I’m a Brit who lives in the USA now and have a S2A and use Rovers North, great company for anyone in the USA. Agree with Craddocks and Blanchards, great places and a good bunch of people too. I can’t believe you did not mention Land Rover Heaven in AUS, they have a great array of Landy’s and such. There’s also a place in Greece that sells parts, Land Rover Treasure Shop I think. I also find that sometimes the forums are a good place to get parts. My advice is always buy the part you’re looking for twice if it’s not too much. Thanks Geoff would be great to put all of this in a table on your website…

Hi Frank. First question, no you don't need a tool though it is handy to have one to help get the tool off. Second question, if the oil filter is cartridge filter then yes you can wash it in diesel and use it again if required. Kind regards, Geoff

Thanks for a very entertaining chat! What really amazes me is that you are able to enjoy yourselves while producing high quality videos. Early on I had a desire to make outdoor adventure films but became discouraged when I started doing some event photography. Yes, that's an entirely different situation, but I soon learned that orchestrating my shots and all the technical aspects involved in making them required so much focus that there was no opportunity to enjoy anything. Doing outdoor content seemed like it would be worse, because then there really would be something to miss out on.Maybe it was premature, but it killed the dream for me. I'm sure glad you guys didn't think the same way because I sure enjoy your work....

Hi Mark. It isn’t easy and certainly is all rainbows all the time, but as Mr Foreman said it is having that interest in nature and film making. They compliment one another. The other trick is knowing what and when to shoot and when you just need to put that camera down and enjoy nature itself. All bit of juggling act as you know Mark. Glad you enjoyed the video. Cheers Geoff

You’re absolutely right when you say spend the extra few bob on better parts. As I’ve mentioned I did most of my apprenticeship on these vehicles and good quality parts make LR’s and RR’s extremely reliable. They get a bad review but I think that was from people taking their vehicles to mechanic’s that didn’t know the vehicle. Yes there were production issues, but in the hands of a good mechanic, and I class myself among those chaps, after all I can rebuild any LR gearbox, it was a 5 week course in 1985, in the hands of a good mech these vehicles are awesome.

I have a 4BD1 in my 86 County 110, and they installed the IDEK motor to turn off engine with the ignition. Used to have a Stage 1 109 with 4BD1 and it had the manual turn off cable pull. They modified the internals on the County Models, for they definately were quieter than the earlier Models. I even installed the extra Tappett cover/Timming covers on the later County models on to my old Stage 1, but it didn't make any difference. Fantastic video !
