I played Prepar3D on laptop which have 120Hz refresh rate monitor, so i assume i should set the v-sync to 1/4 to get same 30Hz simulated refresh rate.

Your video is so confusing! You say how much you like ASCAP, but then you seem to have Envtex selected and you say that Envtex is so much better and suggest to leave all ASCA unticked?? What?!?

create a custom refresh rate in nvidia control panel and add 30hz , so if in the game there is a refresh rate setting then 30hz will appear. if not then that appears only 60hz and 50hz. so we have to create it first. I use this trick to play watch dog legion games, Horizon zero dawn, RDR2, etc. unfortunately not all games have a refresh rate setting in the game settings. so we have to manually activate it before playing the game. And this result is smoother than we recap fps or anything. In nvidia control panel force on vsync and in game vsync off. TRY it

If you want more dense scenery and you are using a pmdg plane or another complex aircraft alike, you can bring down the draw distance for autogen, and make everything extremely dense without a huge impact on fps.

any tweak for fslabs product? i noticed that it take a lot of fps, i get 20 on the rwy with full lights on, and 40 with PMDG 777

P3d will not die its still very active for serious simmers and cockpit builders MFS has still to many bugs and performance problems and is more scenery simulator then a real Sim platforme up to now at least . Dont get me wrong MFS2020 looks great but still has a long way to go .

To be 100% this is fairly easy, not much of a challenge for me at least. Having flying to Innsbruck almost every time I log into p3d and doing the rnv 08 z approach this is similar to church turn. I’m not discrediting the video was great but I thought I was harder like Paro. Either way great video

So when it's all said and done I have to spend around 11 bucks for weather, sky, and clouds? So if I buy Active Sky and ASCA, that is not enough for the money they charge? To make matters worse, I have some add-on aircraft with weather radar. Nice right? Only caveat is Active Sky is a requirement for it to work. Sounds like a screw job to me. Looks like the whole flight sim community is taking it sideways.

Hello. I know it's been a while since this was released but i still have a question about P3Dv5. Because my GPU and Overall performance is suffering a bit with EA on, i am considering using v5 with EA off (v4 - style you can say). Would you say, in this case, ENVTEX, -SHADE and ASCA are still a good option ? (Also with REX not being compatible yet?) Best regards

Bro,you video helped me find my problem,I couldn't figure out why my GPU stayed at base clock and that is what you mentioned the 2 sliders on the graphic setting I set it to ultra and high,the shadows cast and receive I set it like you showed now my gpu runs at max clock in heavy airports like Fly Tampa Klas I get 25-30 fps with the milviz king air is a very system demanding aircraft.thanks

Hey there!awesome video....I just got p3d v.5.1 and I just installed asca and envshade. The download and install was easy,but when I take off cloud enhancements on p3d envshade does not work and when I turn enhancements on envshade works...but I have to keep enhancements off so "asca"can work good...how can I fix this issue? Thanks for the awesome tutorial BTW 🤟

Thanks for the video,I has to download the nvidia inspector control panel as a standalone but prepard3d runs worse ,pd3v4 is just old and don't run well on new hardware I have a nvidia 2080 super at this point I'm running process lasso and with VSync on adaptive tripple buffering on and max fps off I get good fps but I can see some screen refresh issues but it runs respectable. I do get better performance out of msfs 2020 I can tell that sim runs smooth,pd3 is like playing an old dos game in dosbox it don't run as good as in it's original OS DoS.

What are your thoughts of MSFS and flight simulators now that MSFS released? I’m debating on updating to P3Dv5 but I don’t want to spend another dime on updating and buying addons. MSFS base game seems bare bones and, sure, it looks pretty but a bit unrealistic for me :/
