- NEW BIKE DAY and this time it's one of the best value mountain bikes I have ever bought. How the bike rides, the components on it, combined with the overall value of the bike - I actually can't believe it only costs £500!

Let us know - Hardtail or Full Suspension? What are you riding?
(Also while you're there - let us know what you think about this bike 👀)
It's the Vitus Nucleus 27.5 hardtail great bike for the money and just put maxxis minions front and rear and it's amazing now.
Does it come with a dropper post because on chain reaction it does have it on
I've got a '19 VRS 29 and have replaced pretty much everything on it to suit my riding style. 140mm Bomber Z2, 1x11 XT/SLX drivetrain, SLX/Zee 180mm brakes, OneUp dropper, better tires, Rimpact inserts, new headset.. it's definitely worth the upgrades. It handles all the crazy black and double black trails, I even race my local enduros with it!
Just ordered one at a massive discount from you guys. Cant wait!
I’ve recently purchased the VR Nucleus 26 for my 10 yr old son. A birthday present to hopefully get him interested in mountain biking. It’s an awesome bike which I purchased and fitted a dropper post and dmr pedals. This was closer to £650 with the upgrades(still a bargain though) therefore this at £500 all in is a real steal. Honestly a cracker of a bike and my son loves his 👍
I've got a 2021 27 VR and I love it! I installed a One Up dropper, a Manitou Mattoc Comp with 140 mm travel, and I'm waiting for new tubeless tires. I've also got Ergon GA2 grips and Race Face Chester pedals. Ride all kinds of trails on it including a downhill bike park!
How does it ride?
@Corey Beck I think it rides great! Compared to some other bikes I've ridden, I like how it corners, how it descends, and how it jumps. I'm not much of a climber, so I don't have much feedback on that other than it gets me to the top haha. I also like how it feels on flatter undulating traversey sections. I do want to get a better drivetrain with a little more range, but the Box 4 works well. Some people complain about it having open dropouts instead of through axle, but I haven't had any issues with it. Finally, I weigh 260 lb, and I feel like the brakes need a bit more power for me, so I'm gonna upgrade to a 203 mm rotor at the front and a 180 mm at the rear. However, I've been riding with the stock brakes for about 2 years, and they've held up well. I personally think it's a great bike that's very well suited for trail riding and can do some park riding!
I saw complaints about the drive train and I am sure this didnt come with dropper originally. I had a vrs red version. Not quite the Sentier love but I mark it slightly better than most if not all equivalents, except for the drive train.
I have a VRS, the red one so a 2021 I think. That was about 500 in the sale too. It is far more capable than I am.
Personally a fan of the look of that wheelset on there
Looks pretty sick Matt❤
Pretty impressed dude! How are you? (Matt)
@@chainreactioncycles Doing good my man have a great weekend.
I think the silver spokes are alright, black spokes are more expensive than silver (same goes for spoke nipples, black being almost double the price) those look like 32 spoke wheels , so 64 black spokes would bump the build price up considerably.
I’ve a 21 vrs 275 and yes changed grips to softer one can’t remember make, went to my local bike shop set up forks properly (£10) added dropper, and you’ll hate this sks mud rocker f and r, now have a excellent bike that’ll I’ll keep for years excellent value and overall quality oh the rear set seems fine for my style riding. Where do you stop
Wow this video is amazing! CRC you really have hit the nail on the head with your new marketing strategy. Just sweep the terrible service under the rug and all is grand!
Hey Baden - can you drop us a DM please with your issues and we’ll pass it on to our Customer Support team 👍🏻
@@chainreactioncycles I certainly could contact your customer support, but I most certainly will not waste my time doing it. CRC's latest excuse is to blame everything on their new website. For 18 years I have been purchasing from CRC, like everyone else I was happy to be sent discounted items that are not in retail packaging. The tipping point has been when items are thrown in an oversized box with no protection whatsoever and sent with what I assume is the cheapest possible courier/post available(Evri) and see if it actually arrives in good condition or even arrive at all.
I really hope you guys can turn your service around, but I'm afraid it's heading in the wrong direction.
