Hi Vince, thanks for your Video. I followed your suggestion and bought ENVTEX and ENSHADE. I have just flown some longer distances, where you can also get into the night. The nights in P3DV4 are very dark. Is there a way to make the nights brighter, as if you would see a landscape in moonlight at night?

I used Riva Tuner for FPS limiting. NVI FPS limiter is known to cause DXGI errors. I do use NVI to enhance Anti-Alias though, it makes a great difference in cleaning up those few jaggies. Set Anti Alias Mode to Enhance Application Setting and then set Transparency Super-sampling to match your P3D setting. So 8X MSAA in P3D = 8X Spare Grid Super-sampling. If you use the TFDi 717 you'll have to use 8X Super-sampling (not Sparse Grid) because it causes problems with the 717 displays and TFDi refuses to fix it.
Very interesting, I will take a look at that. I knew it worked in fsx but never tried it in P3D.
@CptVince In your last video you said to unchecked Cirrus. Now were back to checking it. Which do you recommend?

My system can run fine.. as 30nm from detailed scenery, it freezes and doesnt come back..

Hi! Thank you for this video! I have a problem. If I change anything in Nvidia Inspector I get an a big input delay/response time (despite high FPS) in P3D for example view panning, controls, buttons... If I apply default settings in inspector the problem dissapears. Do you know what is causing this problem?

Merci bien, et deux petites choses. Le fichier CFG se situe dans App Data/ROAMING/lockheed martin/prepar3d (c'est plus clair^^)
Et sinon pourquoi pour le réalisme actives tu "ignore crashes and damage"? A cause de la config "realisme" qui rend le soft trop compliqué/buggué ou juste pour des raisons personnels? Merci pour ton partage.

Hello, I didn't find out, how it works. What if I want to use cumulus from ASCA? What should I do? And I didn't get the "enabled content". What if I have cirrus in enabled content in ASCA and have set 2 for cirrus in ENVTEX, which of these two it takes to show in P3D? Thank you

Но постоянно происходит ошибка DXGI ERROR DEVICE HUNG при запуске сценария.
Не подскажите как это можно устранить?
Very interested to know why you use Full Dynamics instead of Global Automatic? I have always used Global Automatic along with Active Sky for P3D and Sky Force 3D. Does Full Dynamics improve on the realistic depiction of the weather? Often wondered.
The reason has everything to do with clouds. See, Global Dynamic will only use one type of cloud texture at a time. If you want ASCA to integrate Envtex’s cloud textures - something I want - , you must put ASCA on full dynamic. Hope this makes sense.
CptVince wow thanks, that is very interesting and something I didn’t realise! I am not using the clouds in Envtex as I use Rex Sky Force 3D for that but I guess same principle applies?

Thx Captain. If you use vsync in sim why are you limiting fps ? It"s a non sens. For performance you can stay with the vsync on and, for instance, in nvidia panel, set the screen to 30, 40 or 60 ghz, you improve performance with no suttering. Give a try and tell me.
The main reason I do this is because I have a 144 Hz panel. The frame rate limiter is used mainly in my case to be able to record footage smoothly. I do agree with you that if you have a 60Hz panel, you should try and take it down to 30Hz to get a perfectly smooth gameplay, as I've explained in my previous videos :)

which version of p3d are you using?
Can you or should you use Tomatoshade the same time as Envtext and Envshade?
At the same time as Envtex, yes. At the same time as Envshade no as they are programs with same aims.
How do I set up a 144hz monitor?

Do you guys even watched the video? I see a lot of good comments and thumbs up but at 07:10 the video has the audio of the end, while the screen keeps showing instructions for lighting. What the hell is going on? I think we are watching two different videos.
You’re right there’s a small hiccup. But it picks up afterwards. Apparently people thought that the slight hiccup did not negatively impact upon the whole. Surely they’re entitled to their opinion!
I may have bad luck. I've got a laptop with i7 9750H with 16gbs of RAM and a RTX 2070, but with the same settings than you, I get only 8-12 fps =(
I use rex sky force and rex environment instead of active sky, and I have ORBX, GSX Level 2, and some paid airports. I don't know what I'm doing bad... I set the same settings than you in your video, I should get more fps with these settings
So you’re not using sky force at all?
No, only ENVTEX and ASP3DV4 + ASCA.
After making all the suggested changes to P3D settings & config file, plus all the add-ons, I am getting shadow flicker. I've backed off the Shadow quality to Medium and Shadow draw distance to High, with no effect. Lowering the Opaque Shadows setting in the config file from 4096 to 2048 had no effect. Any suggestions where I need to look to fix the problem? Thanks for all your videos.
Hey there, I’m sorry to hear this. When you say shadow flickering, is there a specific instance in which they flicker or is it sustained, continuous flickering?
It is a sustained flicker on the shadows only. I dropped the Shadow draw distance down to Medium and that cleared it up. Thanks for getting back to me!

Asca is good than REX 4 and REX SKY or?
Asca offers seamless integration with AS. I like their cirrus textures and use Envtex for the cumulus.
