Thanks for the unboxing. I got this delivered the day it came out. A preorder on Amazon don’t you know and the price has dropped to under $50 US and Amazon gives you the rebated price which is another reason to preorder. I preordered the Robin Trower 50th anniversary box set of Bridge of Sighs and I’m glad I did because it sold out and now it’s back in stock but at a higher price. Anyway I have all 15 of these Jethro Tull box sets and they are the standard for reissues in my opinion. All well done with Steve Wilson remixes, which are always great to listen to, with unreleased music including live shows from the era. This one is no exception even though it’s a live album. The original album was recorded in Europe and this set has unreleased music including sound checks and a full concert DVD from Madison Square Garden (the CD version is abbreviated) from the same Heavy Horses tour in 78. Excellent 96 page booklet, 3 CDs and 3 DVDs all for under $50 in a book you can put on the shelf as part of your Jethro Tull library. What’s not to love. I love all things Tull including this set. Highly recommended. Peace, love and music.
Excellent book in this set. I thoroughly enjoyed all the technical details about recording the 1977 and 78 shows!
Hi Darren thank you for the synth waftings behind your voice. As you intoned over the synths your voice reminded me of Peter Jones as 'The Book' in the original radio production of 'The Hitchhikers Guide to The Galaxy', from the late 1970's. I think that is a complement...

I found a little light music more intimate and appealing but the popularity of bursting out more dynamic of showcasing the concert experience
Thanks for the unboxing. The content of Bursting Out is from the Songs From the Wood world tour and I saw them at the Horden Pavilion September 1977. A great concert by any measure.

Ah, Jethro Tull at the height of their powers all those decades ago. It is a very fine live recording though I only have the original vinyl release. I always thought it was a pity that line up of the band broke up a year or so later. We don't need to go into the reasons why but it was an end of an era.

You’ll enjoy it, it’s a fkn blinder of a gig! I often imagine how great it must have been to be there. Not so struck on all this special edition malarky, blu ray? atmos? A few pale ales enhances the experience for me.
It’s good old fashioned DVD and 5.1 - no poncy ATMOS!

There’s only about 50 minutes of video footage on the MSG DVD, the rest being audio only.
I knew I needed my glasses…
It’s advertised on the set as 93 minutes of video with 50 minutes of actual concert footage, which is a little misleading… 🫤

Brand new discs and there you are with fingers all over the playing surface. CDs (and DVDs) are like vinyl inasmuch as they should be fingerprint free.....shame on you :-)
Anyway, my copy arrived this afternoon so I plan on playing the whole caboodle tonight.
