As they say if you have a coloured frame black only and if you have a silver any coloured grip! Its the first I've heard of this but went on the mtb forums last night and was getting told basically they have to be black but i want grey on my blue and grey frame they said its a noob thing having coloured grips they need to match the forks

I find the 2x10 drivetrain much better.