Kind Regards
fireman sam has had a sudden change of career
i have a 2022 nucleus vr 29er and l love it the only regret i have is that i overpaid a lot for it and it didn't come on a bundle like this one and didn't have a dropper post
I don't know anything about bikes but just ordered one brand new without that fancy seat for £270 delivered so feeling pretty smug so thanks for the review
Same, my mate who is a bike nut told me about it. He said the one with the Fox front fork was better but for what I’ll be doing the sun tour forks will be more then enough. For £270 it’s an absolute steal. Happy riding.
Hello long shot for a reply but I have a 2020 vitus sommet and I was wondering what the two bolts were for on the seat tube thanks
Got this bike a few months ago and for the money it's a brilliant bike just upgrade too a dropper and it's all good too go. Don't even use the full sus hardly ever now just riding the hardtail all the time now. 👍
That is awesome!!! 👏🏻
What the heck was with that sneaky cut in the video when you put the dropper up???
Wish I could get this bike in Canada. $500 Canadian but shipping and duty put it up to $1000. 😞
Looks confortable
Thing is awesome and it comes with a dropper post
The one I received 27 inch vrs didn't come with a dropper seat post. I guess they removed that from the spec, or the higher price bracket version comes with a downgraded seat post lol
🤔its a great bike for the money, probally the best you can get for the price bracket, the geometry needs tweeking for sure, but a great starter hardtail👌
Great point Steve! For someone looking a starter hardtail or looking to start mountain biking, this is an absolute steal!! 👏🏻
@@chainreactioncycles 👌100%👍
How tall are you did you find the XL geometry ok reach wise? I'm 6'2 and not sure if I'm on an L or XL as I'm in-between sizes but the Ls reach is quite short. Cheers
Hi, Matt rides an XL and is 6'5".
I'm (the editor) 6'2" and ride an L.
I hope this helps!
@@chainreactioncycles Awesome that helps a lot! Thanks for replying appreciate it!
Too bad they discounted the Nucleus. Great deal in the UK, but not such a great deal in North America. Very cool bike though.
I don’t know why but I prefer silver more than black spokes
I would like to ask, what is the name of of the group set?
crap components is the name of that set
Why is the price in eur 950
It is on salen wanted to buy it last sommar but I bought just littel bit cheaper bike. If I have known that it is going to be on sale I would have waited.
What is max weight?
Would be very good more those incredíble
What size is the bike shown in the video
XL
My friend put this bike together for his son and before I knew it he was done czcams.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L When the son came to put it together he was surprised to see it was already done. All he had to do was take the bike to get air and be on his way. My friend did not have any major problems putting this bike together; small issue was putting one of the brakes on straight; however when the son got home he was able to fix it. The bike rides well gears move correctly; good bike for the price. Wrote review after the son took the bike. Sorry.
1000+ euros if you live outside uk seams damn bad deal 😢
It’s £400 now 🎉
Just bought it for that, bargain
Silver spokes mean stainless. Stainless is good.
It's 600 pounds?
Here's the link rwdturbo - This VR bundle is £500 (£499.99 really - but we'll ignore the penny)
www.chainreactioncycles.com/vitus-nucleus-27-vr-dropper-and-pedals-bundle-2022/rp-prod214321
A lot of bike for the money... but that fork looks soooo painful! I'd happily pay an extra £50 for a Roxshock silver or something 🙈🙈
I just bought the Nucleus VRW for my missus, I expected the fork to perform WAY below what it does. It obviously lacks a premium feel but soaks up bumps impressively well, more than what she needs for now. With the frame being tapered there's all the scope needed for a big upgrade when she outgrows it.
No way you called Ardents good tyres
So £399.99 for the Virus Nucleus 27 VRW (38% off)
But also
€764.99 for the Vitus Nucleus 27 VRW (15% off) trying to but it a tad over 50 miles south of Belfast.
Come on!
Was this sponsored it feels sponsored?
Not exactly... CRC literally owns Vitus haha. (If you're not aware, they also own Nukeproof, and CRC and Wiggle merged in 2016 and are effectively the same company now.)
For a Monkey, can't be bad...Bargain !!!
I wouldn't take suntour forks for free, they are trash
The XCR32 isn't that bad for a bike this price. It's very reliable, and much better than any of the lower end Suntour coil forks. Definitely not as good as the Bomber Z2 I replaced it with however. Their higher end forks are nothing to scoff at though, they hold their own against other name brand forks.
if i order the bike today does it still come with the nuke proof pedals?
I will DM you guys in instagram I will Show you what $500-$600 in Asia looks like
