Chance had a really cool rise to fame, starting out as just a kid making mixtapes. Sure, the hype surrounding him was maybe a bit much, but the talent and influence was there. I remember listening to Acid Rap when it dropped, and I loved it. His flow and charisma on the mic was unlike anything I ever heard at that point, even if the album didn’t age as gracefully as I had hoped. Coloring Book absolutely deserved the praise and hype surrounding it and I stand by it being one of the best projects of the 2010’s.
This new release is actually a big coincidence for me because I recently commented on your newest “Let’s Argue” video mentioning Chance’s possible comeback. I thought the Big Day was a bad album, but I definitely think the hate surrounding it was blown out of proportion. It’s really sad how everyone turned so sour on Chance after only one bad album, and I don’t blame him for being so cautious about releasing a new project. I think the singles he has sporadically released throughout the 2020’s thus far have been great, so I’m hoping for a continuation of that sound and style. Best of wishes to Chance

As a chance fan living in Chicago I recently got to hear a few of his new songs that are currently unreleased (presumably to be released on this album) and was very impressed. I didn’t like the big day but he has clearly been working on his pen game and narrative flow a tremendous amount in the last few years. I agree that the visuals at the end of this one were weird asf tho lmao hopefully that isn’t indicative of the overall project.
Acid rap was so fucking good and dark and moody and unique and he switched up so hard it’s like he turned into a Christian rocker 😂

Acid Rap can not be overhyped. I still listen to it in totality at least once a year. I only do that for eight other albums. Individually I get that the songs aren't the best things ever, but like Forrest Hills Drive, Awaken my love, or To Pimp a Butterfly I consider the album near masterpiece level.
I’m personally hyped for it, I believe in chance. Acid Rap was my introduction to a whole world of rap that still heavily influences the kinds of songs and artists that I’m drawn to today, and it’s kind of sad just how long Chance hasn’t been a part of that. If he can pull it off, I’ll be jammin to it for sure!
