Bushcrafting a Swedish Torch

- I chose eastern red cedar for the Swedish torch because it's highly flammable. Cedar contains a variety of oils that make it easy to ignite. This was a fun project and for the most part I was pleased with the outcome. Improvements would include: making the torch a bit shorter (maybe 1 foot long), carving more gaps for air flow, and lighting from the top instead of the bottom. Thanks for watching! - Clint

Awesome little guide and retrospective - thanks Clint! I love the sounds of the woods in the background.
Learning is my main motivation for getting out lately. Trying different techniques, different setups and my favorite.... different food. Hahaha
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year! 🎉
Nice, I have never tried a Swedish torch , I watched a CZcamsr drill a 2 inch hole down a log and drilled a 2 inch hole in the bottom towards the other drilled hole and lit it from that bottom drilled hole and it really worked well and burned along time , he said it has to be 2 inches or more to burn well
I haven't tried it yet, but I heard if you put the bacon in a cold pan and then bring it to temp the bacon will not stick as bad?
torch tip: I've seen it where they take 1 of the 4 and cut a section out of it, so when you put them together it makes an airflow hole, I think if you do that and keep the sides tight it will create more of the rocket stove effect. As usual enjoyed the vid, glad to see you back!
Great tips, I appreciate it!
