Y'all know this is just my opinion, right? - Hudba
These thumbnails are getting out of hand
wtf is happening xD
100% let's fucking go... fuck these titles and thumbnails right the fuck up for the rest of 2024!!!
And I’m loving it
we're watching the fantano renaissance era unfold.
IKR!?
this thumbnail run is generational
can't help but feel the post-6th season spongebob vibes with it tho tbh
I would like, but you're at 666 likes
Fantano is Lowkey peaking rn in popularity and content quality
I’m glad Fantano is finally taking this channel seriously
More like cal is finally taking it seriously
@@yourboibigbrain7353We will never forget Cal’s contributions to the team.
Cal just took over
Yeah, I'm happy that there is more "love" in this video, more edits, more Cal, more people, not just a simple Review, it really feels a fresh air
definitely because of the kids on twt who kept callin him old
Taylor Swift should release a sludge metal album if she wants to improve her score
I might actually listen to Taylor Swift then
Id love that tbh
I wanna see her neurotic fans reaction to that
I'd buy that so very quickly
Sludge metal is for incels who still live in mom's basement. Sad.
thumbnail game immaculate
New High On Fire, Melvins, Iron Monkey, Bongripper AND Toadliquor?
2024 has been an amazing year for Sludge Metal so far.
I found out about all these releases over a two day span, I'm in disbelief, new iron monkey and this are my favourites though
Was kind of disappointed with the Bongripper album tbh. Hopefully it's a grower
@@acidbased2654 yeah same thought it was heavy enough but it didn't really wow me, definitely gonna give it a couple more listens though
New Bongripper is great. All their albums are name your price too on Bandcamp.
This is how I learn there's a new Iron Monkey? Damn, I need to get on that
It's great to see Matt Pike hasn't lost any edge since getting sober.
Matt’s not the only member of the band. If you want to know where the middle eastern influences come from, follow Bass/Guitar player Jeff Matz. Jeff’s influence is getting bigger on every record. He’s writing guitar parts and all the middle-eastern influences come from Jeff’s study of the Bağlama and Turkish folk music.
Al has nothing to do with this record.
This, yeah. Matt Pike is awesome, but Jeff Matz's work on this album needed way more of a mention.
Yes...they are an incredible band, and Jeff is a tremendous musician, his bass lines have always been present, and the work of the new drummer adapts perfectly to the style of the band.
SLUDGE METAL STONER METAL SUPREMACY!!!
Never click on anything faster than Fantano's metal reviews. love the album.
I never understood people who don’t rate melon’s metal reviews. Seen a few I don’t agree with, but generally he gives praise to bands who deserve it.
@@tomvandersluys446 He hates metal that's proggy and nuanced and those reviews are painful to listen to. It sounds like he listens to the first 2 songs and then checks out mentally
@@ileutur6863 Why am i to believe you? That Anthony Fantano hates progressive and 'nuanced' metal? Why would i believe this? he likes these things, must be something else in these records you speak of.
@@ileutur6863 proggy and nuanced? What, like King Gizzard (their metal albums), Tomb Mold, Panopticon, Liturgy, Civerous? I’ve seen heaps of prog and experimental metal bands get 7s, 8s and 9s.
@@tomvandersluys446To be fair King Gizzard’s first metal album was not proggy, it was a fantastic record however. I thought their last one was disappoint and Melon overrated it.
The new High On Fire and Melvins is awesome however.
One of the most consistent metal bands of all time. Matt is a god.
It's impossible for Matt Pike to write a bad riff. He's a riff master.
Years ago I saw HoF on tour with Zeke and a bunch of other bands. I came out of that show thinking "Man, that bassist from Zeke would fit High on Fire better than the dude that's in the band now would."
A few years later George Rice left and Jeff Matz stepped in. The prophecy was fulfilled, and it has been good ever since.
The Storm aint the only thing that's Cometh with these thumbnails, Cal appearances and that's a Metal review YEAH
Saw the thumbnail and thought bro became a meteorologist for a second 😭😭
I cant tell if its Katrina or Ivan or a storm more recent
BELL WITCH, SPIRIT POSSESSION, HARMS WAY, GEL REVIEWS PLZZZZZZ
*yes, I will not stop with these essential records you missed last year*
He's not gonna go back and review stuff from last year, lol. Bell Witch was great but didn't bring anything too new to the table for them, and I saw them play it live and it was incredible.
Was vaping in the back of the venue at the last high on fire gig and Matt was hanging out back there with his wife and kid smoking a cig. Really genuine dude, seen SLEEP and HOF tons of times but it was surreal meeting a guitar legend. He's a genuine lifer.
