I started this channel in 2018 and have really enjoyed documenting my experiences in the outdoors to share on CZcams! I enjoy Hiking, Camping, Canoeing, and Bushcrafting. I have a full-time job so making these videos is a hobby for me. I post 2 videos per month on average and am proud of the consistency I have been able to maintain over these past three years. If you have watched one of my videos, commented, liked, shared, and/or subscribed then please know that I am grateful 🙏🏼
Overnight in a Tipi-Tarp
I had never tried my tarp in this configuration before. My thoughts are that it looks great but is only functional in really nice weather. The ground sheet is a plus but if it were raining much stronger than a drizzle - I think you'd get wet. I also attempted to cook over coals in the Bushbuddy stove but as you'll see that didn't go as planned either. Still, this was a nice outing and I was happy to be able to do it before the mosquitoes and ticks take over. Thanks for joining me on this one! - Clint

Victorinox RangerGrip 79 REVIEW
zhlédnutí 1,4KPřed 2 měsíci
I've been looking for a knife that can fit in my pocket but still carry the punch of a hefty bushcraft knife, and I think I just might have found it! In this review I cover all of the functions of this Swiss army knife and put the blade and saw to the test. Hope this video is helpful to those considering making this purchase. Take care everyone! - Clint Subscribe to the channel & follow on: Ins...
Overnight in a Bivy
zhlédnutí 383Před 3 měsíci
Got a late start on this outing but maximized my time in the woods by keeping it simple! No tent, tarp, or fancy gear to mess with... just a bivy bag, air mattress and sleeping bag. Made a nice little campfire with some good food - it doesn't get much better than that! - Clint Subscribe to the channel & follow on: Instagram: explore_your_land Twitter: mobile. exploreyo...
Lunch in the Forest ~ Cooked over the Coals
zhlédnutí 249Před 3 měsíci
With only a few short hours of time off, I had just enough time to pack a bag and get into the woods to cook a lunch over the coals. Fried pork chop with onions, garlic, and mushrooms in the middle of a quiet forest was exactly what I needed to decompress! As always, thanks for watching and I'll see you on the next one real soon. - Clint Subscribe to the channel & follow on: Instagram: instagra...
Cold Plunge in the River
zhlédnutí 90Před 5 měsíci
I hadn't done any kind of "polar plunge" since my college days so when the start of the new year rolled around I decided that this was a great opportunity to dunk in the river! The benefits of cold water therapy are well known but I don't think I'll be starting a regimen of plunging any time soon 🤣 Happy 2024 to everyone... I hope this is a good one for us all! Take care. - Clint Subscribe to t...
Paddling the Cape Fear River (NC)
zhlédnutí 774Před 7 měsíci
Nathan and I are back on another overnight canoe trip down the Cape Fear River in North Carolina. The class 1 and 2 rapids were pretty tame this go around since the water levels were low but we had a blast anyway. This trip is what I think the essence of this channel embodies: finding the adventure around you! Hope you enjoy - Clint Subscribe to the channel & follow on: Instagram: instagram.com...
3W Wood Stove MODIFICATION
zhlédnutí 367Před 8 měsíci
The Wild Wild West Titanium Wood Stove is a great piece of kit. It packs down nicely and works well... except for one piece - the chimney pipe connector. The connection is very loose and relies on a delicate balance with the tent stove jack. Since the chimney rests on the outside of the connector, moisture and creosote can run down the pipe, leak out, and burn on top of the stove creating smoke...
Canoe/Kayak Sail on Amazon

I was definitely skeptical but as long as it's anchored down well then this little sail really does the trick! And for only $18 (at the time of filming), you can't beat the price. how does it hold up vs that metal tab there?
I use the metal tabs when camping the majority of the time but didn’t in this video so I could demonstrate the knot. Taut line might come in handy if those tabs broke or if you needed to tie on an extra guy line.
I wouldnt trust my life to his teachings that's for sure
Look at his ferro rod that's from uneven pressure and lack of knowledge on use
What size you wearing in this video?
Looks like it would be easier just to hold an umbrella to catch the wind lol
Pro tip: connect it to your PFD with a carabiner so you can adjust tension left or right, using your feet against foot stops or the sides, and your hands holding the paddle like a rudder, you can actually sail with what you have ;)
🤩🤩🤩
AWSOME VIDEO REVIEW !!!😂
Why on earth would you baton such a small log anyway? And why not at 90deg angle like one is supposed to do with all folders? Lastly, why baton in the first place?
