I'm not sure who that was on the podium. A lot of Gravel on this route was fresh and THICCCC.

Yea the first year I did it the heat was intense. I think moving it to May was a good call.

Agree! I've nearly pooped myself a few times while on rides. Luckily gravel roads are remote and I can typically find a place to go.

I did end up finding a couple other deals on the Jenson site that's definitely got me interested: the Rocky Mountain Solo 30 for $1019 and the Solo 50 carbon for $2089, both steeply discounted at 40 and 45% off. Both are 2023 models on close-out but the Solo 30 at least appears to be a fresh redesign on the frame. Only downside is it's got mechanical disc brakes but it's an 11 speed Apex 1 spec, which after looking around a bit seems to be a lot better spec than anything else I've seen at that price range. Didn't know Jenson existed until after watching your vid so thank you for informing me about them. Been a little hard to find good online direct deals after Wiggle/Chain Reaction quit shipping to the states. Cheers.

This video is the kind that Trek and their dealers want to see. People having a good experience with the product. I took a less subjective approach and went deep into exactly how it performs in a number of common on-road scenarios.

I actually watched the whole gplama video yesterday. All 37 minutes. Such a good video! My hat goes off to gplama for the effort he put in to that video. That had to be a ton of work. But I was completely honest with my review. I made this video before watching the gplama video, but after watching the gplama video, I think I know why I was getting some of the results I was getting. We were riding on back roads where the cars were not moving as fast, and it DID seem to detect those vehicles sooner. But the times were not consistent. Sometimes, 1 second sooner, sometimes a bit more. The time we were side by side on the busy road, the detection was a tie. The battery life DOES seem to be very good on this light, and I like that you can see how much battery is remaining. I am not an expert tech reviewer. I'm just a cyclist who likes riding bikes and tries to make fun videos. This light has worked great for me, but I've only used it twice now. The Garmin is also a great light. I used it for about two years. I was honest with what I said, though, but I did not go nearly as in depth as gplama. Cheers!

Absolutely. Someone else commented about wimd noise and I completely agree. Sometimes, the cars just sneak up on you. I have used a radar light for about two years now, and I simply will not ride without one. I've got two long rides on this one, and so far, I love it.

Yes, 100% It's nice to be able to look back and make sure the car sees you. This is more challenging on rides with more traffic, but still nice to know they're back there.

No, I haven't, but I actually did a big group ride the other day, and I saw a lot of ppl using them.

Thanks bro! And yes, I actually do have a pump, but it's the kind that like screws on to the valve and takes a bit more time than a Co2. I had another Co2 ready but just didn't want to stop. It really didn't get super flat the 2nd time till we hit pavement. I always cary a pump on the bike. Co2 may fail, but a pump will not.

Haha! Yea, it's all good. Really didn't take too long or have much of an impact on my finish or time. That's kinda the way it goes in the Flint Hills. Punctures just happen. Yes! Emporia is special. I go there so often for these different races that I've gotten kind of familiar with it. It's a fine little town!

I'm glad that's the case! When we checked with the bike shops in Moab, they said many of the popular trails didn't allow them. The MTB project app says the same thing.

They were fast and felt great, but after busting the second spoke, I sold them.

Thanks, Richard! It's all good. Plugging a tire is better than putting a tube in. If I would have had the same issue with a tube, it would have taken WAY longer.

I don't know anything about that bike. I looked it up, and it is a good looking bike. Other than that, I can't comment.

I have a YT and like it. I really like the look of the YT too. I'd say you can't go wrong with either though.
