So glad Cal graduated from the Tortured Poets Department and became Anthony’s English teacher 🥰
It's Anteny
@@matthewengle9554way to ruin it buddy
using beach house as a pfp is tuff
Love the fact that Cal has returned. Hope he’s recovering ok from COVID.
Anthony Fantano could be Bald
Big if true
He just might be
i died
BALD!
That cardigan is crazy
if 1984 is a cardigan
surprised him didn't mention the bassline on Daffodils. One of the inventive bass techniques i've ever seen and it's an phenomenal line throughout the track. Has to be seen live to appreciate
He maybe didn't know if he only listened to the album - I heard it as a single and tbh I thought it was a sequencer then I seen him perform it live
Beyoncé: This Ain’t Texas 🤠
English Teacher: This Could Be Texas 🤯
Found "World's Biggest Paving Slab" nearly a year ago looking for new stuff.
I can't believe this is their first album. Song felt like something older that I stumbled across.
I think Albert Road is my song of the year. Though you'd probably only get the most out of the lyrics if you're familiar with the experience of growing up in a Northern English market town.
It went from This Ain't Texas to This Could Be Texas, can't wait for This Is Texas
They might be texas
This should be Texas
Some might say that Texas is the Reason
This ain’t Texas (woo!) ain’t no hold em
I can't believe it's not Texas!
Gotta say, wearing a Mac Miller’s Faces mixtape sweater was a pretty bold move, Melon.
cold visions cold visions
😂😂😂
That’s a fair score but Albert Road is a fantastic closer and I hope melon realizes this soon.
absolutely loved this album. They had me hooked with the other version of R&B and then Albert Road
i prefer the previous version over the album version
@@sonnyfer it has more vigour and emotion deffo
If English Teacher titled this album …… uh um uh um uh hold on let me think um uh wait uhhhhhhhh……… “To Pimp A Classroom”, you would have given an album an 11 out of 10.
i found this band a couple months ago in the leadup to this album and thought the collection of singles was an EP and that that was all we were gonna get from them. so glad this album came out because it's really good and adds to my evergrowing collection of uk indie bands i can't get enough of. bcnr, divorce, and yard act being some other of my faves currently.
Nearly daffodils has been stuck in my head for weeks now, keep going back to it, it's honestly great
*NEARLY!*
Yes anthony you deserve an A for letting Cal chuchesta appear in every video
Your thumbnail game has been on point!
Bro really reviewed the album in this video 💀

What did you think of Ugly (UK)'s "Twice around the Sun". I absolutely bloody love it
They were announced as the opener for Idles in Boston this September so I've been checking this album out, I enjoy it and will take some time to grow.
Strongly recommend this album. Listened to it on release on a whim, everything except The Best Tears of Your Life was good to great, Not Everybody Gets to Go to Space and R&B omega slap.
Please review Cindy Lee
cold visions bladee
Loved this record
Thought this was going into the 2024 catch up video, glad you reviewed this one
Had the pleasure of seeing them live a few months back, beyond excellent, they are going to do something special one day. However, the album is just a bit too mid-tempo to really live up to the hype. However, there’s so much potential on show here I can’t help be excited for whatever comes next. The World’s Biggest Paving Slab goes so, so hard.
bring the cold visions review
seeing them live in august, i think their stuff is pretty cool
Can't believe we got GTA VI before the Cindy Lee review
just review cold visions already
Review new Bladee. it's a 10/10 and you know it.
You would have given it a 10 if it was called "this could be California"
it could be the empire state building
@@creathechiboilet me explain this in a language you will understand -
REVIEW COLD VISIONS BY BLADEE, we know u love this stuff
I agree with Blister my Paint and Sideboob being a bit slow, but Albert Road is my favorite song of the album. Also, some love for Broken Biscuits❤
Definitely gonna check this album out!
reviews dillom's album Por Cesárea🙏🙏🙏
ok now do Blue Bendy - So Medieval, the much better art rock debut album out of the UK
WE JUST WANT THE NEW BLADEE
Absolutely loving the fit. Cardigan looks great !!