Just wanted to see if the knife could do it. Good call on the 90 degree angle, definitely should have done that instead 👍🏼
@@ExploreYourLand Don't get me wrong, I love that knife, but I'm not in favour of batoning when used as a standard procedure. Under exceptional circumstances yes, but there are much better alternatives, such as using bigger more robust tools or wedges. Of course, my main question always is "Why?" Generally, there's usually more "small wood" lying around than thick logs! It's like using your knife spine to create sparks from a ferro rod and saying it is an indispensable feature of a good knife. One could use so many other items to do that! Thanks for replying. Much appreciated.
Epic trip! that day 2 morning was beautiful! An ultralight cast iron skillet, yes please!
Of course it works. Lol! I had one on an Intex Challenger inflatable kayak. It was a lot of fun. But I will buy a better one later as the cheap ones don't last.
Very informative and nicely presented and explained.
Thanks Rick! 🙏🏼
hi from France .I discovered the channel, superb videos on your channel, really, one more subscriber out of solidarity between nature lovers and CZcamsrs🙂👍
Thank you! 🙏🏼
Where is this?
Located near Falls Lake in central NC
@@ExploreYourLand I've hiked the section of MST around Falls Lake. What a lovely area!
That's really awesome.... How long do they last, roughly???
I’ll give it a little test tomorrow and get back to you 🫡
Sorry for the delay… I just tested and got a really solid 50 minute burn before it put itself out
This video was perfect. It's one of the major factors I look for in outdoor videos. An honest review
nice setup! yeah those twigs stoves are real tricky to cook on :)
Maybe time for a hammock?! Fun little camp - love the bird sounds.
The hammock would have definitely been an improvement! 😂
great idea!
Cool!
Work on a bicycle to
😮
One of the best video which I ever seen ❤
Nice
battening with a liner lock might show the built quality but its not made to deal with such stress and it will break sooner or later.
You are fine to let the air in
Thank You. Information I needed to know with my compromised physique. If/when I get back hiking, I'll need an easier hike.
🤤
That is pretty sweet....$70 tho...goodness .....thx for thr review brother 🫡
Great review. Been in the market for a good multitool. Will check it out.
Dude!!! that is a sweet knife, I want one for my pocket, my car, my house, and my shed ;) (I'd use the corkscrew for sure)
honestly i was gonna build my own with wood but after this video I'm going to buy and build this lean to green house. I have an outdoor porch that's about 7' x 5' so ill get the 8ft x4ft version and cut down one of the clear panels to fit. Ill also build a back piece to fill in the gap in the back.
Sounds awesome! Let me know how it turns out 💪🏽
@@ExploreYourLand definitely will!
Thanks for this! I will purchase one and give it a try!
Omg my wife has brought me one for my kayak and paddleboard can not wait to try it out. Its gonna be so much fun. Brilliant video and review of it. You just made it more exciting for me when I get out on the water. I'm from cornwall uk. I started kayaking a year ago when me and the wife moved here and this will be Brilliant on windy days
Enjoy!!!
If I needed to divide this hike into two nights and 3 days are the camping sites along to accommodate that?
Dispersed camping is allowed and in my opinion there are plenty of open spaces to do so
It is quite obvious that he was struggling with the pulling strokes on the Silky. Old habits are hard to change. But what ever feels best. I would hand down go for the Silky and probably could cut that log under 150 strokes with half the effort.
lol "I don't hate it" I would never have thought to try cooking an egg like that. That meatball packet looked really good!
That looked like a great trip out!! Glad to see you back and making amazing meals!!!
Man, you sure know how to live! That tin foil meal is the first way we taught our scouts to cook on a campfire (and that THEY could cook!). Wonderful video. Thank you!
Nothing better than camping under the stars and a hot cup of campfire coffee in the morning!
I'm guilty of trying to be He-Man and break a large branch over my knee 🙃. What forest are you camping in ? One egg 🥚 down, glad the bacon worked out. Nice simple 🏕 camp. Thanks for sharing.
Near Falls Lake in central North Carolina
With thick or hard rope works not so good, you need to wrap 3 times instead of two
Great video. I admire your commitment
Thank you 🙏🏼
That is the only way I know of it .. and I struggle at trying not to be ... successfully.
I wanna enjoy coffee by the sea while watching the sunrise! Your video is amazing!!! Thank you so much for sharing❤️
That sounds amazing… I hope you can make it happen!
Hmm yummy pork chop!! Glad to you again, hope things are well!
So glad to see you back. I have missed your videos and hope to see them regularly again! You are an inspiration!!
Eating good in the woods!
Glad to see you back out on the trail!!! I hope you get alot more time this summer!
curious how much weight were you carrying? looks like a lot!
I think it was between 30-35 pounds
How does the bell not drive you crazy? I feel you’d probably have more views without it.
It does for a bit and then I don’t notice it much. I hate that I could silence it for the video but I had run into bears before on this very same hike and wasn’t keen on that happening again 😅
