I'm all here for Ben Davies love! Despite what people on social media have been saying about him for the last 5 years, he's been always there to step in when needed. I feel that most of it is due to him not being some flashy or even exciting player, but he gets the job done! Every Spurs manager he's played with loved having him there and that tells everything about him

I did not see this coming but Pedro Porro has played his way to being one of my favourites in the team! Completely made that position his own, always plays with a smile and so much effort and energy and just has some incredible passing range and technique - definitely is looking his price tag this season.
Sons performance was amazing and got my vote - those take ons for the assists exactly what we’ve been needing wingers to do. If he can play like that regularly then get him back out there for sure, I think a lot of us felt he had not been effective for a while there but that was like prime son again. Having Johnson on the other side too will scare teams for sure.

They swap and change positions so fluidly and now with Udogie pushing into the box, Porro playing as a winger/midfielder and crossing the ball so well bringing Richy, Romero and Kulu headers into the attack we will have so many moving parts opposing teams aren't going to know where to look.

@buddyylove Maybe it will take longer but I'm hoping he's going to build more than just a squad but a dynasty at Spurs, something that carries on after his time there. He gets Spurs winning things or close to but also passes down his knowledge to the coaches like Ryan Mason who will still be there after he's gone & the next manager being a guy with similar principals towards attacking football. I'm hoping Ange builds a winning culture not just a winning squad but that has to come from the board as well.

  • @nigelgates1086

I believe it was away to Leeds last year when Lloris came rushing out of the penalty area to clear the ball completely missed it and a Leeds player was left free and clear to score a goal and then out of nowhere Ben Davies appeared to knock the ball out of danger, quite a sprint to do it. At the start of the season I was a bit worried about Pedro Porro defensive ability but I think he is by far the most improved player, not just defensively, in the squad by a long way, you'd think Harry Kane gave him lessons on passing before he left. I think Pape Mate Sarr return was a huge bonus he certainly makes Bissouma a better player and is a vast improvement on Hojbjerg, although he has his moments, I'd play Sarr every day of the week and twice on Sunday instead of him, a thought that makes me question how good Conte really is. I find interesting you mentioned Romero and that he could have been sent off but didn't mention the Newcastle player that head butted the Spurs player in the same few minutes he certainly should have been sent off but he never even got a yellow card. Romero getting banned for 4 games matters a great deal more though. Thanks for the update with the players out on loan always appreciate that, take care of yourself, stay healthy and enjoy.

Thanks for your great work, Ali ❤
Was looking forward to this one. So fascinating how a couple of new players and position changes can influence the whole team. I thought it was perfect: Sarr starting again and shining bright as always, giving Bissouma the support he needs to show his dominance, Deki through the centre being much more free-flowing and unpredictable, Johnson and Son causing problems down the wings with their pace and 1-v-1 capabilities, Richy being a constant presence, goal threat and hard worker upfront, Porro and Udogie being literally perfect for their roles, and a fabulous display by Ben Davies and Romero - apart from that one moment - as well. Delightful. Up the Spurs ❤

Great content as ever Ali! We really are lucky to have you reporting on Spurs.
Thanks for acknowledging my comment on Romero (it was in your video following the loss to Aston Villa). I know he's frustrating, and I was as worried as everyone when he went in on Wilson that he'd get a 4 match ban for another red card. My only concern is how much lots of fans focus on the negatives, without appreciating all the positives he gives us.

No one seems to be talking about how Vicario opted to loft the ball into midfield multiple times in this game, rather than always play out from the back. It seemed like a nice compromise on the play.

So pleased for Richarlison, I hope he can build on this performance. I have previously remarked how Martin Chivers didn’t start to smash the goals in straight away, hopefully now Richy will now follow in Chivers footsteps.

Thank you for the video, Alasdair. It was great to see Richarlison and Sarr back and see the huge impact they made. I agree that Porro has arguably been the player of the season. It seems like a distant memory that people were questioning whether Udogie and Porro could play together. Impressed with his development and his consistency. Also would like to see more of Veliz and Donley. Especially with Richarlison looking so tired from all his pressing, it would have been nice to see both of them get 20+ minutes of game time. Their development could be crucial to Spurs having real depth for the rest of the season.

