After 5 years, my Protium pump top had cracked. I emailed Singularity and they sent me the newer version as replacement completely no charge even though warranty had expired. Singularity is showing the rest of the industry how to treat customers...A+ for Singularity.
There is no question that Singularity Computers has nice stuff but it does come at a tall price also, when you pay the price the Singularity Computers is asking it better be top notice product, so if you can afford it up front go for it. A company like Singularity Computers can treat you like you should be treated. Singularity Computers isn't my taste in PC hardware and it's different and that's alright, and it isn't for everybody I understand that too, so to each there own. I'm glad they took care of you because when your happy it will be by the word of month that will help Singularity Computers going forward..
@@billbabbs3871 How was it Nvidia treated us during the pandemic ? readily available graphic cards at low prices and no problems with RMA ?
OR was graphic cards only for VIP's and scalpers that could buy bulk, at the price they demanded (and made the average consumer wait an unknown time), and RMA was a place on the moon ?
Singularity Computers are like an exotic version of Noctua (and AMD with brackets)
They offered this for me as well. Although I was able to silicon mine up to stop it leaking and it wasn’t too noticeable. Damn good of Daniel to even offer though.
How you deal with dust?
@@billbabbs3871 Repeat customers is just good business.
Jeez, and I thought I was fancy screwing my motherboard to a wall. This is next level.
I saw you went to the beach on your last video and came back with that Dell still booting. If you're going to nail something to the wall, it would be that..
Greatest technician
@@DinkleDooper that's ever lived.
hello there the Greatest technician that ever lived!
The greatest technician that's ever lived.
Daniel is probably chuckling while watching Jay struggle and asking for a manual, all the while knowing he sent Jay a chassis that doubles as a logic puzzle.
That's what I was thinking lol
Spot on
Jay in next video "i found the manuals!!, they were in the trash with bubble wrap"
Honestly for this video it's kinda great for feedback
Not to mention that the manual *IS* on the website...
Wait until Jay gets to the end of the box and find the instruction manual 😂
@20:53 "We got two holes here. But we can only get to one." That's what she said.
vid is NOT annoying, it's nice to see you actually putting it together and taking apart once in a while my guy
If I ran a design company like Dan, I'd be sending my stuff to Jay for this superb evaluation and feedback
But also with no manual!
I’m kind of shocked Jay doesn’t have a Seasonic PSU. They’re great Power supplies.
I went to the comments to post this but you already did.
Yea, how does he not have a single Seasonic PSU? I have been using Seasonic for well over a decade now. What PSU does Jay depend on then? lol
@@procrastinatingnerd I think he tends to use Corsair units, *some* of which are OEMed by Seasonic, but it's not the same.
@@PsychoStreakyep corsair usually. He is why I cought corsair. They evidently work. Didn't know about seasonic
One step closer to a technological singularity
It's also a Linkin Park track.
Daniel ASSUMED that the Big Kahuna would just naturally know how to put it together. HAH!!!
And... He did..
RTFM is a thing for a reason
Take a shot every time Jay says manual
Oh I’d be gone lmao
This reminds me of the older skeleton cases, affectionately called "open air" cases. It's great, unless you have a pet and the dander gets all over the parts
Yeah but if you got that your cleaning a case filter more regularly too
What's a leaf blower 😂
I just blow my open air case down with canned air every few months and it's been fine for years now. It's the hair that's the real problem around here!
@@Original_SJB and that sucks honestly too, especially when trying to keep your home dust free as possible
@@anydaynow01 get a usb rechargeable air blower for 20 bucks they work great
There is no case, there is only Zuel!!
When you messed up so badly, jay doesn't even want you 2 cents and remove you from his builds.
So we need picatinny rails or mlok rails for computer parts.
Congrats on 4 mil subscribers! ❤️
I really like open "cases" like this, but every time I look more into a specific one I sigh and think "Nope. Still not the one"
@4:35 Got Gas? 😂
Unfortunately, yes... 😅😂😢 but can't afford it
Honestly, when you said that it’s a boring video, I thought that’s definitely not boring and is definitely a lot more interesting than just a showcase of anything
It kinda seems like they designed it but didn't do any test fitting afterwards. There's a lot of things not lining up that I feel would have been a non issue if they had done proper test fitting.
and a test to see if anything considered "disposable" can easily be replaced, i.e. the SSD's
There's also so many different component mounting options, so I can see a first run that would need tweeking and revisions.
