    Gravel bikes are here to stay and with 2024 right around the corner, I figured I would take a closer look at some of the new ones on the market. Let me know what you think of these bikes and if there are any I missed!

    I would recommend the Ventum GS1 or the Lauf Seigla.

    Ty, You are naming some solid bikes here. Not familiar with the Vitus, but the others are getting some good press. I think you are missing an obvious one here, though, and I speak from experience as I just built one up. The 2024 Giant Revolt Advanced Pro is an absolute ripper and a divine ride. I built mine with 1x Sram Force AXS and it is easily the favorite bike in my stable after only 200+ miles of riding. I spec'd it with Zipp Firecrest 303's and a Zipp Cockpit, so I admit it is not stock. Even stock, though, Giant offers really good bang for the buck. Just my humble opinion here so take it for what it's worth.

      Hell yea! They are awesome bikes. I actually have a buddy who has a high end revolt and he let me ride it once. The thing rides like a freakin dream. I just looked up the Giant Reavolt Advanced pro. You are right. I missed this one. Didn't realize Giant put out this new bike. Thing looks awesome!

    Looking forward to the 2024 season. Ty, what are your plans - what race is going to be the focus and what are you doing for training , nutrition, and gear in 2024 based on what you learned in 2023? My races are early in the year - Dirty South Roubaix March 2 and St. Genevieve Gravel Classic in April.

      Very good! I will see you in Ste. Gen! I don't have any real goals. Just want to have fun traveling and riding my bike. I think I hit around 10 or 11 gravel races this year. Plan on to do about that much again next year. I want to continue to mountain bike as much as possible too.

    I loved my original cervelo that when they placed the frameset on sale for the aspero 5 lime shimmer i pulled the triggered built it up with shimano grx di2 2x roval terra clx its still my favorite bike

    So, Ty, I did stop by Elite Cycling the other day. I didn’t meet Dale (Dell? DEL?!), but I think the guy in the back room was Michael and he was super helpful as far as adjustments I would have to make if I were to buy the bike. In any case, they had an Aspero in my size in stock, and I think I am kind of falling in love with it, to the point of losing sleep L O L. It just felt like the right type of bike for what I am looking for in a gravel bike-. Speed. . I am still torn here. In any case, a practical question for you. In your opinion, what’s better, get a new Cervelo Aspero bike altogether- which has pretty good discounts at the moment- or try to convert my 2019 endurance/ road bike into a gravel bike? My sense is with all the modifications (wheels, tires, cassette, shorter stem), the cost would be about 40% of the new Aspero price. I understand everybody’s different, but what would you do?

      Michael is awesome. If you think you are going to venture off onto some gravel roads, I'd get the Aspero, especially if you want to go fast. It's really a great all road bike. Now, if you think you'll eventually want to put bags on it and do some light touring, this is not the bike you want. But to go fast on any surface, this is a great one.

      @@TysRides well, it’s totally a cost saving issue. Whether to invest in a brand new bike with a good discount now versus spending hundreds, perhaps up to $1000 to convert an older bike into something that it’s not. And not knowing whether the result will be acceptable to get by, or I would have to go for a new bike in the end anyway

    Ty, great overview! We’ve recently talked about the Grail vs Grizzl dilemma, and I have been roaming around your channel ever since. So, here’s the complicating thing. I watched your story of getting the Aspero, and then I have to say, I am almost sold on it myself!… except that now I am torn between the Grail and the Aspero. I guess, my question is two-part: 1. Have you ever had a chance to ride the Grail? And 2) if you had to choose between the two, why NOT the Grail (i.e., do you see any red flags with the newGrail bike?). But I have to say, overall. The Cervelo discounts now make it very hard to resist….

      I would have considered a Grail if the new generation 2 ones were around when I bought the Aspero. The chainstay length is a bit longer on the Grail. It is considered a gravel race bike, but I'd say the geometry is probably a bit more relaxed compared to the Cervelo. The Cervelo has pretty aggressive geometry. I have not ridden a Grail. The geometry of the Cervelo is more like a road race bike with wide clearance if that makes sense.

      @@TysRides awesome. It’s good to know there are a couple of viable alternative for a gravel bike. That is fast AF. Another thing is, what’s your take on GRX 600 vs 800? How big would Mike Gaines be with the higher level group set? Currently the GRX 600 Aspero he’s selling for just under $2500 (which I personally think is a deal that one should pass on), what is the 800 version goes for $3300, and I don’t know if this type of upgrade is worth spending an extra $700 honestly

      @akmola1 I have the GRX Aspero 600. It's awesome. I did upgrade the front chainrings to 800 but only because they are bigger. GRX 600 is like the equal to Shimano 105 so it's good.

      @@TysRides Man this bike really checks so many boxes for me… I will really have to think long and hard about the choice between the Grail or the awesome Aspero Apex 1 (I am actually into 1x, which would even be more attractive deal than the Grail), or simply put some 35c Panaracer GK tires on my all carbon endurance bike, which is a great bike, but it has been sitting on a trainer for the last three years because there’s nowhere to use it here in Emporia. I think I’m also going to drop by the Elite Cycling store and talk to the guys about their opinion

    great video and selection of bikes, but VITUS is pronounced vee-tus, I don't know why, by American Englinsh convention is should be as you pronounced it. That company had a prominent place in the racing community in the 90s with their iconic lugged aluminum bikes , the 979 was raced by some famous pros in the TDF and I owned one in the 90s, super light for their time but flexy when new and more flexy over time. Cannondale and Klien probably seemed to take over high end aluminum with their oversized tubing approach. I have my eye on the new grail but the Vitus is a crazxy value at their price points.

      Yes! Thank you for this feedback. That's why I asked to let me know how this stuff is actually spelled because sometimes I'm not exactly sure lol. That's a pretty cool story, you owning that old Vitus. Cannondale aluminum is awesome. I've got a 2013 Caad 10 and I absolutely love that bike.

      I've heard they are made to dampen vibrations and chatter. Apparently they do what they are supposed to, I just never liked how they look.

    Nice compilation 🎉 qq 1. Can i convert my 2020 spec roubaix to a gravel bike with just wider tires ? :) 2) orbea the only brand offering color customization !,

      It looks like the max tire that bike will fit is 33c. That would be fine on some smoother gravel. I think on this list that is only bike with color customization. There are a few other brands that offer customization. I know you can fully customize bikes at Trek but it's pricey. Obed has some customization options on their site.

    Can we even get a Merida bike in the US? I thought they had a deal with Specialized that they couldn’t sell in the US

      Currently, I don't think they are available in US. I almost left them off the list, but because they completely changed this bike for 2024 and it is a bigger international brand, I included them. I guess I should have mentioned that in the video...

      @stevekelly6544 yea, I agree. They are really big everywhere but US, and I guess that is the reason. I started reading about this new bike, and it seemed sweet, so I wanted to talk about it. I love the paint jobs too. Honestly, I've included the same old brands in so many other videos that I wanted to mix it up with some different ones. The channel gets some views from ppl from other countries, so maybe it will help someone outside the US who is looking for a new bike.

      Merida owns 49% of Specialized, so it is more about market placement.

    Who woulda thought road bikes with knobby tires and attachment points are the sexiest bikes these days? Tarmacs and Emondas are boring now! 😂😂

      Haha! There are still some pretty sexy road bikes out there, but in my opinion, the bikes on this list are damn fine.
