Honestly was doomed to fail when American's got it the same time as us, without paying the TV licence, automatically put a sour taste in for the entire show going forward without even seeing the content.

First thing... Who's Next is on my record player right now! Nice! Second, I've grown more cross about this entire series the longer I think about it. If Sutekh escaped at the end of time after the salty business, sure. But when the TARDIS was a living, breathing woman... Wouldn't she say, "Oh yeah, Sutekh is on the roof. Might want to check on that." Or something. I feel insulted, I feel betrayed and I feel lied to. The f*ing memory TARDIS... JESUS!!! People just seem fine with it... Makes no sense. Definitely room for more crying. I'd like next series to be mainly crying... It really has weight to it when it NEVER STOPS!!!! And in the end... Oh! There's Mrs. Flood to be vaguely sinister and wink at the camera... OH GOD I DON'T CARE ANYMORE!!! We were promised cake... There was no cake... The cake is a lie.

Brand new discs and there you are with fingers all over the playing surface. CDs (and DVDs) are like vinyl inasmuch as they should be fingerprint free.....shame on you :-) Anyway, my copy arrived this afternoon so I plan on playing the whole caboodle tonight.

What would have been much more fun than having them watch Pyramids of Mars on I-Player is if they had had to do a Trial and Tribblations type episode in which they had to wander around the manor during the events of Pyramids of Mars trying to avoid Tom and Sarah so they don't create a paradox, in order to retrieve a piece of Osiran technology that is in Scarman's collection of Egyptian artefacts

Great album. I have several versions of reissues. The box set is the best. The book in the middle is better than little booklets. Allows me to enjoy the full content on CD and DVD without getting the large LP version. I’ve moved away from vinyl and I’m not going back. The box sets also allow for keeping all the content together on a shelf instead of pulling out the CDs and storing the box and associated content somewhere else. Love Jethro Tull. Rock on!

Nice one darren

This is the Tull box set with the least amount of content. Interesting considering how much the more content the most recent reissues have. Would love a concert CD from the TAAB era. Maybe at 60 years. I love all of the Jethro Tull box sets. CD, DVD and a great booklet. Rock on!

Are these re-uploads?

The first pressings of this 40th anniversary contained a number of glitches, which were quickly repaired and proper pressings reissued.

The 40th Anniversary one is quite sought after nowadays. It’s a collection item and potential buyers are willing to pay ridiculous amounts. I haven’t been able to notice any outstanding differences between this and the 50th Anniversary Edition though. Lovely reviews, Darren!

Had the cassette back in day side one classic side 2 not so much but good the drumming on side 2 bit long but still worthwhile I'm more of heavy horses kinda guy for all the extras still in 2024 feel that heavy horses was an unfinished album by today's standards thank you darren ❤

Try to take a balanced approach and look at the reviews that refute most of her claims. She's a conservative and conservatives always fear cultural change and would rather attack such changes than actually learn to adapt or properly educate themselves. They used to think that being gay was a lifestyle choice until science proved them wrong. Now they think that being transgendered is a lifestyle choice even though transgendered people have existed through-out human history. I don't trust an academic willing to go outside of their expertise to talk about cultural issues but that's really typical of conservatives, especially Christian conservatives. Slow to catch up to reality, stuck inside their traditional Christian conservative bubble. I'm reminded of the sub-heading, 'When Ideology Meets Reality', something that applies to many rightwing intellectuals.

My first JT album that set up my decades-long; dedicated following .... Still being a favourite through to this day ! That unique wood-cut cover has another somewhat unknown feature that I sussed out on the first day of ownership .... The significance of IA's outstretched left hand on the back cover .... Go count his fingers on the front cover ! 🤙🎸🥁⚡️🎶

Excellent book in this set. I thoroughly enjoyed all the technical details about recording the 1977 and 78 shows!

Hi Darren -have had a look in my record collection -it seems i have 3 vinyl copies of Fragile -but not the first pressing on plum/orange like your one-also it came with a booklet -iwon t be buying the £ 84 one!!!

Good album, however, I have a particular dislike for the cover; even the alternate cover art is better. Great review, Darren.