They all do fit properly - with some specific gear - I'd expect. I get the feeling this is a case that has a VERY limited list of items it goes well with in terms of everything from motherboard to radiator, and if those are used it works a dream. If not it's between okish and nightmare. I have a Thermaltake Mozart TX, big ass mofo case you'd assume anything to fit in - nope, not even close. Custom watercooling is a MUST in it, and E-ATX boards are a pain, which makes no sense since it's like a friggin fridge. But yeah, they built it to only basically work with 3 motherboards without pain, because of how drivecages block your access to ports on the motherboard unless all your ports are bottom right corner or bottom edge. The mid/top right? Blocked - by a WELDED in drive cage assy - whee. Old ass stuff but also more like a showstopper than an actually practical product, a bit like this thing is.
That's why they sent it to Jay, to do it for them /s
LOL you make that judgement based on Jay's assembly- Quick to leap to delusions methinks!
I know it didn't come with a manual but I can't wait to see Jay try to figure out how to plug the power cable into the PSU.
At first, I thought I’d be unimpressed by an open air ITX case, a little late to that discussion… But add the power board and the water cooling, and you’ve got my attention!
Looks very cool and I love the way Singularity is thinking out of the box
Hope you have it up and running on your next video to see how it runs and thermals.
I feel like that siren in the beginning is a sign this video is gonna be good.
If SC packed and shipped a broken mirror, it would arrive whole and perfectly polished.
Jay always makes his content relatable, this time with the drips at the end lmao
Jay, I can remember your battle to lose weight quite a few years ago now and how you lost a shit load. I also had gastric banding done and lost weight and levelling out at 80 kg. After 11 years of vomiting and unable to eat takeaway or food from a restaurant, I endured enough and had it removed. While I had the banding in situ I still managed to put on 20 kg by eating chocolate and other sugar dense food and drink. Then I had it removed and slowly but surely my weight increased to 130 kg. I had terrible back and hip pain and so I saw a pain doctor who promptly said to lose weight before he would help. He recommended the 5 : 2 diet and after one year on this diet I am back to 90 kg and I have self control to maintain and even lose another 10 kg at this stage. Never once did I use a diet shake or buy diet food. Everything I ate was measured or weighed and it was so simple. All regular food items. Why am I telling you all this, well I have noticed you have put on a fair amount of weight, significantly more than your lowest with the gastric banding. I know how hard it is and have experience to share.
This reminded me how much i loved the "singularity" game!
@18:45 -- Hey Jay... the iFixit Mako kit has a flex shaft... 😁
This is a brilliant idea, I love it and now I'm questioning everything.
I love how no matter what you're building, if you've ever bought a Be Quiet! cooler, you basically now have a screwdriver that you'll be using for the rest of your PC building days.
MOD TIME!!! I'd 3d print 2 90 degree rails to connect to the radiator plate to mount 2 360's straight out the back on each side. Bonus, it gives you a place to put your take out coffee to keep it from getting too cool lol.
Videos like this are not annoying whatsoever. They're highly educational. Jay and team, thank you. Hope y'all are doing well.
We learn he cuts towards the body, instead of away.
This is cool Jay!!
i grew up seeing singularly computing on youtube, love when i see their projects in other channels
I've been wanting something like this!
Yes lets play with Phils computer. 🤣
Ultimate clean build! Build with a APU also 3D print a Power Supply shroud, and if it resembles a Hood Scoop even better!
Jay: Australia is land of expensive.
Iceland: Am i a joke to you ?
To be honest, I'm not impressed. It doesn't look like anything was actually tested with an actual build and the $300 price tag is insanity.
i mean, there's always the angle grinder....
As an Aussie I can say I've never heard of these guys, not have a I seen them advertise unfortunately.
Really funny seeing Australian moving boxes from bunnings in one of jays videos.
In Australia, not just the animals are trying to kill each other and you, the plants can also kill you. There's one where all you need to do is brush you skin against the leaves and it will suffocate you to death. Yes. And the economy too. And they have a very efficient and effective government security agency as well.
Great build commentary and review. Jay, you do the most amazing work.
