    Thank you, a great video. I just ordered one pair of Free Rider Pros, and two pairs of Free Riders different colors, all from REI. I’ll pick one that I like out of the three take the other two back. Then I will take my favorite one to my local bike shop and compare it to the Ride Concepts Vice Model, then make my final choice. Again, thank you for your insights.

    Thanks for the down to earth review man, I’m just getting started with MTB and was looking for an all around shoe to start with for going on simple beginners trails not very technical nor doing any jumps or stunts for that matter and this review really helped. One quick question though, what made you choose the Low Tops versus the XT or high top Trailcross?

    I tried Five Ten Trail Cross Mid Pro, they did not feel as breathable as Freerider, those were super breathable but not tried Freerider Pro.
    I did not know the Trailcross LT were see trough and let that dirt in, the Mid Pro did not, but I had to return mine as they were faulty the seams at the loop at the gaiter rubbed my skin off. So got a refund.
    I hoped they were going to be as breathable, but LT sounds like a a shoe for summer use. Did they change the shoes to be more breathable or is the LT just more breathable?
    The sole was definitely great to walk in, while being supportive.

    I don’t wanna feel my pedals ; in fact after riding my feet hurt like hell !
    To clarify : Giant Talon 29/1 , Pedaling Innovations flat pedals , 5.10 Prime Blu canvas with stealth. I ride rail trails only - 2 to 8 hours at a time.
    I’d love it if my feet didn’t hurt so much afterwards. I’m thinking about the Free Rider Pros . The stiff sole sounds fantastic !
    Are they true to size ?
    I wear a 10 wide . Should I go with 10 or 10.5 ?

    So the trailcross is a compromise with riding and running? They look nice but i feel like its not the best of anyworld. Plus I've heard that the rubber isn't that sticky

    • @toryridesbikes9123
      @toryridesbikes9123  Před 3 lety

      I believe that’s where its design came from. It’s not heavily marketed as a trail running shoe. They’re my favorite riding shoe currently, and the rubber is insanely sticky.

    I’ve ridden them both and agree with most of your assessment, however I would warn that the TrailCross definitely doesn’t run true to size. It’s about 1/2 to 1 size bigger than the Freerider Pro. Both great shoes!

    • @toryridesbikes9123
      @toryridesbikes9123  Před 3 lety

    These are the worst shoes fiveten made. Lood at the big gap inside the show. All the dirt and tinny gravel goes inside. Every 15min I have to stop and remove rocks from the shoes. I’m so disappointed about them. I don’t know why Addidas did that. I have no issues compared to Impact Pro, except they are bulky.
