I’m booked on QM2 in April for a TA from Southampton and I’m scared now. TBH I’ve been scared since our original crossing was cancelled 2 hours prior to boarding. We shall see. Fingers crossed.

I was really surprised by this video. We've sailed on QE and QV several times and everything was spotless. Either your cabin steward was lazy or they're understaffed. The "artwork" would give you nightmares. I like the art deco style art on the other two Cunard ships (not the Queen Anne!) I would have taken those pillow protectors down to the Purser's office and plonked them on the desk in front of them!

That was absolutely dreadful! There is no excuse for those drawers, pillows nor the chair. I'm definitely gong to have a good look at those when we do our sailing in October.

Recommend to bring cleaning and disinfection wipes for the cabin, MDR and buffet

The pillow and the kettle are disgraceful for this ship so sorry,maybe you can do a video on the dining?

Yuk no excuse. Independence the oldest ship we've cruised on. Again worn and stained soft furnishings, but no excuse for hairs & bits🤮

A fair assessment of the cabin. What a shame that Cunard has problems with cleanliness, not acceptable for a top of the range company. Come on, Cunard, you have a reputation to maintain.

Yuk!!! You're right, dirtiness is not acceptable. I would have sent pictures to Cunard head office. We won't be using @cunard Hopefully your next cruise will be better x

We had 14 nights to NY and back 2 years ago in a deck 12 Club Balcony (a balcony cabin with a coffee machine, free water & a whole bottle of Pol Aker!). We didn't experience any of your problems. We have the exact same trip & cabin booked for 2025 & 2026. If we had we'd have left one of those notelets that you had with hairs on in the drawer for the steward when we went to dinner on 1st evening. They must have been in room to leave the chocolates. If no response I'd call guest services on return from evenings activities. Pursers desk are mainly admin, account questions etc, not many are customer service focused. We established on your 1st video that you were on QM2 just after they stole 30% of staff for QA. I know you got a great deal booking late but it wasn't really a good time to be on board. There's been much better reviews on Cruise Critic & here in June. Re the wear and stuff looking tired; We can't sail in June 2026 because QM2 is in dry dock for nearly a month for her half life refit. We're expecting to see a big change in September 2026.

You’ve experienced a cabin being serviced by a bit of a lazy B …it happens .. I think the job is a hard one and you get great , motivated individuals sometimes ..we have never had that experience on Cunard ..but it happens . Not sure who else is responsible for the cleanliness of your cabin if it’s not the steward..🤔..and I’m fairly sure if this video is viewed by Cunard senior staff that they will have no problem or reluctance in blaming the steward.

Have never done an ocean cruise (river cruises, yes). When we do eventually venture on the ocean, QM2 is unlikely to be top of our list based on this feedback. Good housekeeping is a basic “must get right”. Unspecified hairs and marks on pillows - yuk ! Giles: you must introduce a new feature to future cruise reviews - how far your “tickle tackle” is above the toilet water line 😅

Totally Agree ... Its the little things that matter and can a big difference, especially when you are regular cruiser and can compare how things used to be..

Cunard staff ,we have noticed in the last few years ,particularly in the restaurants can be pretty surly…no conversations are had , and the service can be pretty rushed especially on the QM 2..I think this is a result of staff shortages / cuts as the service used to be fantastic and very welcoming.

The music is quality ..👍👏👏

Having been on Ambition on almost 5 times (going again next week) re taxis, there are ALWAYS taxis outside and you may have to wait a few minutes for more to come along so no need to prebook a taxi from Bristol. You can always order an Uber too from Bristol, if you have the app.

Absolutely agree. There was a lovely choice of cocktails on the all inclusive menu and the Merlot in the dining room was first class. Going on our fifth Marella cruise in September and can't wait!

Having done P and O and Marella several times ( both of which I love and would go on again), completely agree with your review, Ambassador best food and entertainment we have had on a ship. And loved the smaller size.

Thanks. That was useful. I was looking for a pic of the coffee machine in Sir Samuels to confirm it was a Cimbali M39 DT/3. Had lunch out at Mandelieu-la-Napoule yesterday and a cafe there had a (bigger) M39 DT/4. We were sipping wine waiting for the train home when I spotted it, but we'll be back there for morning coffee next time. Should have said; we're only interested in Chart Room, Sir Samuel's, Queens Room, G32, Britannia Club port side, Grand Lobby and we do like walking down those stairs in Britannia heading to Club restaurant. Then you could just have concentrated on them! 🤣 But you covered lots in a fairly short video. And we only use lifts when taking luggage on or off, helps let you eat more. Oh, we like the gym too.

Can someone tell me what the water is like for teas etc? On the Queen Anne the water was so chlorine tasting that we couldn't drink the tea as it was so strong. Thanks

I have watched this and the other video and I think it's horses for courses. Cunard are different to other cruises (in that it's not a cruise) and I think you were expecting what you'd get on a cruise line, not a liner. Ask for the wine menu - or for your favourite wine - when you order your food. Don't sit there waiting for someone to come around offering "red or white?". We meet with the wine team at the start of each week and they always offer great ideas and tasting. Anyway, thanks for the videos.

Interesting and fair, as always, but we got the feeling this was not one of your favourite cruises? It looked more like an exclusive residential complex than a cruise liner.

You deserve a decent standard of service however much you pay. I haven’t seen your cabin review yet? Did you have dirty pants in your room?!

It doesn’t matter what class you’re on, poor service is never acceptable. While the rich folk get perks, all customers should be made to feel special, not crappy. Did you see the recent vlogs from (Cruise With) Ben and David, they had a similar experience. They were travelling fourth clsss, but so what? I went on a QM2 trip in 2007 and it was excellent. Well, apart from having to dress up every blooming night! Anyway, thanks for a very watchable video, and belated Happy Anniversary, Lisa and Giles.

You 2 crack us up! We've recently booked a Cunard Cruise so are now well prepared for what we may find, and we'll have a whole week, so I do hope things get better, lol! And Giles, Brian also HATES having to take his belt off. Looking forward to the next one.....

Great tour - I always love having a look around this ship! I was so surprised onboard to find all those little museum-like sections - some fascinating background information to this ship! Also, I disagree re: Monopoly - one of my favourites, haha!