The hard to reach screw @ 18:40 is easy fixed, do the bit finger tight as you have then a pair of longnosed pliers applied to the hex of the bit to get the screw tight .
Thanks for the chuckle around 16:20-16:30
I must be getting old........ I like fish tanks. My fish tank suits me just fine.
Jay, thanks for making a video manual!
God this thing looks like a pain in the hole but....i'm glad that someone's making cool shit like this. Chapeau to Singularity!
Hey speaking of fishtanks, how about we look at the lian li vision distro plate set next? :P
...Love that closing line xDD
pretty cool outside-the-box-design......great insights/recommendations as well...hope they fine tune it
Jayz economics 101...lol...great job!
24:30 made my day 🤣
Yes, a couple of'em are gonna happen. We just do not talk it about it. In the tech space. Or in general, for that matter.
Daniel is sitting back with a notebook watching the video, putting together the manual. 😅
I'[m not sick of fishtanks. Before those, we had only one ATX-size PC form factor: 2-3 fans in the front, 2-3 ion the top, 1 in the back, and the PSU and cable space underneath. I'll always welcome having more form factors.
19:00 that iFIXIT kit comes with a bendy screw driver bit
"don't mistake this for an endorsement of ASUS" 💀
Open Case PC are amazing.
I use one... and really love the concept.
Smiling!
I think he sent you the kit to watch your video and then he will write the manual.
It's an interesting little thing there is definitely something interesting to shake things up but there's also a lot of little oversights on things that could be easily adjusted by making a second version
You could totally use a passive cooled PSU and Seasonic has a 700w version. I think that would look cool seeing all the components of the PSU too since it is open chassis case.
Cool case! A horizontal L shaped bracket to mount the PSU sideways to point the cables sideways would be rad. Maybe even have the PSU mount on its side to have the fan facing the front. That would also stop dust and water getting in the PSU mesh
Or PSU fan facing down with some small feet to raise it.
This entire thing needs a mulligan. Great idea Dan; now make it so the PSU is put into quarter-split box channel which would be made as the _perfect_ frame for a PSU, and have a rigid riser for the GPU which mounts it vertically. This would enable the whole thing to nearly fit in the profile of a PSU, while not entirely relying on it for structural rigidity.
Jay You could put the Fans in between the Radiator and the Bracket! That way you could flip the Radiator and put 90°-Fittings or those Offset-Fittings on it to get that superclean Look!
Personally i really like that case except the GPU-Placement ... that really sucks :(
Love your Content!
Singularity is useing Jay to find. All the pitfall's in the assembly process to create a good manual
"If the animals aren't tryna kill ya - the economy is!" true words Jay, true words.
So if there's a revision made to slide the rad up so that you can line those fittings up... the power supply exhaust will also clear the radiator better! Maybe a little air deflector shield to route the hot air?
Singularity must have saved a fortune using Jay as a free quality and control contractor. Well played Singularity, well played...
That is pretty wild! Definitely an A for design!
DUDE! Don't be sick of fish tanks! I just ordered mine! No no no! Well actually, mine's a tech terrarium. So there.
If anyone ever accuses you of being impatient, show them this video. I was ready to give up and I was only watching. Assembling without a manual earned an upgrade on the man card. It's on the Aussies to present.
21:54 Right there with you Jay. Sometimes I feel I need to put a stick up my nose and hit my brains reset button. 😐
Jay!! You look good bud! Hope you’re feeling equally well!
Great video. Was nice to learn about Maximus. One thing though. Cutting at 30htz does remove some low end energy. Most mastering engineers would cut 20htz in the low end as we can't hear below or above 20 -20,000 htz. You will of course get a louder master as you may have cut too much from the low end. I tend to cut 20 low, 17500 high.
Arctic makes a very slick AIO that has a fan built into the cpu block for cooling VRM which would be perfect for this case.
Ah, Tower Of Terror, my favourite theme park ride. Might need to buy this due to the comparison.
Jay! You recently said about doing a case collab, I think it would be awesome if you also did something with singularity and came up with a an open "case" like this but worked together to iron out all the kinks you would find 🙂
Why put the drain on the bottom near the PSU??? It’s such a small and open “case” that you could just flip it around when you need to drain it.
