09 14 2023 ~ Part 1 Day One: Heppner to Ukiah

I have deemed this to be my favorite ride of 2023, an epic journey through parts unknown and never ridden by me. I have always turned right at Heppner but today I turned left, come join me as I explore a section of the vast beauty of Oregon.

Enjoyed the video, my son & I drove from Ukiah to Heppner a few years back, looking forward to riding our KLR 650's on the Oregon coast.... We're planning a Dallas Tx. to Yosemite trip next summer via KLR'S.

I have an 01 wing and a kwick kamp trailer. I have driven this route many times. I used to live in john day, but now im in bend. Another good ride is to grab 395 out of ukiah and travel down the north fork of the john day river. You can either pull off at ritter junction and ride up the middle fork of the JD river to hwy 26 or head to long creek and go to john day, or head to kimberly. Both rides are great, and there are several state camp grounds along both routes.
