Join us as we embark Ambassador Cruises on Ambition for a 6 day cruise to France and the British Isles. This is our first time on Ambassador Cruises so we will be giving you lots of hints and tips aswell as our thoughts on this new British Cruise line. We got this cruise at a surprising price including a drinks package and we reveal the cost of this in our vlog. Informing you when and how we booked it to get it at the price we did. This vlog gives you lots of detail on how to get to the port of Tilbury by public transport, how to walk from Tilbury Town Station and also what the parking facilities and costs are if you decide to come in your car. We show you the embarkation process, the muster drill and what our first day and evening onboard Ambition was like.

We love to travel and go on walks and days out. It is really important that we can continue to afford to do this so budgeting wisely is essential. Money is tight and so are we! Our mission is to share hints and tips on travelling, things that are value for money and budgeting.

Glad you were enjoying your cruise. We have cruised with Ambassador twice and regard both cruises as two of the best we have done. While the ships are old and there is no WOW factor they have been refitted out very well. Some of the best entertainment we have seen on a ship from the resident entertainers. Can't say the same for the guest entertainers though. Food is generally very good and staff excellent. For me the introduction of actors on the ship is great and the plays they do have been great. Infact we have booked two further cruises this year with Ambassador. Nice Vlog and a good review. Thank you.

We sailed from Tilbury to Norway on Ambassador Ambience and the whole cruise was 10/10. The ship, the staff, the food and the entertainment. Can't wait to travel with them again.

Great video! We were on Ambition last year and thought it was a lovely ship. Unfortunately, we got on when there was a vomiting bug outbreak. Very limited facilities. No specialty restaurant open until the second week, even then it was just saffron, we were hoping for Lupinos. Very restricted buffet.
We still enjoyed the cruise though. They were very good about sanitising etc.
The entertainment was great and not "in your face" like it was on a Celebrity cruise we were on.
The food was ok except for the pool grill which was only opened as a grill a couple of days before the end. The burgers and hot dogs were atrocious!!
Oh no! It's horrible to have an outbreak on board. Glad you still enjoyed the cruise though. You have got to make the most of your holidays. Thanks so much for watching 👍

Thanks for the video, very useful. We're trying them for a short cruise from Bristol next month. We're parking in Bristol as it's close to us in South Wales. We couldn't get a drinks package that cheap but did get included parking and return coach. The price of the drinks do seem quite reasonable especially compared to other cruise lines.

When you drive into the car park you are directed to the luggage drop off point and then you park your car. Simple but can be costly depending on the length of cruise. Up and coming cruise is £144 for 12 days.

Probably the reason you saw passengers without luggage going from the car park to the terminal is that normally you drive to port, drop the luggage with the porters and then drive to the car park. Thanks for a great video, look forward to the rest.

So far, this looks excellent value. Love Giles’s “bring me sunshine” tribute. All your videos have been excellent, but the editing on this one is, I think, the sharpest one so far (Lisa ?). Have to say, early comparisons suggest this is a better option than Marella (discuss !). Look forward to your next videos, as well as you reaching a well deserved 1000 subscribers !

Hi I'm going on my first ambassador cruise in August on the same ship. Having sailed on many of the other lines including the premium lines I'm looking forwad to giving ambassador a go . As for marella coffee i quite agree ,it tastes like it came from the engine room.
We were very pleasantly surprised by Ambassador and wouldn't hesitate to book again if the itinerary appealed to us. If you don't need casinos or cabin fridges, it could be a good option. Glad you back us up on the Marella coffee debate! 😀 Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts 👍

Hello, we must’ve been on the Ambition a week or two before you. We had a brilliant trip to Iceland and Orkney, and funnily enough you passed the very table we sat at in the Holyrood - 104, one f those desirable two-seated (you two seem to be about a sociable as we are!). We even saw our waiter,Christian.
We also love the Simon & Garfunkel show, but I don’t see the big problem with not being able to film it - whenever there’s a clip of a show on a cruise vlog it’s only a second or two due to copyright laws. As an audience member, we don’t really like people filming, it’s terribly distracting and can put the, cast members off… in fact, we always get there early enough to sit in the front row so that we are not sitting behind anyone filming, otherwise I will probably get into an argument!
Anyway, this is the first time your shows have come up on our CZcams screen, we’ll be watching the rest. Happy cruising!

Hi guys it was lovely meeting you...just to let you know regarding luggage and parking in the cruise car park...you queue in your car (5 mins) and unload then your cases are taken before you even park your car...superb and ultra efficient service

@@TravellingLightLisa How could I forget you lol? For your viewers, Ambassador is really welcoming to solo travellers and we had over 100 on this cruise. I had an inside cabin and was charged £305...I also booked through IGLU...my fare included port parking at Tilbury, a return transfer on an excellent coach back from Bristol to Tilbury and £50 in onboard credit... literally WOW...

Tilbury is about 30 minutes from us but we are yet to test Ambassador. Maybe it's worth a long weekend... Did you see any of the Windrush Generation history at Tilbury Cruise Terminal?

The cruise we did was good value but was a slightly weird itinerary and relocation cruise. If it's just half an hour away, you should keep an eye open for deals. Thanks for watching 👍

Our daughter came and picked us up. I knew there was a reason we had kids! Hope to catch up soon. We have booked QM2 today, which will be our first Cunard experience. 😀
Great video 👍If you cruise from Tilbury again, you may be interested to know that you can buy a ticket from the C2C rail company to Tilbury Riverside which will allow you to travel on the number 99 bus which operates between Tilbury Town station and the cruise terminal. This will save you the walk if the weather is not so good. Many years ago, there used to be a train station at Tilbury Riverside (roughly where the cruise car park is in your video). After the station closed, the train company realised that some people would still want to travel there so they still sell tickets to Tilbury Riverside (even though the station is no longer there!) and as mentioned, you can catch the 99 bus. The bus was also useful for anyone travelling on the Tilbury / Gravesend ferry but that finished operating at the end of March.

Is is what is called a relocation cruise. In other words you do not return to the same port you departed from .These are always cheaper because of the inconvenience. Great video.
Thank you for watching and commenting it is much appreciated 👍 We have tended to avoid relocation cruises as they can be sea day intense and we do like our port days. This one was OK though as we had 3 ports and 2 sea days. It was a pleasant introduction to Ambassador.

Your statement at 4:16 doesn't make sense , they either caught the bus from Bristol to Tilbury or they drove to Tilbury from Bristol where they then parked the car for 6 Nights, I can't see how they could do both for a total cost of £110
Hi there were 2 options for parking your car on our cruise that embarked at Tilbury and disembarked at Bristol. Option 1 - drive your car to Tilbury and disembark at Bristol then catch the coach back to Tilbury to collect your car. This was the text statement I made saying a couple we spoke to did this costing £110 on our cruise. Option 2 - was drive to Bristol on embarkation day and catch a coach to Tilbury. You then just got in your car on disembarkation day at Bristol. I wasn't aware of this option before the cruise and mention this in my audio. I do not know the cost of Option 2 but I assume it would be similar to Option 1. Thanks for watching and hope this clarifies what I said.

P&O don't charge you any gratuities on top of your cruise fare. Their drinks pa kages are better Value and the overall experience is better. Ambassador seem quite dated.
I'm very British about gratuities for the sake of it. I don't really like them. As we have sailed with P&O and Marella up to now, gratuities were always included. I would rather the staff were all paid a decent wage without having to rely on gratuities. We found on P&O we were better off paying as we went rather than taking the £49 or £55pppn deluxe drinks package. We went for this package on Ambassador as it was a good deal for £20pppn.
