I have those shoes. Agree on all points made, as to their best uses. Also, have a med/narrow foot w/ very high arches. One thing I did to help with the fit, was insert some Specialized +++ high arch insoles. Really tightened the shoes up nice, fit much better and have great support. If I had it to do all over again... I would have bought a half size down.
How’s the toe protection on these? I’ve stubbed my toes on rocks and roots a couple of times and luckily my old school freeriders provided decent toe protection.
It’s pretty rigid right at the tip and rolling over just on to your toenails and then there’s zero protection on the whole top so the bottom is good and rigid the very tip of the toe is fine but the whole upper part of your foot from the toenails up is vulnerable
@@chasefam3 We’ll see.. I’ve been riding on Free rider pros since the fall and I think they’re just awesome! Took a short time to break them in but now I where them as a casual shoe as well
Those birds are like bew bew bew. Still a good review...my problem was that it alittle narrow at the toe for how wide my foot sits it's a solid shoe if it fits right.
Where does the flexibleness of the sole start in these shoes? I ride with the ball of my foot over the center of the pedals, so I feel like the flexiness starts too far back.

These are great shoes. I bought them a month ago and they stick to my pedals.

Curious if you sent them back and ordered the high tops? If so, are you going to do a review on them?
I had sent them back I never ordered a high tops because they were out of stock but now they have the mid tops I was thinking about getting those

Definitely not. I use them for caving, canyoneering and coasteering.