Thanks Alasdair - for another great video. Sunday’s performance was exactly what the club and the fans needed.
It’s good to hear that the club is keen to tie some of the younger players into long contracts. Need to put off the big spenders who might try and nick our players.
Totally agree with you about Ben Davies - he has never let the club down and responds well even when he gets limited game time. Not a prima donna bone in his body. Great squad member.

Hi Ally, enjoying your videos by your self and also with Guesty. The team were immense yesterday, they finally managed to get a two goal lead which helped to settle them, that’s why they lost those previous games they didn’t put away the chances they made so the opposition always felt they had a chance, and as usual they gave the ball away to gift a goal.

Ally, Don’t dwell on ‘what if’s’, that way lies madness.
I believe in snatches this team plays the best football I have ever seen Spurs play, and I’ve been going since the mid 70s. It is scintillating.
Fans need patience. Arteta had two 8th place finishes. Klopp took four years to build his team.
I hate the modern attitude of ‘I want it, and I want it now!’ It’s unrealistic and destructive.
I honestly believe Ange will bring us success and provide the most brilliant entertaining football if we just give him time. By that i mean two to three seasons not six months.

    Hi Ali G,
I'm consuming your Tottenham content like mad. Great update as always.
Lot of people missed out on an incident after the crazy Romero tackle - I think it involved Joelinton and Bissouma. Joelinton headbutted Biss, and Biss reacted with a push. Son sprinted off and held back Biss. Luckily, VAR didn't interfere. Both Bissouma and Romero need a peaceful healing season to calm their blood rush to their heads.
Also, really happy for Ben Davies. Solid performance. #COYS

Richarlison so happy with that performance and those goals. Sarr and Porro were sensational. That performance with goals raining in is exactly what Ange has demanded and they responded. Son deserved a goal after his two assists for our 2-0 start. Will be at Everton game so hopefully more of the same Geordie fans are fantastic too. Hope more good news from AG after Nottingham Forest game.

Hi Alasdair, I was really looking forward to this video for all the obvious reasons, it was absolutely the performance and result that was needed after the last 5 games, what a difference it makes to have Sarr back along side Bissouma and a fit and firing Richarlison up front that released Son back onto the left enabling Johnson to play on his natural right hand side. It got my thinking that if Maddison was fit and ready to play then who would be the unfortunate player, probably out of Johnson or Kulusevski to drop out, because that front 4 with Kulusevski in the CAM slot just looked so perfect. And the same thing if say Bentancur was fit and ready, then it'd be out of Sarr and Bissouma to drop out. Anyhow, regardless of those perfect scenarios, January is going to be a big headache with Bissouma, Sarr snd Son all missing at the same time with no guarantees about who's back and fit to play by then, hopefully at least Maddison is ready which could release Kulusevski into Son's left wing spot, but it's those two DM/CM positions that concern me the most. I really hope we get Jota in early in the transfer window and another player that can play in those two DM/CM positions. If Maddison was fit and if we had Jota, then Kulusevski and even Porro could be worth a shot behind Maddison, which would mean someone else 🤷 would have to go to RB. Anyhow I'm getting ahead of myself, so let's just hopefully enjoy a little run of success through to January and let Ange work it out when the time comes as he's probably going to come up with a better solution than myself.😂
Cheers and thanks once again, Mark H.

    Thanks once more Ally!
What I’ve been thinking this week is the dynamic in new technology sales where all people can be characterised as Visionary, Innovator, Pragmatist, Conservative or Laggard with 75% Pragmatic or slower in adopting a new approach.
Between Pragmatism and Innovators there is a thing called the Technology Adoption Chasm where it is very difficult to convince 75% to accept the change. There is a natural tendency once the V’s and I’s are onboard that all the others baulk at the first sign of trouble. Each person requires a personal ‘handrail’ to get across the chasm based on their own experiences.
I’m not a football manager but it seems to me that adapting to a new philosophy may well be very similar in nature - and the fanbase would be included in that analysis to.
Stay the course everyone and she’ll be right mate 🇦🇺
