5:10 are an awesome shoe as with all things MTB expensive but the build quality and feel is superb. Let’s hope they last a long time👍

anybody else having problems with GTX getting wet inside at the top of the feet under der highest point of the laces? And that's WITH rain paints on which covers up to the ankle. I have this problem on both shoes and it doesn't even need heavy rain, a normal 15min ride in a autumn rain is enough ._.

I often wonder if people realise that there’s many different shapes of feet. The weird narrow last which adidas use is no good for me, I can’t get a correct fit as have to go up sizes and the shoes are then too long, so boxier wider option in leatt is intriguing.
I’ve found some 510 models to be completely different shapes to others in their range.
As for adidas destroying the build quality since taking over 510
. It’s been 12 years.

With my wintersocks and summer sneakers I neither get wet feet when stepping in a puddle.

Was literally just looking into a new pair of 510’s when this notification popped up, I’ll give it 10mins before I put the trigger I think.

After about 3/4 minutes I was still going for the 510’s and by the end it was imo the obvious choice

Yeah but then the inside of your boot is still soaked and will stink

1:06 in...just gonna have to stop you there.
the top of the shoe is too short and doesn't seal at the top, the trouser cuff has no lace catch to keep them in place but that doesn't mater because there is nothing on the shoe to catch....the moment you move your sock will be exposed and it will soaked before you're even out of the carpark. might as well just wear crocks ....why the f#$%* cant any bike company get it right...they don't even have to invent anything just simply take it from xc-skiing/mountaineering , warm dry and a trouser/shoe system that works together, Ive been running full waterproof mountaineering trousers and a light duty gortex over the ankle boot for winter riding for years, 4-5 times a week in wet cold Innerleithen, I always come home happy and dry.

The 510 GTX are not waterproof. I have to use mine with sealskins and theyve been like that from day one. A friend recently bought these Leatt and they are far and away the better option. Will be getting a pair myself shortly. For anyone looking at the 510 GTX, dont be fooled by the reviews saying theyre properly waterproof.

My pair of FiveTen GTX Trailcross shoes seem to be waterproof. I've ridden in torrential rain and stood in puddles and my socks have always been dry at the end of the those rides.

    • @stuartmoseley

Mine are definitely water proof. Feet never get wet, usually hose off my feet at the same time as my bike and they stay dry!
As mentioned in the video, must have a trouser that fits over the ankle top other wise all water is going to run in around the leg!

      @mikeyfafa Pƙed rokem +1

Mine are too. Stood in puddles no problem. At the of a ride I put the hose on them whilst they’re still on my feet to wash the mud off. Feet stay nice and dry.

  • @YiZongOng

Let's be honest, FiveTen died when Adidas took over. Quality diminished and production turned shit. It's only a matter of time before consumers see the diminished quality. It's already happening with the climbing shoes that FiveTen do.
