- It's time for another bike build and we got our hands on a Nukeproof Scout frame in Kraken Blue this time!
We wanted to see if you can build a killer hardtail but still keep it affordable so we looked to see what deals we could get and found some amazing components!

Pink
Blue
Love the bike and colors
grey would sick bc they wouldnt be too out there
Black
Superb! I have been hankering for a Scout. I'm currently on a GT Avalanche hardtail with 26" wheels. I'd like to move to 27.5". Also looking at the Reactor. The blue pedals look great!
Both are great! We love the blue pedals too! 💙
Looks awesome! That would be my dream build pretty much! I prefer hardtail, I have the same horizon blue clipless pedal on my gravel bike, starting a Hardtail build next couple of months :)
last september I bought a used bike from classifieds that was 2022 year model, had a document showing it was bought brand new less than 4 months earlier, still has warranty, was ridden very little, looks and feels brand new, it came with a garmin 830 full bundle bought same day as the bike, still in box new shimano pedals, new abus (meh) helmet and abus bike lock, and I paid for it 580 euro. then I turned around and sold the garmin for 350, and now I have a bike that only cost me 230 euro, that originally cost 1000 euro at the store, 77% discount baby, doesnt get more affordable than that. the bike is aluminum size large XC hardtail with 29' wheels 2x11 shimano transmision with clutch, rockshox fork, shimano hydraulic disc brakes
Awesome looking Hardtail! I myself have been riding mtn bikes for 32 yrs and 3 yrs ago went back to a Hardtail (27.5+), love it.
That is the ht I want to come home to. Can you list the parts specially the fox 36 fork. Thank you in advance
The thing looks mint plain and simple and the all blue really goes loving the fact that its a hardtail my choice if bike same as my current bike 👌🏼
Stunning bike. My current is a hardtail sonder transmitter built from frame agressive love it. Also have a scott genius full sus. Loving the videos
I like blue pedals with this frame ; they also match the color of the fork's decal ; very nice !
Damn I love this video, everything goes together so smoothly! It's like these guys didn't even use parts from Chainreactioncycles, otherwise the video would be at least 2 months long.....the majority of the video would be spent receiving incorrect items, emailing the non-existent customer service and zero time riding!
😂 Savage!
Hardtail for me, love this build!
That looks really nice in the blue. Just ordered a new big al after cracking my titanium hardtail. Back on the Ragley piglet 2 til the big al arrives. Fun on the 26 tho
I’m riding a 27.5 HardTail still! 😎 120/130mm of Fork Travel
Nice!
🔥
Looks awesome and fantástic
Nice build. I’m in a hardtail right now but you folks are shipping me a Nukeproof Reactor which should be delivered today.
Enjoy! 🔥
So what was the final cost to build this?
3k I reckon.
@@dandraw5206 lmao, affordable my ass
Dirt cheap now mate
I just did a scout for £1017 and arguably a much better setup than this
@littledevilchris666 u by any chance get the stout limited edition frame cuz I did hahah
Affordability depends on who can afford so, how affordable it is?
awesome HT 🤘
for me,pedal and fox decal should chrome is more sweet for this bike .it matches with that nukeproof chrome decal.
what the fox travel?
got two hardcore hardtails, ragley bluepig and an on one hellodave, 60 HTA with 170mm up front on the dave, 140 on the bluepig love em, the dave is more of a freeride/park build and the ragley a bit more of the dirt jumper
Nice workshop 👊🏻
Ready for the rockies and the fun
Lovely build
I ride a Marin bobcat Hardtail. It’s great. Love your bike.
blue pedals look great. it's not too much blue because the frame is blue. i'm riding a Ti Hardtail with 160mm travel fork at 65° head angle. rad.
Currently riding a ragley marley hardtail, with a 160mm rockshox yari ( yes i know its not specced for this but ots my bike 🖕)
Sold my spesh fullsus to go full hardtail as uk trailcenters are where i ride mostly, so lots of pedalling 😅 hardtails can pedal anywhere 🤟
I got similar hardtail, full costum bilt part bay part, very strong bike ,
That's beautiful
Absolutely love it! Honestly my dream bike, currently ride a Vitus Nucleus VR 27.5 as I couldn't afford the Scout. Hard tails for the win every time! The blue pedals match the Blue on the Fox 36's perfectly.
We actually love the blue pedals 💙
Currently riding a scout comp v3, bullet grey. The blue horizon pedals suit that colour, I would have done the same. 👊🏻
That is absolutely beautiful! So much want! I'm currently riding a 2021 NukeProof Scout (race) that is a little too small for me in a large frame. It was a bucket list bike for me, and hard to find here in the US, so when I found one for sale used about 200 miles away that I could barely stretch the budget for, I had no choice but to buy it. I'm hoping to one day be able to budget a 2023 XL frame in Kraken Blue and swap everything over. Then the 2021 frame will be going up on the wall in the house to admire while I'm stuck inside! :)
Can I ask your height/inseam measurement? I’m 6’1”/33” inseam and not sure which size to get.
How much travel ??
Would like to see a Carbon Scout with clean cable routing
Blue decals and pedals are a bit much en takes away attention from the awesome frame imo.
Pretty neat build though!
Currently riding a piglet and a mmmbop, so hardtailing rules 🤙🏻
love it and ❤ for your efforts
no it's not too much blue it's perfect
I ride only hardtails since 1990 and will die riding on one, currently love my Stache 😂
Damn so badass build. I wish I could own 1
I’m ready a sentier vr and it’s the best bike I’ve ever had
That is sweet wish I had that there, I’m on a vitus nucleus vr as I’m 16 and don’t have a tonne of money
Tbh, i would go with the black pedals. This is to much blue. My current bike is a NP Scout 290 XL, 140mm RS Pike Ultimate - rides awsome. It is a very good bike and the best HT I ever rode.
Great looking bike. Rode hard tails for 30 plus years they keep you from going nuts and hurting yourself. To many people are over biked riding full suspension if you ask me. Like taking a Lamborghini to the store for milk. Oh yea I only ride clipless pedals Im one of those old dudes.
Nice bike
IMO a Sram drivetrain should be paired with a Rockshox fork and a Fox fork should be matched with a Shimano drivetrain.
What is the total build cost of this bike please?
Nukeproof Scout 290 Comp.
rocky mountain growler best
this looks like vitus santier or vitus nucleus
Hardtail is all we could effort
affordable? should've gone with the shimano deore, nx and down you have to keep calibrating and tuning it constantly.
Needs black pedals
I purchased a Ragley BluePigRace at the end of March, and its already got another £150 knocked off the price....I should of waited a bit longer...Ha ! But £1350 Now is defo the BARGAIN of the year...No better bike out there for the money,or anything close...Ha !
Sheesh 🔥
Where can I buy this frame ? Is there shipping for Europe ...?
I was I had a good hardtail but I'm to poor
Hardtails are the best i still have my first hardtail but i put a rigid fork and racks for bikepacking. I have a new hardtail now a Bianchi i love it.
Affordable but forks are 500 quid
Fox 36. Horizon wheelset. Looks nothing affordable to me.......😓
I like the scout but this build isn't for me.
💙💙💙
Considering a bike affordable, while it's equipped with Fox Kashima, is a bit controversial for me.
What was the cost tho 😂
Blue is good, black is black.
These are never in stock
You say 'affordable'...How Affordable !!
You need a better job if you think this is expensive in 2023 😂
such bullshit they used that in the title and then give zero info on how much it costs.
Fix your website
Not very affordable after all
Lol” affordable”