"The bass player" smdh put some respect on Jeff Matz' name.
comethany stormtano is crazy icl
2024 is melons year for thumbnails I love to see it
HUNTING SHADOWS is probably my favourite due to the powerful Pike's voice.
Yeah man. Loved his singing. It surprised me a bit too.
Like an epic drunken dirge in a mead hall with comrades
I saw them at Psycho when they first introduced Coady Wallis I think 3 years ago (RIP Psycho :( ) and he's so perfect. He's always been a beast with Big Business and he takes HoF to a new level. Caught them back in the late fall at home in the East Bay and yeah those of us that have known Matt since the early Sleep days in coffee shops in San Jose are as happy as ever to see him thriving
Coady is a great drummer, but not in the same league as Des.
Man I've been loving these new thumbnails!
Lightning Beard is becoming my favorite. Like this better as a whole than Electric Messiah.
Coady Willis was the perfect pick for a new drummer! Love his work in Big business and the Melvins, he crushed his first tour with HOF too! \m/
man I checked out Trismegistus and you're right, Matt Pike's vocals are absolutely beastly on this
Ooh Fantano you got my sludge cometh
Trismegistus became one of my new favorite songs by them. They know how to create new material that caters to their fans but still put a new spin on it. Jeff studied under Turkish folk instructors that led to the sound of “Karanlik yol” I feel it was a nice bridge between the first bit of the album and the second
Trismegistus is the most diabolical song Matt’s ever written.
You know, I’m really happy to see all these jokes/bits in your reviews. It really makes it seem like you truly love your job and the music you listen to. Keep up the great work! 👍
So glad to see all these metal reviews from this year, I really love the attention you're giving the genre. Of course this is quite the year for quality metal releases so far, so I get why! As for High on Fire, I feel like I've always kind of slept on them, so it's interesting to see you rate it so high. Personally I have a tough time with the vocals on this one but maybe I'll come around
YAY! New metal review!
I'm not big into High on Fire but def gonna check this one out.
Thanks for the review. Haven't listened to High on Fire since 2018, excited to listen to this album. Hope you review Cindy Lee next
Meme comments aside, I found this album to be much more enjoyable than I initially thought "sludge metal" would have been. It's great!
Loving the increased production value, skits, and creative thumbnails lately!
Matt vocals on Trismegistus are insane, my favorite metal album this year along with Bongripper
Coady Willis on drums made me a fan. He's been a favorite of mine since his time in Murder City Devils 🤘🤘
Coady Willis has a big impact on this album for me. I hope he stays with them for years to come.
Incredible thumbnails, Cal is back, what a run the channel is on right now
i seriously love this bands drummer, he has such an interesting way of playing that is unlike typical metal playing
It's actually a new drummer for this album!
@@BrofUJu very interesting.. nonetheless a great job and a similar idea
DROP THE BLADEE REVIEW
it's a 4 for him. 9 for anyone with ears
@@mrsii5843thas what I’m saying😵💫
I follow a bunch of meteorologists on CZcams, so the thumbnail really confused me for a second lol.
loving the thumbnails recently
Thanks for this...Bongripper - Empty review next pretty please!
Cometh the Storm (Matt Pike's Version)
a couple tracks in, this sounds badass. big mastadon vibes
Mastodon actually formed the band at a High on Fire gig! Their influence is huge.
This album is the fucking nuts last track is filth. Been a decent year for metal music so far
To any sludge fans: If you dig High on Fire, check out Finland's 'Demonic Death Judge', especially their latest three albums, The Trail, Seaweed and The Descent. In my ears, it's equal to the Greats in sludge metal.
THIS THUMBNAIL GAME!!!!
austen cooking with these thumbnails
nah that's Anthony; the only thing i've done is put the fridge in the English Teacher one lol
Love the album but still need a few more spins to get my feeling. Matt pike never disappoints and as much as I love Des , Cody takes the band to a whole another level.
Hell yeah! Pike & Co. never let us down. Would love to see a review of the new Dvne album too please and thank you sir.
keep going with the wacky thumbnails and cal cameos dude it's been gold lately
The thumbnails are banging, Cal is back, all is well
Meteorthony Ologistano ☔️
If you have an opportunity to see these guys live, make it happen! Got to see them open for meshuggah a few years back and my socks got completely rocked. Pike puts on a hell of a show. Can’t believe I’ve been loving this band for almost 20 years now! 🤘
High On Fire do not have a bad album
Love your metal reviews. Always makes my day, thanks man. This album is a return to form for HOF imo.
Melons thumbnail game is very on point of late. Here for it!
