WD or you'd get stuck a lot... Need that Kubota mod guy (wink) to come up with a way to move the front axle about 15" further forward!!!
Thanks for the mention on the previous videos. Not necessary but hope you are able to develop something for the disabled tractor owners... Need to finish lunch and get back out on my Therapy Tractor!

ramosel The stuff you see me moving with the 5740 is very very heavy. It's about the heaviest materiel I've ever used so there's no wonder why the tractor looks light in the rear. That tractor is used 95% of the time for snow clearing. It's only on these little special projects it sees the light of day in the summer and that's why the snow blower is left on. I've been thinking about adding a back hoe to it to give it something else to do but i haven't decided on that yet. We appreciated you calling. It was very nice of you. I was right in the middle of cutting the rops off a BX when you called lol. Yes I'd love to do a full re-mod for a disabled person. Discovery wants us to do a TV series I'd gladly do it if we could do the tractor thing. Keep well my friend and enjoy your tractor.

Paul, I would love to see you and Kathy do a Discovery channel series. It sounds kind of scary though. At least for those of us that are camera shy. (me)

Cameras don't bother me. I remember back in 2006 we had spoke out publicly about an International event that as Canadians we were involved in. As soon as it hit the news papers we had National TV networks calling on us to do interviews.
One network actually sent out a satellite truck with a crew and set up in the shop. I was wired up and stood in front of this Hugh camera on a tripod with an ear piece in my ear and the lady who I couldn't see asked me if I was nervous, I replied no, then she told me I would be on in ten minutes and 17.000.000 will be seeing this. I replied " I don't care, their not here in the shop".
The 20 minute interview went on with out a problem. She tried to trick me a few times without success during the interview. Spent the next 20 hours on the phone talking to Canadians all over the world because of it. All f them told me they really enjoyed it. Hey, it's only a camera lol.

By the way, I get a kick out of the way you pronounce "garage" with only the second "a". To my ear (and I think I am close to getting hearing aids), it sounds like "grage".

Lol. Tractor Master. If I didn’t have them on half the viewers would say “ what’s the point of having them if your not going to have them on” Grow up boy.

It may have been because you got to the video before CZcams had it completely processed. I've seen it happen like that before. Sorry.
