    I have a 2014 bx.i love this machine. Had it for about 3years now.
    I have the backhoe, blade, and a log splitter for it.
    I also have the mechanical thumb for it.
    I have added at least 400 square feet to my property, realigned the irrigation ditch and processed many loads of firewood.
    I do like the ripper attachment that you made, very impressive.
    I was just thinking about using a cultivator tooth and attaching it to the middle tooth on the hoe.
    I have a little project in the spring to run an electric line about 300 feet or so..
    Thanks for sharing..

    This video illustrates something that most backhoes suffer from. The outrigger feet are a compromise. They are designed to support the tractor on soft ground and when equipped with rubber pads, to protect pavement and concrete. But most backhoes have enough "curl & dipper" power to slide the backhoe into the work. A cool outrigger pad modification would be to have spades (almost like on howitzers) on the back edge and protruding down 6"-10" so that if you drag the tractor back the spades would sink down and dig in to provide a lateral resisting force so you don't keep dragging the tractor closer to the work and enabling you to use the power of the backhoe to pull ut rocks and stumps.

    The more I see it work the more impressed I am by the BX25D! Handled the wood chipper with out hardly any effort at all! The backhoe can actually pull the whole machine backwards even with the outriggers down. Amazing little workhorse! Following your recommendation, I went over and subscribed to Bob Kellen's channel and, boy he really puts his through it's paces, too! The Claw (or is it The Klaw, since Kubota starts with a K, you see?) what more can I say, great trenching implement for running underground conduit, cable, pipe,etc.

      Truck Shackley Glad you enjoyed it. Kathy bought me the BX for my birthday. I told everyone I'd invent 15 new mods for it and some said it was Impossible. Well to date there's over 42 plus mods. Some of which I haven't shown (yet) the Klaw and Kwick connect is just two of them ;)

    Thanks Scott. The claw really worked out great. Been using it most of the time. As for the chipper. We are really nowhere near any blades. It may look as if we are but in actuality we are far from danger. That being said in order to get the branch's in the chute we have to handle them so there's no choice in that but we use leather gloves and not cotton. Cotton gloves are to easily tangled in the branch's and that can cause a few problems.

    I like the "D" rings inside your loader. Makes for a quick connection point when you're lifting something. I recently had to lift a 350 lb. packer into the back of my 1/2 ton and put the strap around the whole bucket.

    Hey Paul, watched your video, liked it. Have a John Deere myself and I like it. I also have a DR chipper. It does up to 4-1/2 inches. What I think you might make for yours is a kind of plunger for it. I had a grandson weld one up for me. Gave him the specs and he did a great job. Mine is a flat square piece for the base about half inch thick a half inch bigger then the hole the branches go into. (5 inches for me) On that in the middle of the base he welded an alumn. arm about 2-1/2 feet to 3feet long and then welded a handle on it. All this was made with alumn. so it wouldn't weigh to much. When you have pieces that are short you can push them down with it and not have to worry about your hands or hitting the blade with it. Hope you understand what I'm trying to say. Keep up the good work.

      @7863348  Před 10 lety

      Sounds interesting. You should do a video on it. I may turn mine into a hydraulic feed. I haven't done it yet because I haven't used the chipper much. Might be a spring project ;)

  • @7863348
    @7863348  Před 11 lety

    Thanks. There are safety switches under the seat that stalls the motor when you get off the seat. To run an implement such as a chipper you need to pull the seat up as I do with this BX. In our Grand L tractor the seat simply folds ahead to operate the implements while not in the seat.

    Really impressed with the claw you built. I have been thinking about building one for myself for a while now. I was also very impressed with how it ran the chipper but I hated seeing you guys sticking your arms down the intake chute. If a branch was to grab your glove as the blade pulled a piece in it wouldn't be pretty.

    Hello Paul. I just watched this video for the first time and would just like to throw in a bit of advice/ recommendation.
    In addition to the eye, ear, and face protection that you had mention in the video PLEASE do NOT reach down inside the feed area when putting limbs and branches into the chipper.
    I work fulltime as an arborist and was just involved in a serious work place accident where a rope got into our commercial wood chipper, whipped around my legs, and pulled me into it. its been a long road to recovery with 24 surgeries dying twice in the O.R. and the amputation on my right leg below the knee.
    Wood chippers are VERY dangerous, even the small ones will change your life for worse in a matter of seconds. so like I said PLEASE not reach in there and be very careful while operating it.
    Best regards
    JJ (from the great state of Maine)

      JJ. I've been in business 22 years with only one work related injury. A couple of stitches in my finger. The video is a but deceiving because my arm would need to be double the length to get near the blades but I do appreciate your concern.

    Why did you get off the tractor to move it forward with the ripper? Why not use the back hoe and push the tractor forward? It is a lot easier and faster to use the hoe to move the tractor.
    That seat would drive me nuts too. Way to much work to change it around. With that seat I would use the hoe to move the tractor as much as possible. The New Holland 2120 I owned had a seat on the hoe. Was not as comfortable as the tractor seat but a lot better than what I saw.
    Really like the mods you have done on you're tractors.

      Brian Mc Donnell Brian I personally think the BX is really not the candidate for that application. By the time you got all the stuff to have it's own pump plus the time to put into it you'd be better off making or buying one with a good gas engine on it unless it's the challenge your after and no budget considerations involved. Just my opinion sir.

    Where can I get a ripper tool like that? I know you fabricated it, do you sell them?

    • @7863348
      @7863348  Před 9 lety

      Gregory Shaffer
      Yes I designed and fabricated it. When I did these mods I never intended on selling them but I made the mistake of showing them on here and our web site. We got so many emails and calls we removed all the Kubota stuff from our web site. My daytime work don't allow me with any extra time to produce this stuff right now.

      No. I use a Kubota ZG222Z zero turn for our mowing. There's a video or two of it on our channel.

    Did you make that digging tool?

    • @7863348
      @7863348  Před 9 lety

      Brian Mc Donnell Yes and I also designed and built a back hoe quick attach so I could change over from the claw to the bucket in 20 seconds. It used to take 20 minutes before the quick attach. You'll see it in our other video's in various places.

    Oh ya. I love this machine. It's the best investment I've made in a long time. It's exceeded all my expectations and then some. Like in your case the "B" was just to large for my needs. I have the Grand L 5740Cab but that was just crazy big for my summer work. Your going to really enjoy your new machine. You can see more of mine @ specialtyrepairs.ca

    Paul I really enjoy your videos except you own Kubotas. Just kidding. I have always owned John Deere equipment and currently have a Z757 Zero turn and a 1025R. Can you make specialty parts for these type of mower and tractor? I think you have some great ideas. I can make some things but I don't have any welding experience. Thanks for any help.

    • @7863348
      @7863348  Před 7 lety

      Well you know how it is, nothing is perfect. All I got to work with is a few Kubota's lol. My friends tell me I can modify a toaster lol. I do mods on other stuff but only in our area. You really need the machine in shop for the custom stuff. I think your wasting your design talents. If you have a mind for them then get yourself signed up for a welding class at your local trade school and start learning. I bet you'd design some awesome stuff. Thanks for watching.