I agree the PSU should mount to the other and I think that is wear it should actually go it would have given Jay that extra room he need and the pump facing outward not over the psu!
I was thinking drill a hole in that metal bracket and mount a drain valve to it then just have a small tube to the distro
@@mromutt Thought about that as well. Still say belongs on other side!
Just to clarify, i meant you could just pick up the whole case and turn it upside down to drain.
@@mromutt Exactly what I immediately thought when I saw that metal bracket. But at the time Jay might of been over it. I'm wondering if the PSU faced behind the motherboard where the rad was. and mounted the GPU by the rad(longer riser cable). It would of made the draining of the distro worry free. Keep in mind the same design Jay was mentioning about the rad facing inward to straight pipe the distro. Then again you cant have kids or animals around it would destroy your whole motherboard etc by knocking it over
Get some sticky feet to put on the bottom of the PSU. Flip it over so the psu logo is upright and the psu intake is on the bottom. The sticky feet will also help with vibration.
jay you can use some large washers to pin the aio to the sides of the braket where there are no srew holes. then it should line up the hose ports
Jay: What kind of case did you send me, Singularity?
Singularity: You want the truth? You want the F#%$ing truth?!
*Jay opens box*
Singularity: There is no case! I lied!
18:50 grab yourself a small crescent wrench or open end wrench to turn that bit & screw.
Nice idea, just wanted to see the GPU bracket be in black to match the rest
Can confirm that the only thing more dangerous than the animals down here is in fact walking into a IT/Tech retailer with your wallet on you.
Maybe have a bracket for 140 and one for 120 and you just install the one needed. that is pretty bad ass... Thanks, jay!
I think I can excuse the build difficulty for the end result. Really cool build... Almost makes me wish itx boards were outfitted better.
Daniel needs to include a "Maniel" with this
I like the general idea, I have been seriously considering migrating my rig to an open-air test-bench like structure. This would greatly simplify maintenance/tinkering with the system and would also eliminate the apparition of oddly placed aquariums/microwaves. I would prefer an ATX compatible structure since there are many more choices for ATX than ITX and I may want to add a card.
There can be minor practical issues using a test-bench. For example, I share my abode with large short-hair dogs (zero cats) so there will be dog detritus (in addition to human detritus) to consider but one benefit of open-air is that it is easy to use a blower to remove any such detritus. Since canines are trainable/intelligent, they do not mark items within the abode, so no conductive urine splatters to short-out the electronics (slobbery head shaking might be a concern). But these issues would be much diminished so long as the chassis is not in the canine play areas (100LB+ dogs playing tug-o-war can be tumultuous).
LOOKS LIKE A 0.5 VERSION, needs to be iterated a bit more before 1.0 Release. if the 3.5 tray we rotated 90degrees you could hot swap them (with a caddy and clips systme) then you don't have to dismantle "case" to swap them.
"...YOU CAN'T GET TO THE HOLES!..IT NEEDS TO BE MOUNTED!.."
Depending on the bit size you can get a 6 point wrench to tighten it.
When that police siren went past all I thought about was GTA 😂
NR200p with 7900xtx...i found great success with venting out the side and in the top. The case is a block, but it is full of exhaust options. I also undervolted just like you said to do with amd(7600x). It's been great!
As an Aussie that last statement is very true Jay, although more the economy than the animals!
I like the modularity of this build. It looks like some of your fitment issues are missing standoffs for the GPU bracket. I don't think the metal should be touching the mounting surface of where it was screwed into. Order of operations is critical here in the build. I also think you can pre-install the sata drive mounts using adhesive on the nut that holds the screws down (I don't think I'm explaining that well). That chassis is DOPE.
I think you could put the lower left GPU mount behind the upper left mount. This would possibly change the bracket order and the GPU wouldnt have the leaning issue at 20:53 due to misaligned holes.
Oooooooooh, that goes over there instead. Now it fits! That's what I got for not reading the manual. 😋
Australian here, I didn't know that Singularity was an Aussie company. 😊Checked out their website...weird it says its based in the US?
I love accessories, lots of them even though I won't use them ❤
You could make aluminum rails in between the radiator and the mounting plate to the top and put your own holes in to get the rad holes in line with the top of the distro plate, you could also run the aluminum right to the bottom and it would make it sturdier
