    Join us as we embark on a tender from Marella Discovery 2 to the amazing city of Malacca in Malaysia. We explore the city independently and show you how we accessed the tourist information service for local knowledge on things to do in port. We visit a museum, shopping centre, Jonker Walking Street, St Paul's Hill and take a walk along the river. Sampling local cuisine along the way, aswell as buying Durian fruit tarts that are banned on the MRT in Singapore! We even taste test them in this video to see if they are as bad as people say!! An amazing day in a wonderful city - join us for hints and tips on what to do here if you are visiting.
    This video was shot on a DJI Osmo Pocket 3 camera.
    Photographs were taken on a Samsung A53 phone

    Sounds delicious. I like soft chocolate fudge. Yum yum. Another very professional video.

    Malacca looked amazing ! So jealous as this port was scrapped from our itinerary. Really fancied one of those funky rickshaws …The durian fruit taste test .. loved that sequence… click your heels
    👠 together 3 times and say “there’s no place like home and no taste in our durian fruit bites” .. Brilliant as always guys .. Thank you

      Thanks guys. I know that a couple of cruises missed Malacca out this year. It was a shame as it is a nice and accessible port stop with no excursion required. And yes, the durian fruit tarts were a disappointment 🤮

    Really enjoying this series. Travelling 6,700 miles to try and get some Clarks’ shoes and a fridge magnet is impressive commitment 😂

      @TravellingLightLisa  Před 3 měsíci

      Not many people will get that fridge magnet now! Marella have cancelled this port in the future. It currently adorns our fridge and may be worth a lot of money in the future 🤔. You can come round and take a look at it anytime. Well worth our horrific carbon footprint! 😂👍

    You were very brave opening the fruit inside
    Think I would have been at the bottom of the garden.
    Lovely video once again.
    Thank you

      @@TravellingLightLisa : Only the raw fruit has the offensive smell, that's why it's banned on public transport. Durian crisps are tasty!

    Malacca is really nice city - I first went t there in the sixties and have been back six times es. I am looking to returning in a year. 🎉🎉🎉
    Fresh Durian fruit does smell a bit like rotting flesh but it tastes quite good. It is similar to Jack fruit which we used to pick from our garden in Bangladesh where I was posted for three years with DFID /FCO.