Thumbnail hits hits hits hits…Jeff Matz plays some Turkish stuff and result is pretty wild : Karanlık Yol means Dark Way , as Turkish fan i would like to say Istanbul awaits High on Fire 🎉
i read this notification so briefly when i opened my notifs tab that i thought it said "The Nightman Cometh" review and got shocked into reopening the notifs to see if that was REAL. the nightman cometh review when melon
The guitar tone on this album is one of the best in metal I've heard in a while. The drumming is really dynamic too. Top album. Top 3 HoF.
I respect The Melon for his wide knowledge and appreciation of the history of hip hop, but goddamn I love hearing him talk about one of my favorite bands.
Listened to this while hiking today and really loved it. Good shit💥
This is my favorite album in years, so many years. I’m talking like 2009 when HIL put out “It Hates You”. This album is just… 👌🤌 chefs kiss. Tough Guy is the toughest song I’ve ever wrecked my car to.
Thumbnails killing it
You did it Anthony. I clicked on this just for the thumbnail
We’ll never forget about Cal.
Oh dear, melon is forming a personality. This could mean the end of the world as we know it.
Incredible thumbnail run
Perfect review! But not perfect: the album ends with one of the best doom landscapes (that they) ever composed, to be witnessed even more than listened, not rising pyrotechnics but crumbling giants, the end as the end, cosmically relentless as to say: this is the-end-but-for-ever-and-ever (so in a way there is hope, "And I believe!". Wonderful madness). Also full of nuances anyway, and strategically a very fitting way, after a mostly busy second half, to hook you into another listen, via this magic trick that ends "not with a bang" WITH a bang.
And yes, it's about time to give more credits to Jeff Matz, he is the hidden second guitarist, he wrote the immense title track, and some other immortal stuff like Sanctioned Annihilation, he was such a lucky match for this blessed black band (as Des, as Coady, but also George Rice wrote some invincibile stuff like Fireface, and the second guitarist that they had briefly before the first album, Karl Larson, helped with a classic like Blood From Zion, so really the stars alligned over Matt and his friend since Sleep)
where were you when melon dropped 2 of his best thumbnails back to back
I love your videos Anthony. Thank you.
Keep the creativity coming 🔥🔥
thumbnail game on point but why is Cal replacing the "note" playing when the band+album title card disappears in the intro ? this is my drug give me my note back melon
We are so back. Unbelievable back.
The thumbnail is getting more creative
Love seeing Cal back! We missed him!
Yo Anthony, are you gonna review the new Dvne album? I really like it.
Hell yeah this is very well deserved! Probably their best material since Snakes for the Divine (imo)
The thumbnail glow ups and Cal's return is the best thing to happen in 2024 so far
I'm glad Cal is back in your videos, I missed him
Please review the new My Dying Bride and/or Hamferd albums.
Hve u reviewed any of their albums before? Thx
Fantano is so good he made a hip hop fan listen to metal music. Respect
I would highly recommend you checking out Voidkind by Dvne, it's phenomenal and amongst the progy/sludge metal scene it topping some peoples favourite of the year so far.
Another great LP by High On Fire, Matt for President.
your thumbnails are insane now
Best Pike vocal performance to date on this
Oh I thought this was going to be a Blue's Clues kind of thing where since Cal went to college in the last video we weren't going to see him again. Glad to see that's not the case
He’s attending the tortured poets department online bro. Dw he’s still learning but he can do it from home 👍
@@marshallfarstad3770 so glad
Great review man
Probably a good time to finally check out this band, idk how I haven’t when one of my fav albums of all time is Dopesmoker by Electric Wizard
Electric wizard doesn’t have an album called Dopesmoker. They have one called Dopethrone and Sleep is the band that made Dopesmoker.
@@rowdycowboy5029hahah I keep getting those mixed up but yes dopethrone is a 10/10 album
@@sorinsoriayea both dopethrone and dopesmoker are awesome albums
Bongripper’s new record Empty is out. So good.
I was hoping you'd review this
Jeff Matz has been studying Turkish folk music
This release absolutely crushes...
This album is incredible!!! Cant wait to get my beautiful view vinyl
METAL IS BACK BOI.
Btw review the new Knocked Loose x Poppy track
I hope he reviews the whole album when it's out. First 3 songs are complete savagery.
Matt Pike here is delivering his best lead playing and best vocals in a HOF record overall
hope you review the new Darkthrone, going to be a special album.
I didn’t know you were into doom adjacent stuff, please review the new Skull Servant EP
High on Fire always has an insane Opening Track
Fuck yesssssssss!!! Was waiting for a metal review! Kick-Ass album! I think nothing will top Snakes for the Divine for me but killer album nonetheless
