    Chelsea 2 Tottenham 0 This was a terrible Chelsea team with 70% of their first team out injured and we hardly laid a glove on them!.. A pathetic performance…. It’s so obvious that the team are now struggling to buy into Ange’s tactics. There’s no creativity in attack, the midfield are nonexistent or tripping over each other because they don’t really know where they should be, and the defensive play it quite literally Sunday league stuff!.. And all this with what is in my humble opinion a good squad of players!.. Especially defenders!.. Ange keeps telling us they don’t have many matches, well why the hell isn’t he working with the team to irradiate the most basic of issues?.. I’m sorry to say, and obviously would love to be proven wrong but I feel the Premier League is a stap too far for “Ange-ball”!..

    Good afternoon, Alasdair. Only just had time to view your video. Thanks once again for your insight into all things, Tottenham. I personally feel Tottenham needs to get Sonny back to the left-hand side of the attack. He is lost at centre forward as I feel our players aren't getting the ball into him. We need Richi in the middle. Also, I think Madders needs to be moved to the bench for a couple of matches. I feel we need to play Deki in the middle of midfield . Put Johnson on the right.. But I am no manager, but things aren't working as they are at present. Cheers Dennis.

    This is what Big Angela said when asked about set piece trouble; ‘I'm not interested,' said Tottenham's boss ahead of Thursday's trip to Chelsea. 'Never have been. Not in the least. 'It's not the first time I've been questioned about set-pieces in my coaching career. There is an underlying reason for that which I'm very, very comfortable with. 'To quote Billy Joel, you may be right, I may be crazy, but it's maybe a lunatic you're looking for.'

    Thanks for the video Alasdair. A tough defeat to take as it could so easily have been very different, but that has been true of a lot of Spurs’ matches this season. It was certainly very odd that Vicario got no protection from his teammates when defending corners. Ange seems the only one who cannot see that Spurs have a problem with set pieces. I agree that Madison was anonymous and seems to have lost confidence. His first move when he got thw ball always seemed to be away from the opposition goal I was also frustrated by Spurs inability to dribble past the wall of Arsenal defenders especially after Werner was injured. Far too many passes just seemed to go sideways. Hopefully, a better night against Chelsea.

    Just wondering if Ange might consider having three CBs?? Having Dragusin in there would instantly strengthen our set pieces. In his previous positions has he shown any flexibility with the team’s structure or does he stick with it no matter what?

      Can't see this happening, Ange pretty much sticks to this 433/4231 formation and doesn't change it. Also Ange plays very attacking, we pretty much only play with 1 CB right now with Romero going up into midfield while VDV hangs back and sweeps up any through balls. Can't see him changing his system unless he finds a way to go even more attacking

    I want our players to be less nice and more nasty. Rattle the opposition. Somebody should have been up in Ben Whites face if Vicario wasn’t going to do it himself. Little Baby Sarr was the only one who got in between White & Son when White was talking rubbish to him before the pen. Our players need to be more aggressive, make tactical fouls, talk more shit to the other team. Our strikers need to hold their own against the CBs, our wingers need to scare their opposing fullbacks more, we need to control the midfield more because we’re just getting bullied most weeks.

    Hi Alisdair , you will know Son has come out today and said we must get better at defensive set plays I've worked out and calculated that the Tottenham vs Newcastle game could well be the crucial game to decide who finishes 5th Newcastle could quite easily win their four games before they play Tottenham they have Burnley Brighton Brentford Manchester United Spurs if they struggle to pick up points against Liverpool Chelsea and Man city and we win against Burnley and Sheffield United its going to be a showdown game ! .There is currently seven points currently between us and it could come down to that game, if we don't work on our set pieces in time for the Newcastle game , it could be a calamitous end to the season😮

  • @nigelgates1086
    @nigelgates1086 Před 2 dny

    The thing is until Ange recognises the defensive set pieces are a problem nothing is going to change and that is the biggest problem with the defense, with 2 weeks to prepare should have been better. The problem with James Maddison is since he came back from injury he's done virtually nothing but my biggest disappointment with him is when joined I was expecting so much from him from set pieces but he's done nothing. Lo Celso if he's fit should start ahead of Maddison now because he has been delivering when he's been fit and the front 3 you wanted is the same front 3 I wanted. Maybe play Romero at 9 spot and bring Dragusin on as a substitute for him if the front isn't working against Chelsea. I know there are a lot of names thrown around as transfers but we've got a lot of good players in the U-21'S and u-18'S plus Dane Scarlett, Alfie Devine and the young centre half who's name escapes me at Plymouth, I'd really like to think some of these youngsters are close to making it to the first team. All the best to you, take care of yourself and hopefully somebody in our defense will think about sticking up for Vic before our next game enjoy.

    Possession is irrelevant if you don't put that ball over the line between the sticks. Man to man marking is needed right now for THFC in my opinion , it looks like they panic at any corner. . White should have been pushed into the goal each time before any corner was taken and that commotion would have drawn ref's attention as you said. Also why is Son or Johnson in the box when defending corners? Why not leave one or both upfront with pace, this pressures opposition to think we must leave defenders out of our box because we now present them with a break away threat. Modern football teams don't do this why can't we try? Romero was immense 10/10. Terrible Sunday. Beating Chelsea is now a must. Great update AG.
