By moving the pinion in, do you mean, move towards the center line of the ring gear?
Just ordered a set for the 37s on my 4Runner, and I’ll probably get another set for my Tj. Glad to see you’re still uploading!
Wow. Another great idea. Hoping to buy a Jana 54 kit here soon. Take care of yourself Mr. Jantz. For all our sakes.
I absolutely love these on my TJ, have had them for a few years now, they work great! zero leaks, all smiles :). They are so simple, and don't require any tools to use or lose, I really think these are a vastly overlooked item in the sea of aftermarket parts.
We need some super jeep videos
Carl your videos helped me rebuild my first diff years ago, I apply the knowledge you’ve posted on CZcams everyday for work. I’ve rebuilt hundreds of diffs and have accomplished a lot….also created some pretty wild stuff as well, thanks.
Здравствуйте, Карл! Рад видеть Вас в бодром здравии! Постоянно пересматриваю фильм,, Аляска, войны по бездорожью,, с вашим участием, удачи Вам! 😊
You should put a link to purchase in the description! :)
Pretty slick product. Pulling valve stems is faster and free so I'm gonna have to continue with that method for now lol
Carl did you ever resolve the problems you were having with fuel cavitation on Super Jeep a couple years back?
yes I did, I put a small 1/2 gallon tank fed by a higher volume low pressure pump than the high pressure pump, and the big key was to put 6 psi valve in the return line from the 1/2 gal tank back to the main tank, that way there was always pressure feeding the high pressure pump. when I did the clear hose cavitation vid, the low pressure pump fed only half the volume of the high pressure pump, duh, it was starving thus cavitating. Have had no issues in a year with it. I also had to put a 1 1/2 gallon expansion tank, ( like a radiator over flow tank) on the vent line of the main 43 gallon tank, as it was build to fill to the top, thus when warming up there was just no room for fuel expansion, which was causing back flooding through the vent lines to the intake, ackk. I guess I need to do a vid on how I solved all my fuel issues.
Super jeep. 👍
I got mine! Use 'em on my 38s. Thanks Carl.
Glad to see your doing well
The man, the myth, the legend. Hats off gentleman. We salute you sir.
A Carl Jantz video!? Did we hit the lottery or somethin? I have a set of these. Just follow directions and I get better every time Im never off by enough to make a difference. You're my hero Mr. Jantz. Just keep doing what you do.
These work awesome. They also flow more air when filling. Simple and effective
thats initative that only a trump man would have! thanks for sharing
Worth noting that the set-up process varies between older style milled 5-cut gears and the newer hobbed 2-cut variety. Very very important to know which you have because the patterns read differently.
Super cool stuff goin on. I know why you're not more popular, and I hate it. If anyone doesn't know it's the same reason MTV is no longer music and the history channel isn't actually history.
When you get the gear set that is hard to get both sides matching , always get the drive side right. The coast is reverse and not under high loads. The pattern that is ideal splashes the oil out away as the tooth comes in. This vid nails ut
God Bless America ! ❤❤🤍🤍💙💙
When someone understands a subject so completely they can often explain it in the simplist of terms. Well done!
Skf is better than timkin they are both very good
This is the kind of thing I LOVE about machining. You don't need a multi thousands of dollars investment or specialized tooling. Just make your own, make it work for the few things you do and keep it simple. Great idea!
Did you know GSP wheel bearings use timken bearings?
I recall there was somebody running one of your load bolts in an offroad/mud competition somewhere that you told me about. Was a buggy of some kind -- any chance you still remember what that video was?

I guess it is involute spline in that gear. You cut 90 deg. How do you think about that.
When you look at the difference between an involute curve and a straight line its only .001” on typical axle splines. That works for 90 and 60 degree pressure angles.
YOU UNDERSTAND THAT GUYS HAND SINGS / WTF , IS HE TRYING TO SAY / I HOPE HE WATCHES THIS VIDEO AND SEE'S HOW SCREWED UP HE IS
I don't often comment on videos but what you've come up with here is brilliant. Thumbs up and a subscribe.
Excellent video .. by far the best explanation I have seen
Great video, just found your channel. My father was a tool & Die maker from the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s. I inherited his lathe and purchased a mill about ten years ago. I was alway under the impression that axles were all hardened after splines were cut, is that not the case?
That is how it is done in the OEM world but aftermarket you are often shortening an existing axle or using a pre hardened blank.
Watched you on Amazon prime. Great stuff. Hope you are still friends with your co pilot
Excellent! thanks!
Brilliant
What kind of measurements did you come up with for 3/4" bead width? Would you sell any inserts?
Awesome 🤩. Thanks
Would this be the same for a detroit locker. I would assume it all varies but im looking at running dana 50 gears in a 44 with a detroit locker.
you bet.call or text me 425-327-0804
That was a really cool and informative video man. Thanks
Trap Pass is awesome in so many ways.
Thanks very interesting
Best explanation I’ve found. Thx
Good job! It makes me want to fire up the mill.
You already built a 5 lug full float Dana 60. It's in my Willys wagon.
Moving and smooth
That's some fast splining right there
Nice fix that should hold up well. Just gave me some ideas to do the custom transfer case clutch gear. I think that I could use a side gear like that for the internal splines.
Finally!! You nailed it! I now know that my backlash isn't good but my pinion depth is good! Awesome simple video! Thanks!
Your welcome
Dude. This has been the most comprehensive view of how it works. I’ve been fighting with mine for a week now working on it an hour or two a day cussing. I have finally gotten it where it needs to be. You are a saint
