I really love this record, but i disagree with some of anthony's thoughts. This record is pretty overproduced to me, some of the rests between chugs going completely silent feels odd and fake to me, the huge amount of layers to the guitars while they create this enormous epic sound that feels almost orchestral is starkly different to the cranked amps and feeling the spin kicks through the speakers that we've gotten from knocked loose in the past and other hxc acts atm. I think the riffs on this album don't match the quality of riffs on their last two LPs, though i feel that says more about their last two being THAT good. It's still a fuckn great album and I'm sure will love more the more i listen.

I thought the album was way too short on the first listen, but the more I listen, the more what you said is right. This album didn't need to 35+ minutes. As a matter of fact, it'd probably be detrimental to the overall quality of the album itself. This ain't prog. Doesn't really need all that.

I saw them live a couple times in the early days with just the EP and debut album out and its so sick to see how far they've come. Seriously sick

As a hardcore old head from New England I think this sounds like Most Precious Blood with Kurt Ballou on guitar tuned drop G. It’s unrelenting, aggressive, chaotic, while being tight and following a simple song structure. It’s very good but probably won’t listen to that often

Let’s follow this up with another 9 on the new death’s dynamic shroud album shall we?

Boundaries album was a bit better than this in my opinion, but this album is great too

The 90s death metal snare on top of the very hardcore-esque songwriting on this record fuckin blew my mind

When a score is this high, (or even low), I’ll sometimes listen before I watch Fantano give his thoughts on the work. So glad I did. I think Fantano might have even underrated this sonic kick the cerebellum; holy shit

It's a shame that this album is getting tons of praise but Symptoms Of Survival by Dying Wish is getting completely over looked 💔 IMO they're better than knocked loose.

Wow I can’t believe fantano even knows who knocked loose is let alone likes them. That’s shocking. They really have pushed through to normie culture and that’s awesome for the genre as a whole. Good for them.

Fantano saying Eden from Spirit of Eden is basic Post-rock was the most painful thing that happened to me today.

Am I the only one who didn't really like this record? No recognizable riffs and the guitars weren't too distinct. I like music of this style but this just doesn't land. At least we've got xWeaponx and Inclination

Knocked Loose are the goats and this album slaps but don’t ever trust anything melon says when it comes to metal/hardcore/deathcore. KL is the furthest thing from metal core as well, which explains why Melon never gives metal core albums good reviews.

Hate this rating criteria, like so many 10/10 albums in the 90s/00s would have been a 9 if he had rated it now. It's so strict; there's so much inconsistency. The rating system should be impartial and not affected by any motivation to shed light on lesser known projects. Only two 10/10 in this decade? There is no way.
