I use a spider gear to index mine simple process and their right on the money absolutely every single time and I also bought a micrometer that made for measuring the depth on the spline and it probably takes me less than 20 minutes to produce a brand-new axle splined correctly
Jw shop time. Awsome talking with you ❤ at the swap meet 😀 I've always enjoyed seeing the super jeeps evolution. If you can give my goofy channel a comment home of the walljeep thanks again Carl for sharing your krafty ideas is that a saw blade behind the magic. Jw shop time
I've really enjoyed the shows since I first found you on the Alaska race but the part about the youtube is seeing how you do these things, not that they can be done. Because there are many ways to do this. This one though kinda let me down with the not so magic wall. The transparency up to this point has been an awesome learning experience. I hope it will return in the future.
How is the fixture that holds the shaft indexing the rotations? It doesn't look like it's on a splined region of the shaft but the operator is able to effortlessly spin the shaft by 1-spline with the clamp loose. How does that work?
He may have hinted at what’s behind the curtain when he did his fit check. My guess is that axle has the same splines on each end. He slides it slightly to his right to disengage from internal splines, rotates to the next position, then reseats the shaft. No indexing head required.

I watched this whole video to see how it's done, and the one thing that makes this video understandable isn't shown.