HYPERDRAMA review when????
Cindy lee new album review when ?
I can see Anthony giving it either a 9 or a 5. I really hope he reviews it eventually.
pls!!!!!!!! bladder revuew!!!!!!!
Wow melon has really gone crazy with the thumbnails recently wow
It's actually funny because I really love all the songs that you had gripes with, and I play the second half a lot more often
However, this is also one of my fav releases this year, so I generally don't have a problem with anything here
This might be the first time I’ve agreed with any of your takes, some real misses on this album but the tracks they get right are really incredible and im looking forward to seeing what they do next (and seeing them in a couple weeks!)
Anthony, I was thinking right, you ever plan to make an actual review of that one kid cudi album you skipped? Specifically “Satellite Flight: The Journey to Mother Moon”
You have rarely ever talked about it and I really wish to see what your thoughts on it are
Waittt when did u review this?!!!
Beyonce: this ain't texas
english teacher: hold my beer-
okay now you’re making me mad where is bladee
When are you going to review Fabiana Palladino
Can you review king whatever by the ghost club it dropped last Friday 😊
Highly recommend listening to "Sprints - Letter to Self". I know there's no shortage of punk/indie bands this year, which is no bad thing, but they really are very good. I think they stand out from the ever growing crowd.
is that Pop Culture Detective merch or does the design just look like that?
I honestly needed new rock music in my life so badly
What do you mean if there even is a next time??? DON'T LEAVE US CAL!!!! 😭😭😭😭
That Cal joke took me right out
Looking healthy Fantano, and digging the sweater!
That intro joke was pretty clever. Got a laugh out of me.
Really loving the Cal comeback recently on the channel
nice sweater lol. only you could pull off that look. your awesome!!
Anthony out here with the School of Mensis cardigan 🔥
Speaking of being late to the party with excellent English indie albums that came out this year (😉)…..would love to see you review Nadine Shah’s “Filthy Underneath”? ☺️ For my money one of the best albums of the year so far, and from what I can see it’s being criminally slept on. Have a listen and tell the people, Anthony! :)
Can you review Fabiana Palladino's debut album "Fabiana Palladino" ? An absolute marvel of an album. I'd like your take on that album. Album also co-produced by Jai Paul.
Review Pharrell's Virginia Black Yacht Rock Vol. 1 it just came out a couple of days ago
CAL CHUCHESTA WITH GLASSES???
Keeping an eye on his sweater game, I see.
Also, Kyros review? Yeah?
Very glad you reviewed this, easily my AOTY as of now
Mr Melon - can I convince you to review the new Night Tapes EP?
New bladee, get on it
he be killing the fits lately
Sometimes, like on World's Biggest, there's something about the engineering that leads to the guitars and sounds in general on this record lacking an edge and blending together into a nondescript jumble of noise, not nearly as pleasant as shoegaze records like the recent feeble little horse album, but still hard and I'll admit this is still a great record and I enjoyed it most of the time. It's sometimes giving BC,NR, like Broken Biscuits could've flat out been on Live at Bush Hall between the instrumental movements and the vocal switches from singing to deadpan. But their range to also pull off something more aggressive seemed good too. They're clearly very capable and I look forward to more, the engineering was just a huge snag that held back this record's best songs for me.
FANTANO THIS IS NOT THE BLADEE ALBUM
REAL
Anything below an 8 and i will cry
sick, the basslines are so good, i really like this band
Ninethony Livestano? Will you review Ashley Ninelives?
In the chorus of "The World's Biggest Paving Slab" I can't un-hear the similarity with Desperate Journalist's "Be Kind".
can't believe cal held onto those glasses for all these years
Cal can graduate now to his very own channel. *sniffle* they grow up so fast.
Thumbnail reminds me of the Scholar joker from Balatro
Review Karkaza’s “Let It Rise”
Totally agree! Really excited for this band. I think they have *it*, but the true great showstopping record is down the line.
This album is great but unfortunately only the second best indie/post-rock album with Texas in the title
What's the first one?

I've listened to this album a few times now and, yep, this is a pretty fair review, although I believe I like it more than Anthony. As a sidenote, however, I really don't like the album art. It reminds me of something dada/surrealist Max Ernst might've done, which is what I think they were going for, but not nearly as good.
please don’t ever stop, you contribute so much for the music scene. We were wondering if you can review our album?🥺Bog Monkey Hollow
Only Texas could be Texas, Fantano
nice cardigan anthony !
Bro those thumbnails are reaching new heights
review the new St. Vincent record
This could be Texas, but it ain't no hold 'em
Yo ID on the cardigan?
Transition/Album Listen...bars like THAT are why Cal is considered in the Top 3 rapmen conversations
Seldom agree with this man but I'm as close as I ever been here and he highlighted "nearly daffodils" . So yeah, Mercury Music contenders for sure if they enter... but I guess that means as much as Eurovision and what drugs the judges are taken that night. All releases and there was a few were all one vinyl too 😉.... I guess the twins will come later. "Best tears of your life" is not near as autotuned as he makes out - just the song title "chorus" and it gives more than it takes. The album has incredible movement in all directions - like the wax in a lava lamp.but yes
keep an eye on them - a talent for sure
Very good live - very good
“Mr. Flamblablo” is my new favorite fantaname
At least a 9. It's a great debut!
Woah he has DAMN. On his shelf it must be a 10 for him now
Weird they emailed me the other day
